Didn't know it was being recorded by the answering machine, that's a long ass tape. Pretty interesting historical document if you think about it.

Sanyika "Monster Kody" Shakur
This was me and Tupac's first conversation. This was October 18th 1995. i had just gotten out of Pelican a month before, and Pac had been out a couple of days. We did not know We were being recorded. My wife pressed record on the answering machine and unbeknown to either of us, caught some bomb ass history. Ya'll enjoy this, and check out Pac and how positive he was. This is Classic shyt. It's Shakur thang.

Dope, no rapper is even his level EVER! How come no rapper alive has even thought of doing something like that and Pac's been gone for 18 years!

He died too young, he was filled with so much ambitions.

Damn man. My first time hearing that. Thanks for the post fam.

Niccas dont realize what level Pac was on. He was probably 23/24 during that phone call. Rappers today who are 30+ aint even CLOSE to his level of thinking.

Anyway good post, download i does!

Yoooooooooo, I just finished listening to the whole conversation.

Pac was truly on some next level shit. I mean...by then...Pac was a celebrity...but he hadn't even reached superstar status yet because All Eyez on Me hadn't even dropped yet.

STILL, this nigga was already contemplating on how to use his platform as well as other prominent rappers platforms to better the Black community of a massive scale.

Shit, what rappers do you know of with vision like this?

Fuck man...it's a damn shame...

I'm just at the beginning but hearing him talk about "this new 28 year old cat named Antoine Fuqua...." Guess i'm gonna be sitting here listening to this shit. Def. some history here.

Dam man thanks for this, they murdered that brotha before he could try and make a change. GOOD DROP:yes:

Motherfucking right they did.

Do you know how many people he more than likely told that plan to?

People can call him whatever they want to, this conversation cements what I thought to be true.

He understood the need to get the community together. To get other influential people involved.

To get the people registered to vote and then to go to the people in charge and make the demands and throw our voting power together..

getting the streets clean from 6am to 11pm...that time is for the kids?

come on man..

But I have people trying to convince me that Jay-Z was the best artist in 1996 tho.

yeah... that hooked me in..

if this cat had the right mentor man...he would have done a lot man...

I think he just aligned himself with the wrong people. I truly believe Suge Knight was his downfall.

THIS. I don't think it was a conspiracy.... Suge Knight took him to a really dark place and surrounding him with death.

Good info. He touched on something i have always thought, that Pac was doomed because of his parents and aunt.

I tried to tell cats in the other Pac thread that he was on the verge of greatness if he had not died so young. He had a lot of great ideas and intentions but his youth and immaturity hindered his full vision.

maya angelou

he was about to say his true feelings about death row and got interrupted
