They loved all the publicity they got from that fiasco last year.
If they could get away with it they'd do it all over again for that type of publicity and ratings.
They dont start really talking about big brother until around May.
How is the Canadian version vs. The U.S. version?

i know a lot of people who love it tho
I'm afraid to try any other ones since the U.S. version is so addicting. I would have no life and never get laid if I started watching all these versions all year round

It's pretty lame on the whole, but still enjoyable for hardcore Big Brother fans who've liked the series/franchise since day 1. It's filmed in Toronto. Bright, colorful house & good layout. I'm just surprised it took us this long to get the show in Canada. The US version came about back in 2000/2001. The other international versions have been around for seasons, and we finally got season 1 in the first 1/4 of 2013, and the 2nd season this current 1st quarter of 2014. The US prizing is still $500,000 if memory serves correctly. It is doing strong numbers for the Slice network though, so it'll be back for seasons to come (my guess). The prizing is $100,000 ... a new car, and $25,000 giftcard to The Brick (home furniture & electronics, etc).

I don't know if I'd go through all that for 100,000 though. Mental torture, cant shit or shower without being filmed. Naw I would need at least 500,000. If the ratings and popularity grow I'm sure they'll up the prize money.
Yeah - seems like it's found its niche. Wed, Thurs, and Sun' shows and the 3-hour nightly "After Dark" show like for the US version. I hear you regarding going through all that (2 - 3 months) for lesser prizing. My take is that it's reduced due to budgetary restrictions & lesser sponsors (CBS vs. Slice, etc) and also the fact that the Canadian population's only around 35 million or whatever (so 1/10th that of the US). So in relation the prizing's pretty good as the car's worth a good $20 - 30k too, so total prizing's around $145 - 155,000 with the money, Brick giftcard & car, so just under 1/3rd that of the American series.

Season 2's been pretty good on the whole, come to think of it. The underdogs are coming through. They've weeded out the majority of the dominant players and they're now down to about 6 people. 4 of them on one side, 2 on the other (and they're on the block for eviction next week). The alliances this season have been The First Five (first 5 people through the door at the start of the season) / The Sloppy Seconds (the current underdogs who have been owning shit in recent weeks) / The Gremlins (the 2 chicks on the block right now), The Goof Troop (2 of the dudes in the Sloppy Seconds crew with the broads). What's cool too is that they've included some of that double-eviction and instant eviction shit ... as well as a secret room. The secret room being a soundproof room within the house wherein they put 3 people inside (with a handful of TV screens with no volume) and had them there for 1 week or so. After that week was up Canada had voted one of them into the house (a good 2 weeks or so after everybody else for the season was already inside). Caught everyone off guard. They also brought the chick who was voted in by Canada back to the secret room (through a secret wall in the house) to claim a surprise Power of Veto. Also, they sequestered one of the final 6 people at present and took her to the secret room as well ... kept her there for a few hours, and then told her she had 5 minutes to nominate 2 people for the instant eviction. Interesting shit. Good to see the underdogs doing big things though ... people that shouldn't have lasted this long as they've outlasted other power players.

I'm just hoping they don't bring any former players back. They've tried that like 3 of the last 5 seasons and that shit sucks IMO.
I want new people and way more twists. There hasn't been a decent, unpredictable twist on this show in some time.
And hopefully some good looking women, and at least one good looking sister (Candie spoiled me last year).
And I'm hoping Alex comes through with the link to the live feeds again like last year that shit was a lookout and had me into the season even more.

True - CBS needs to be careful with the programming. They really like to have returning players / all-star seasons with their main reality programming in BB, Survivor, and Amazing Race. You know they've run out of ideas at times ... when people come back 3 - 4 times to play Survivor as some players have done over the years.
hopefully there will be no closet racists and homophobes in the cast this time around..
TMZ sure had a field day with the 2 blonde hoes on BB US in 2013, didn't they? Damn ... Harvey & his crew were working overtime keeping up with those broads.
