Official 2014 NBA Playoffs thread

You right

After Cuban ran his mouth basically in defense of Sterling it put the lock on the door that was already slammed shut of us getting any big time player

People steadily say how likeable Cuban is when he actually isn't

He a smug ass cracka and that's why the NBA wouldn't let him have that 06 title truth be told

Refs wasn't about to do him no favors he was still running his mouth too much

1st it was the Kenyon Martin and his mother episode and now Sterling. :smh:

Maybe Dirk and winning a chip will offset it some, but I think its a wrap for us. :smh:

.... Brooks <s>was</s> IS absolute trash as a coach.

You switch coaches in this series with Pop coaching OKC and brooks with SA and OKC wins easily. Brooks clock management and play calling coming out of a time out is less than ZERO!, worse than former Knick coach Woodson, and he was awful

Last time I checked Defense was an huge part of the game. How can you be top anything without playing it. Without a post game at damn near 7 feet tall.

Westbrook gets all the criticism playing the most difficult position with the most responsibility.

Kind of hard when you can't even sniff the ball on key plays...

You might need to check the tape instead of just blindly saying things.

He wasn't even trying, he wasn't running, he wasn't demanding, he was standing. After he fell when he got the ball up top with the game on the line and turned it over he damn near didn't even try up until the play was called for him out of bounds and reggie called that timeout.

I'm a big Kevin Durant Fan... ,but he was Passive as fuck in the 4th

Y'all know damn well.. Lebron.. would get ate alive... for that

I didn't see that fire in his eyes, that you see in Jordan, Kobe, LeBron and even Westbrook.

kd was the mvp this season.
he just came up extra smedium

we kept waiting for him to take over the game and he never really even tried.

You're right. I don't want to hear dudes questioning if KD is really that good or his handles. That dude is 6'10 or 6'11. His handles are fine. IT comes with maturing in the NBA. Where was Lebron or Kobe or MJ at his age? People forget because KD been doing it for a minute but he's still learning. A experienced coach is going to expose his defencies. KD gonna come back harder next year.

But one thing he has to start doing is demanding the ball more. Dirk was the same way. Avery came in and Dirk became less reliant on others. KD might just need that coach to let him know that ayyy this is your team and we live and die by you. He should touch the ball every possession he's in the game.

Exactly, NO killer instinct, he needs to get away from his Mom for a while, spend some time in the reality based "real world" New York, LA, Chicago, and other places. In OKC they roll the sidewalks up at 8PM. They don't believe in science, don't believe in 'climate change', they believe the planet Earth is 6,000 years old - it's a 24/7 Bible thumper state. Durant needs to spend some time in Vegas, enjoy himself in a "wild man" suite, go to the Vegas nightclubs and watch people with money-to-burn buy $100,000 dollar Nebuchadnezzar bottles of champagne. He needs to travel learn and experience things. I look at him, and I could be wrong, but I see a guy who doesn't even knows what an Alpha male is. Johnny Manziel is an unproven pro athlete with NO pro resume and he's already got more "sizzle" and projects more testosterone than the MVP Durant.

Maybe he's not really an MVP. League has had no accountability having ass shooters for years it's nothing new. He doesn't make anybody better and he plays Steve Nash level defense. Honestly I've followed him since High-school but now I have to say Westbrook is the better player.

This is some retarded shit! This Guy had 30 points 14 rebounds 2 assist and 3 blocks and you come up with this?

He would have done what he always do and that's stand around and wait for 1 of his teammates to make him look good. He only had 1 good game against the spurs last year remember?

Wake up to the coffee, your boy has no handle, no defense, questionable heart, allows smaller players to force him to take difficult low % shots, and choked at the end of the game..

Truth be told......Lebron Bosh and Wade are the reason why its trash........3 stars on one team doesn't help the eat when they were all from the same conference.

So Bosh on the current Raptors Team ?

Wade on the heat of Course with most of the current team

Bron Going to The Knicks ? with a few of the current heat players ?

Then with the east getting three guys who all will probably be stars with the first 3 picks

Rose Back with the bulls...actually playing

You'd prefer something like that to make the east deeper ?

We must've been watching different games, that's all...

In the game I was watching Westbrick put up like 10 bricks in OT culminating with a wild ass brick off the scoreboard, while the best shooter on the floor only took like 2 shots the entire period... Any other side shit is really irrelevant.

I don't expect fans to understand real criticism, actually groupies in most cases on here. But if KD doesn't get the same shit as past MVPs than how can he grow? He is a liability on defense that is real. He sits back and let's Westbrook take all the heat that is real. He can't guard big Diaw, he can't guard small Green, he can't guard his size Leonard. In dumb fan world yes Steve Nash and Dirk are Mvps Basketball players know that's a joke.

Youre being a bit extreme. He did his job offensively and did the job of two on the boards. The game was lost strategically. This isn't on KD. Obviously he could be a bit more demonstrative but even if he did, him scoring more points or better defending the ball wouldn't have helped tonite. The game was lost in the 4th and OT by the spurs exploiting horrible matchups down low and playing defense and forcing turnovers.

Y'all talking Durant isn't a MVP and is passive sound ridiculous. How many clutch shots has KD hit over the years. Blame Brooks for his insistence on NOT calling any real plays. And blame their PG for not looking for him. When you need a 3, Westbrook dribble drives to the rack don't help. Neither do his wild 3pts that hit the top of the shot clock while trying to draw a foul when he doesn't even look for KD.

Durant is going to have to learn how to be a dickhead and demand the ball. Don't let Westbrook take it up the floor. Have his teammates run a double screen up to for him and let him do his thing. If Westbrook has the ball, he's not going to see it.

You know who is going to come in and defend Westbrook, but you have to take Westbrook's bad with his good.

His numbers are inflated because all he does is shoot jump shots, kills it on the free-throws, and his rebounds are due to the fact that his team shoots so many bad shots and misses.. He will always put up good numbers because scoring is 80% of his game.. Yes KD is a great player, but then again, so was Dominique, and in many ways they are similar players..

What I've noticed on here as well as social media is the people who want to continue to question Durant's MVP status are Lebron fans who want him to win it every season

All I know is that I dont want to hear about Westbrook taking shots away from Durant.

Westbrook came up with so many clutch plays to get them back in the game at the end. He flat out deserved the opportunity to carry the team in OT.

In fact looking over this playoff run for OKC, Westbrook was the guy who kept coming up big when they needed it.

The difference between LeBron and KD is that KD look and waits for the action to come to him, while LeBron, especially in big game take it to the action.. Look at that last game, LeBron did not even score that much, but he took over the game on both sides of the ball... So what you don't get the ball, so what your shots are not falling, a true superstar does other things to make sure his team wins... All KD did at the end of todays game is sit around and wait for the ball while doing absolutely nothing to get it himself..

The Spurs exploited KD damn near every possession. On the jelly leg play fans will say he slipped or tripped. His legs gave out, the moment was to big. That's all MVP spotlight.

Heat fans know, that their goal was to make it into the post season healthy and in tact. LeBron was cruising all season, while Durant was playing like the season was on the line... The problem is, when the season was on the line, LeBron played like the MVP while KD played like it was a game in early March..:smh: This is why we are looking at him like a fraud mvp..

Westbrook played 44 mins and took 23 shots hitting 8 of them including shooting 1 for 6 from 3.
Durant played 52 mins and took 25 shots hitting 12 of them.

Westbrook took shots away from Durant. When hits get the inbound and never passes the ball and jacks up a jumper, he is taking shots away from Durant. When he forces a 3 that hits the scoreboard and Durant doesn't touch the ball on the possession, he is taking shots away from Durant.

On the flip, when Fisher plays 33 mins and spends most of it guarding Diaw and Duncan on pick and roll switches and then acts like he didn't foul them when he assaults them on mismatches, you have a coaching and bench issues.

OKC has two 1st round picks. They should package them and move up in the draft and take a SG/SF who can score/create his own shot.

But you gotta admit playing with Westbrook is hard cuz he's a shoot first type of guy as a point guard. Kd had plenty of shots last year when Westbrook was out but he couldn't deliver. I think the fundamental issue with Durant is come playoff time teams get physical with him and he's not the same guy during the regular season. He's a skinny 6 10, he can't body or post anyone constantly, he has a issue slipping on the floor. He's trying to be a dribbling sf at his height, I think hes a great scorer but he needs to modify his game.

Russel has his issues but spurs would swept okc without Westbrook, defensive Westbrook is better than Durant.

And the unfortunate part is that you sincerely don't even recognize how ridiculous this statement is. It makes absolutely no fucking sense sir.

Bro, wtf are you talking about? Did you niggas watch the game on radio??

From the 7minute mark in the 4th quarter on down, EVERY San An offensive set involved pick and rolls with any of the following players, Manu, Duncan, Diaw, Fisher, Ibaka, Jackson. Period.

Where are these KD exploitations you brothers are pulling out your asses???

One time at 1:15 they find Jackson on Leonard and they go to him. Other than that it was as I stated above.

Oh, and yea, KD slipped there. But who grabbed the boards to tie the game, and who then drove the lane to score the go ahead basket when they were down by 4 with 30seconds left?? But that's not clutch right??
