The numbers are a little bit deceptive.

Maidana won a few early rounds.
He dominated early.

But Mayweather came back and won the later rounds.
When Maidana was throwing wild shots. And missing.

just because dude was punching a lot don't mean he was winning.

he didn't hurt floyd and he didn't land at a high clip. floyd threw way less and landed more. you can't win a fight when someone is hitting you half the time they throw their punches.. and that's with it tailing off towards the end. at one point he was connecting at a 69% clip.

first few rounds dude windmilled.
after that it was curtains.

i was nervous, if he could have kept it up the whole fight, might be a little different. but no way he could throw 100 punches a round.

he never knocked down floyd.

and floyd just stood there with a brawler and came out the victor.

I called it 116-112 before the cards were read. I called it during the fight. You could give Maidana 2 rounds max after round 5 and that's with giving him the last round. You could give him round 8 and nothing else.

It was lopsided in terms of how was effectively landing punches. All that activity doesn't count for much if you aren't landing punches.

Floyd landed more punches and throw half as many as Maidana. That means he clearly outboxed him. Maidana needed a knock down for two to win this.
