I don't know where you live but your statement is complete horse shit. From my experience I've noticed that black women maintain themselves less than every other race of women. When was the last time anyone ever seen a black woman in a hair salon getting her hair washed and set? I don't think anyone has ever seen this shit... However, we've all seen them in the spot getting a weave or some god damn braid extensions.
When do you see black women in the gym really working out? I go to a gym in a Brazilian neighborhood, and ALL of those women be putting it in. They be grinding hard doing weights, cardio, and everything else they can do... The few black girls that are there usually just sit on machines talking, or doing some leg/butt shit as if the rest of their bodies aren't important, only their ass. 
Every other racial group's women build up their men. They support them and have their backs. Black women are a cancer to black men. If the boss is a black woman and the black man does anything at all, she will try and get him fired... Meanwhile if that same boss was white, he wouldn't go that route. Most here will agree, black women in positions of authority are complete shit...especially towards black men.
Todays black woman has done nothing to aid and assist the black man. All she's good for is getting pregnant and taking the black man to child support... THey do this at an alarming rate versus all other races... 72% black women, 53% hispanic, 35% white, etc, etc, etc....

I'm going to be completely honest with you and BGOL about something. I used to be in 'building sessions' with 5 percenters and Rastas, and all sorts of 'conscious' individuals for years, starting around age 15.
I eventually stopped 'building' with them, because I noticed all the knowledge we shared was focused on our pasts. There were no subsantive discussions on building a strong black community. It was talked about, but there was nothing practical ever really discussed.
My point?
In many ways that they don't realize, black people feel defeated.
There is a guy from my hometown who was really good at basketball, but he doesn't have it anymore. All he talks about at the court is how he use to be able to take cats to school on the court. This is what many 'conscious' black people sound like to me.
Am I to conclude that black people believe more in their pasts than their futures?
It doesn't matter that black people were the first if we weren't able to maintain that position. UNLESS, there is going to be some divine interventions that comes in and right that wrong, shit is what it is.
Most black people I speak to irl and online seem to be clueless about what it takes to build the black community back up again.
I'm tired of hearing 'conscious' black people talk about the past. Even after I was no longer an '85er' according to some dudes working dead end jobs, with a zillion children, I still felt empty.
I had 'knowledge of self', and yet I still felt empty.
That emptiness stemmed from the fact that history is cool, but life is lived in the present. Personally my feeling of pride stems MORE from what I am able to accomplish, and help facilitate in the present and future than what happened in the past. You can be the greatest ever at something, but if you don't continue to do what you've always done AT LEAST to maintain that position, someone will come and take it from you.
So, while I'm sure there is something to be said about the envy of black women...

As an adult, it's even MORE remarkable. When I was in Atlanta in 2012, I saw so many overweight black women that it was damn near depressing. A fit black woman was not necessarily a RARE sight, but it certainly wasn't common.
In 2004, I was on my deathbed, yet upset because my family and friends were crying over me. I hate pity and excuses. It was my fault that I was on my deathbed, so how was I worthy of pity?
My point is, I hear a lot of excuses from black women about everything, but this world ONLY care about results. I personally only care about results. We live in a results based world. Wishing that wasn't true is a royal waste of time.
I don't put black women on pedestals because they aren't worthy of being put on pedestals.
Far too many are loud, and abrasive, and it's all because they are immensely insecure about their physical appearances which many are altering to look less African.
