Yea people are missing the point. . . He really is trying to break barriers for people of color. But people think this is ego driven, I know fashion is minuscule but that's just a metaphor for what he is really trying to express.

Why is he begging white designers for acceptance? He rich, start your own shit fuck all these racist Italian faggots.

Because he's not trying to have a Rocawear, Sean John brand. They'd consider him urban and another rapper fashion line. In couture fashion lines like Fendi, LV, Gucci have designers like Marc Jacobs design thier lines for them. He wants to be a black Marc Jacobs but nobody respects him because he's a rapper. In the interview he said he did a internship and put in the hours like a real student of fashion would but people still won't let him design a line fire a flagship brand.

is he entitled to run fendi? why doesn't he go to richard choo?

who goes from an internship to being Marc Jacobs though, unless they just put their own money into it.

I can actually see someone like Diddy becoming that if he wants- because by now he's put in YEARS running his own brand. He mentioned Stella Mcartney and wanting a deal like hers, but if you check her resume, she's not just Paul Mcartneys daughter- she put in WORK as an intern and working for others.

I think he's oversimplifying the issue.

There are other Black designers out there, and I'm sure they've run into legit problems. I feel like he's misrepresenting THEIR struggle.

And to shit on "urban" brands like ROcawear etc... is the classist shit he's talking about

So he hates classism but is being classist? Those brands look stereotypical hip hop he doesn't have to make corny baggy shit so that point makes no sense. He wants to sell 300 dollar t shirts because whites do it.:smh:

exactly then he still wears their shit and promotes them:smh:

I see both your points and it's a very valid one but I will say this in the fashion industry the Italians and Europeans are the taste makers (we can argue this point and you can say you don't rock that shit but fact is the majority of the world does) so if that's the industry you want to be in it only makes sense that you would what to or have to work with those people. You bring up starting your own or other black clothing brands. I ask you this which of those brands is still relevant? And I don't mean urban I mean on a global scale. Every black fashion brand was a fad and faded away with the exception of Sean John and let's be honest who really rocks that shit? He said he wanted to be like Ralph Lauren. I'm 32 I rocked my 1st polo shirt when I was like 6. Brands like that are timeless they never ever go out of style. What if he wants to work with this people to learn from them and gain credibility within the industry so when he does launch his own brand it will be respected and last. Now I don't like the fact that he feels like he has to go to these people to attain credibility but maybe he is smart enough to know that if he launched his own brand it would be like Roc A Wear be cool for 5yrs sell it for a few mil and then what? He won't be Ralph Lauren.

what is considered "classic" is in the eye of the beholder.

I'm sorry you feel ashamed to rock clothes that were designed with you in mind, and by people who look like you.

Thats more key to why those brands are closed than anything else.

Newsflash- theres only ONE Ralph Lauren. Theres a shit load of White guys who would wanna be him too.

And billions so called "white" fashion lines come and go too- ever heard of saddlebred? Duckhead? billions of others who made standard polo shirts, chinos, and whatever else.

From what I understand he did a internship like 6 year ago and had been involved in fashion since forever. He is more about fashion then he is about rapping. He said he put in the 10000 hours. I just think people don't know how involved he is with the fashion so they make assumptions Luke you just did.

We can argue opinions but fact is Ralph Lauren has been around for ever and isn't going any where. Ever urban fashion brand has faded and gone out of style that's fact not opinion. We are not debating what I wear this has nothing to do with me and you personally. Why did Fubu , Maurice Malone etc go out of style? I don't have the answer but if it was still in style I would still be rocking those urban brands.

He intered 6 years ago, put in 10,000 hours? When would he have had the time? 2007 he released Graduation, then his mom died a year after. Between finishing Graduation, touring that album release, mourning his mothets death, and recording 808s and Heartbreak, when did he have the time to devote the 10000 hours?

10000 hours divided by 6 hours/day = 4 1/2 years.

Kanye is very busy, can't see him doing the 10,000 hours to master a skill route as.seen in Outliers.

kanye is a creative genius. he has the potential to do some worldchanging shit but...

its clear that he NEEDS white acceptance.

its clear that he needs or needed to take some time to mourn his moms death

did this nigga really say kim k should have a star on the walk of fame?:smh:

Judge Judy, The Rugrats (cartoon characters), David Spade and Thomas Edison have stars on the walk. It's not the lifetime achievement/exclusive honor most people think it is.

That can be said about anybody who is striving for excellence in a white dominated society. You can say that about Barack, Fredrick Douglas and so on. So is he looking for acceptance or striving for excellence?

All those classic albums he dropped were a collective effort between him and others, white and black. His last album was reduced by Rick Ruben. To do great things your gonna need acosign, all he is looking for is his Dame Dash in the fashion industry.

Their claim to fame was not sucking a dick and getting fucked on camera.

no he's not fuck that dumb shit

dude got enough money and clout to start his own fucking company and compete and beat these white establishments and he could hire black people to do it.

instead

he's begging to get a seat at the table and for them to say they like him

fuck that dumb shit

he ain't trying to break down barriers he'd probably get in and tell them that he's the only one they should fuck with

FUCK THEM and what they consider.

so he jumped through hoops trying to get in and they still wouldn't let him and he still won't start his own shit...

you are an urban brand if you sell urban clothing period.

fuck what they think or consider.

you make money and you set the trends and fuck their closed circle you change the rules, that's breaking barriers down.

not kissing their ass and hoping for the best smh

This.

People are silly as fuck if they really think Kanye is doing all of this to cross barriers "for his people".

He's doing this for himself. I don't think there is anything wrong with that either, but let's call it what it is. He's not mad that black people don't have access. He's mad that HE is not being given easy access to what other whites might have if they were in his situation.

Kayne is the very definition of a narcissist.

Kanye makes good music...dude has mad talent.... but all this crying in the media, calling himself the goat, and calling himself a social revolutionary (all white carrying that used up white bitch) is all too much contradiction for me to take dude seriously. He comes off like a spoiled brat.

I tell ya what- go look up Ralph Lauren's bio , see where he started, and tell me the difference between what he did before you ever heard of his classic lines and what we know of Kanye.

completely. the idea of him being accepted by them as well as painting himself as the pioneer or the one to do something for black people= too appealing to not get up on the cross for

You're comparing Kanye to Barack Obama and Frederick Douglass.

We're in worse trouble than I thought

thats my whole point bro. urban clothing cater to whats hot right now. first it was baggy now its skinny jeans. thats why a lot dont make it. plus a lot of rappers that have clothing line are trying to make a quick buck when they hot. thats why when they start to fall off their clothing line goes with it. thats the reason sean jean is still hot right now. diddy took his time and build it.

ralp lauren etc. they make shit that they feel are hot and people buy it. i guess you can say they put in work and build a brand. kanye can do the same damn shit if he is so passionate about it he can take his time and build it. if its hot its hot. but he kinda wants to piggy bank on the big name brands. people aren't going to buy it cause its kanye they are buying it cause its raulp lauren at the end of the day altho the design was made by kanye.

shit if i brought shit to them and they dont want it. and later they bring the same design out and its hot i know i am on the right track. that would motivate me more.
holy shit- you and I agree on something. I'm gonna go lay down
:lol::hmm::lol:

Exactly. And this is why the whole "yall dont get it, hes saying some deep shit" commentary is both ridiculous and laughable. Kanye has yet to say anything "deep" or ground breaking. He sounds like a petulant child throwing a temper tantrum because mommy wont let him sit at the grown up table. I understand glass ceilings and barriers but what you guys seems to be missing is that at the crux of the matter is a broken hearted man-child who is dealing with the rejection which comes with the realization that he cannot buy his way into white euro-fag acceptance. There is nothing admirable about that. The basis on his argument is that im rich, im non threatening, i entertain you, i dance for you, sing to you, i talk white at work, i financially support and advertise for you, i sleep with white woman, yet you guys wont take me seriously and give me a seat at your table. He bought into the fake smiles and hollywood relationships from the fashion elite and thought his celebrity trumped his skin shade, and was given a rude awakening when he attempted to use those "relationships" to enter the fashion world as a legit player.

How can a child raised by educators and civil rights advocates be surprised at any of this? And how can a extremely young self made multi millionaire with limitless resources and contacts allow this to limit and frustrate him to the point of near madness?? This guy is a clown.

Ferruccio Lamborghini, the man who would found Automobili Ferruccio Lamborghini S.p.A. in 1963, was the child of viticulturists living in Renazzo di Cento, Province of Ferrara, in the Northern Italy's Emilia-Romagna region.[3][14][15] After serving as a mechanic in the Italian Royal Air Force during World War II, Lamborghini went into business building tractors based on surplus WWII military hardware.[16][17] By the mid-1950s, Lamborghini's tractor company, Lamborghini Trattori S.p.A.,[18] had become one of the largest agricultural equipment manufacturers in the country.[19] He was also the owner of a successful gas heater and air conditioning manufacturer.[16][19][20]

Lamborghini's wealth allowed him to cultivate a childhood interest in cars, owning a number of luxury automobiles including Alfa Romeos, Lancias, Maseratis, and a Mercedes-Benz.[20] He purchased his first Ferrari, a 250GT, in 1958, and went on to own several more. Lamborghini was fond of the Ferraris, but considered them too noisy and rough to be proper road cars, likening them to repurposed track cars.[20] When Lamborghini discovered that the clutch on his Ferrari was broken, and actually was the same clutch that he used on his tractors, Lamborghini went to Ferrari (the owner) and asked for a better replacement. Ferrari responded, saying that he was just a tractor maker, and could not know anything about sports cars.[20][21][22] Lamborghini decided to pursue an automobile manufacturing venture with the goal of bringing to life his vision of a perfect grand tourer.[19]
