With black women getting the message DAILY, not just from the media and white America but often our own men, that we are not relationship let alone marriage material, images to the contrary help squash that mess. So every chance a thread comes up that is hell bent on making black women feel like shit or less than women of other races, I'm more than willing to post these sites to give a counter image. For the men that aren't checking for black women anyway, they shouldn't care, right?

All this......black folks also have to realize that because we are a minority and scattered about....after a volume concentrated place like college.....your career might put you in a place where there aren t a lot of black ppl period......

When I go to certain conferences geared towards people of color doing business I'm always happy to see so fucking many fine black chics in one place, handling their biz AND looking for men b/c they realize (after hitting the real world, and getting a little older) that their equals/betters are harder to find... Yes! you're right there are a lot of bm who do not find bw's looks to be ideal. The reason why is you live in a majority white country where the media is controlled by whites. In marketing the way you formulate and shape peoples minds is through repetition. White women are perceived to be the ideal standard of beauty cause they are the women who belong to the controlling group. There's no incentive for wm to promote the beauty of black women considering black women cannot produce white babies, especially in this country where being half black/half white is considered the same as being full black.
White supremacy can't last if wm are promoting the beauty of other races of women and having their men marrying out. You need white babies to maintain white supremacy. That's why you got people like Bill O'reilly complaining about low birth rates among white women.
Now back to the black women's beauty. A man regardless of race can find beauty in any race of women, but if you notice they way American media portrays black women the one's deemed beautiful are always light-skin or mixed and the dark skin more African phenotype's are always casts negatively. Ever wonder why all the commercials/print ads have fat dark skin women and slim light skin women. Years of watching TV shows and ads will shape your mind of beauty standards. It doesn't help black women that dark skin is considered masculine.
Now me spending time living in Nigeria I know what a beautiful dark skin woman looks like. There's no balance in terms of how black women are portrayed cause blacks don't control the media. I'm old enough to remember when rap videos started becoming popular most featured brown/black women in the lead female role, then black women cried to Oprah and other black feminist about how rap is misogynist and you started to be replaced by lightskin black women/hispanic/racially ambiguous women. That's where black women shot themselves in the foot. If you want to be acknowledge for your beauty you gotta start somewhere. Notice hispanic women ain't complaining about being portrayed in rap videos.
Ironically because black men do not work together, do not build anything and stupidly are the least tribal/racist people in the country they don't have the same urge to keep it within the race as other groups do.
If I had a dime for every post y'all get pissed at about celebrity interracial marriages and couples I'd be a millionaire. If a black woman is successful, she will likely marry a successful man and if her surroundings are majority white she can likely find a white male to marry. Of course it works the other way around as well. It's not so hard to believe another race is attracted to black males or females.

Professional black organization conferences, homecomings of your college run by the Black alumni organizations, friends and family connections, social/cultural events, and these days even Match.com...

I read somewhere that 75% black female lawyers leave their firms after the first five years, I think it was discussed on BGOL.

Yeah they hate that shit (long hours--hard to date, boring documents to read, high pressure, and most importantly--no one is trying to make them a partner at the firm) after they pay off their law school/undergrad loans--they dip. They usually become in house attorneys--usually in their early to mid 30s at all kinds of corporations or go into non-profit... Problem is, they're 30something at this point, and usually aren't really 'domesticated'...
