the only thing that annoys me is when at weddings, either the groom's frat brothers or the bride's sorority sisters take them away from their new spouse, surround them on the dance floor and either serenade them with their fraternity's / sorority's song or stroll around them or both, totally taking the focus off the wedding.

Disclaimer: I am not greek but I do understand the organizations and their purpose. I used to think this as well...like mofo's be thread jacking the wedding but I went to an African wedding and the invitees actually performed traditional dance and song as a manner of tribute and celebration to the bride and groom. Once I realized the same thing happens in the "greek" weddings, I understood it differently. Hopefully, you will to, as a manner of tribute and celebration to the couple.
Once you have been blessed with the light of knowledge and understand it in the fullness of time...all 360 degrees of it, you will see the cycle of life. Ask and seek, wisdom and truth, for they will be revealed once the blindfold of ignorant darkness is lifted and blessed light shineth forth.

Frats were some cornball shit when I first arrived on Morgan State's campus back in 2003. The only one that had a strong presence on campus back then were the Iotas, and nobody had ever heard of them. They started to regain prestige by the time I left, though.
Just a question. At this African wedding, were the couple being serenaded together, or separately (one song for the bride, one for the groom)?
