Mayweather fight!! Post links and discussion here!!!!

Yeah Maidana is a beast - what's ill - I think Floyd was actually affected by the shit outside of the ring. I don't know how much - but we all brought it up and dismissed it like naw - Money is good.

This cat is human. I think he needs to re-evaluate his circle of batches and the folks that hang on. Maidana was the agressor but dude landed 25% of his shots..

Oh yeah after having the benefit of already fighting him and making adjustments Floyd would kill him in a rematch.

Yeah. Would probably be like Mayweather vs Castillo II

It sounds good right now but Floyd would probably run through this dude in a rematch. But I for damn sure would rather see a rematch of this than fucking Amir Khan's bum ass trying to fight Floyd.

The rematch can't be his last fight. He has 2 more fights to fulfill his contract with Showtime/CBS.

Yes it can.

Just because he signed to fight six fights doesn't mean he actually has to fight those fights. He can retire anytime he wants just like any athlete.

It was brought up this week and executives at Showtime said if he retires its his right and they wouldn't attempt to take him to court for any money already paid.

I became a fan of his like 7 years ago. That's his M.O. He doesn't let up. And he really doesn't punch himself out. He's heavy handed. I remember when Ortiz knocked him down twice over the first two rounds... and Maidana never stopped throwing punches... eventually just grinded Ortiz's bitch ass down and TKOd him in the 6th...

Yeah that fight and he really impressed me in a loss versus Khan when he seemed done after a body shot and came back to damn near beat Khan.

Khan's punk ass of course never gave him a rematch.

He's a tough muthaphucka.

Whats the feeling about him like down there?

c'mon man Maidana was fighting dirty using his head and in one round tried a knee lift.

He threw a ot but wasn't landing.

he was roughing up mayweather and using his 15 pound advantage to do that but wasn't landing punched except low blows

Many Floyd fans will tell you this was not a blowout victory.
The fight was close. Because Maidana has an akward style.

I was rooting for Floyd, but anyone who watched this fight and thought Floyd 'won easily' is kidding themselves.

Maybe they are just looking at the punch stat numbers. :dunno:

If Floyd focused on the body more, he could of got him out of there. Maidana got a brick for a head.

Yep. Khan barely got out of this fight. He was WINDED from all that running

He wanted no parts of a rematch.

People in Brazil hate Argentinians... they have this real toxic relationship because of soccer so people down here don't fuck with Maidana.... Brazilians are MMA fans anyway...not really big on boxing

I'm just saying if i'm fighting with a certain type of glove and i'm preparing to use that glove........and at the last minute be told I can't? That's a disadvantage somewhat. Probably wouldn't have mattered in the decision but Maidana fighting in bigger gloves than he's fought with in the past? Not bad......

they're not bigger, they were just different. they were the same ounces...they just weren't bare knuckle. check that one thread about it. floy'd guy said the weight was right but distributed so that the front of the glove is basically no padding.

so it wasn't heavier just a regular ass glove instead of one with the padding away from the knuckle

Nope Floyd was affected but what happened in the ring. He fought a live, aggressive fighter who took it to him.

Can't take anything away from Maidana, this would of happened if Ms. Jackson was at Floyd's side tonight and walked him to the ring.

i got the feeling that sum bitch was juiced

Stop it, everyone knows Floyd makes all his opponent's take random drug tests prior to the fight. Maidana is just a tough fighter.

Yeah. Would probably be like Mayweather vs Castillo II

Damn brother you read my mind.

I in no way want Amir Khan getting a shot at Floyd that he in no way deserves.

I'd love to see a rematch before that.

Matter of fact fuck it let Floyd rematch Maidana and let Amir rematch Garcia with the winner facing Floyd next May:yes:

Dudes in denial. They going by the percentage of their punches in regards to Floyd "dominating" this fight. I don't see how anyone who sat here and watched the fight can say anyone "dominated". There was no domination. Floyd himself pretty much said it himself.

he slowed down compared to how aggressive and how much action he had in the beginning. he just simply couldn't do it later after being tagged by floyd after the early barrage.

if he could have, he probably would have won.

but all that action and he's not connecting.. you can see it during the fight. he lands like 3 out of every 12 punches.. they come in bunches but they weren't connecting. he's a great fighter there's nothing to take away from him at all.

Well he's not connecting because he's fighting Floyd. Floyd is the hardest boxer to punch. But the thing about Maidana is that unlike everyone else who couldn't hit Floyd....he kept swinging. Everyone else would just swing and miss on Floyd regardless of the punches thrown and would just tire out. From the beginning to the end Maidana fought his fight and played aggressor. He wasn't good enough to beat Floyd. But he left it all out there and shook up Floyd some. More than anyone else could.

I can agree Maidana with his style made this fight look closer than it was. But he had a good showing.

 Its still a different glove. Heavier or not it doesn't fit like you're accustom to and that's a disadvatnage. That being said, I personally think Floyd would've beat him regardless. Its like that whole steroid shit with Pac. Steroids or not....Pac was gonna catch that L.

its not a knock on him. he should command proper respect. that's not my intent to try and discredit him. he did his thing.

He's myorga 2.0.

:eek::eek:

Crazy as hell.

Mayorga was just tough with no skill and good punching power.

Maidana is tough, great power and some skill which has improved dramatically over the last year.

Duke is nothing like Mayorga.

Yep. Khan barely got out of this fight. He was WINDED from all that running

No doubt, and all that damn holding, pushing, and holding the head down that seems to never get called in his fights is infuriating.

Same shit he did in the Peterson fight.

Damn I didn't know that about Brazil/Argentinians.

With the way all the Latino's, including Mexican's, seem to be riding with Maidana and after such a good showing I figured that shit would spread throughout all of Brazil.

But them being big on MMA makes sense.

Precisely.

Maidana was at no disadvantage tonight because of gloves. He was only at a disadvantage because his gloves were proper and not tampered with.

If taking away one's ability to cheat is considered a disadvantage then yeah I guess Maidana was handicapped by his regulation, completely standard, same brand he always uses glove:lol:

but fuck that

if you gotta fight bare knuckle i wouldn't let that shit happen either. stop being accustomed to fighting bare knuckle

If Floyd would have pushed it just a bit more, he would have knocked his ass out. Floyd had the man hurt several times, but let him off the hook. Early, Maidana won a few rounds, but when them body shots started kicking in, he slowed the fuck down. LOL If there is a rematch, Floyd should stop him. I would immediately attack his body. When he comes in and foul, I would elbow the fuck out that dude. See he stopped hitting Floyd low. Floyd was teeing off on that nigga below the belt. Maidana stopped that shit. LOL Maidana really don't want no more parts of that. He knows he lost. His corner is proud of his showing, but other than that. He knows he will be stopped the next time. `

But get paid  Rather see mayweather-khan though

They just hating because PBF lives an extravagant lifestyle. Judges ain't biting the hand that feeds them in this rotten economy. It was close. I score it 115-113 Money. West Coast foreigners hate to see their blk neighbors doing better than them (Africans included) Finally, you must have peeped AB and young PBF "Mexican" comments. Gray wasn't haven't none of it.

Floyd will retire for sure after tonight's performance, we all saw why Floyd will never fight Pacquiao, he cannot handle good pressure....

Question: If this was a 15rds fight would there been an unanimous decision? And would there have been a knock down:hmm:
What about those low blow????
My bad

Nigga please.

Pac could never do what Maidana did.

Pac is an in the middle of the ring rhythm fighter.

Maidana gave Floyd problems because he was able to hold him on the ropes and threw and connected enough when he had Floyd there.

Add to that Maidana was damn near 20 pounds heavier than Floyd and a true KO puncher with an 80 percent KO rate.

Pac would fight Floyd in the middle of the ring and wouldn't pressure Floyd that way. Floyd could easily make someone like Pac miss and counter him as he's accustomed to doing.

And despite the BS myth, Pac isn't a KO puncher, he's an accumulation puncher. He has power but not one punch KO power (with the exception of the Hatton fight and some fights in lower weight classes). His advantage is speed and the amount of punches he lands.

Apples and oranges playboy.

He just handled the pressure man...that's the point. He didn't back down or shrivel up. And why would Bob Arum being laughing his ass off? Dude is still waiting on the Las Vegas arena.

WAs it that wacky female judge? No female judges tonight.

Stupidity of judges isn't limited to gender, they all make dumb decisions and more men seem to do it than women.

Question: If this was a 15rds fight, would the UD? And would there been a knock down:hmm:

Explain your question, I don't understand what your trying to ask.

Bob Arum is far from laughing his ass off.

Pac's PPV numbers are falling fast and they've run out of opponents for him.

The only viable opponent that they can sell is Provodnikov but that don't want to risk it because that Russian is tough as shit and would probably KO Pac.

Notice how you haven't heard anything about the Pac-Bradley PPV numbers? They usually brag about that shit the week after the fight when the numbers become clear but I've heard nothing from them about it.

but fuck that

if you gotta fight bare knuckle i wouldn't let that shit happen either. stop being accustomed to fighting bare knuckle

I agree. I'm more pissed they didn't think that was a problem. Over there sitting there playing dumb like "What? We can't use these gloves? They're brand name...." and shit like that.

you're crazy. He handled the pressure and won

And Arum is not laughing cuz Mayweather is not gonna break bread with him and that withering cash cow he has who is only a shell of himself these days.:lol:

It was definitely a tough, close fight. That headbutt really bothered Floyd IMO. IDK if he lost a step but he looked a little bit slow this fight. Maidana couldn't handle them body shots. Props to both fighters for bringing it though.

Watching a fight over gives you a different perspective, Maidana was missing so many shots that I could see why that judge came up with the 117-111 scorecard.
