New England Patriots Vs. New York Jets 9-12-2013 Thread

That was probably the worst football game I have ever seen:smh:

Guess I better get use to it...

FOXBORO — Danny Amendola will miss between two and six weeks of action after tweaking a groin injury in the season-opening win over the Bills last Sunday, according to a report from the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Amendola was listed on the first injury report of the season with a groin injury and played with no apparent issues in the first quarter. But on a crossing route in the end zone late in the second quarter Sunday, he reached for his groin and sat out the remainder of the half.

He returned in the second half to catch seven passes, including four on the game-winning drive that ended in Stephen Gostkowski‘s 35-yard field goal. Amendola finished with 10 catches on 14 targets for 104 yards.

Amendola missed the third preseason game against the Lions with what at the time was an unspecified injury suffered in the second preseason game against Tampa Bay. He has not said if the groin injury was what kept him out in the third preseason week.

Amendola will miss Thursday’s game against the Jets and has played in just 13 of his team’s last 33 games dating back to the beginning of the 2011 season.

Wow...who could have seen that coming:smh:

Signing this guy who has missed half the games in his career, while letting a guy who never missed a game go:smh::smh:

Good call Bill....

Mariucci trying his best to cape for Tom Brady acting how he was acting tonight.

Talking bout we don't know what's going on behind the scenes. Like Irving is saying "I didn't see him upset when he was making mistakes"

Guess who the Cowboys traded with to get Dez....

The Pats never would have drafted him, but they should have.

The Patriots are so arrogant thinking they can replace Welker with someone that's injury prone...

The talking heads should not ignore the stupidity of the Pats thinking they could just plug in and replace Wes Welker

Especially with injury prone ass Amendola

Arrogance blowing up right in their faces

Edleman flimsy ass is up next

Don't quote me trying to defend it that shit was stupid

That's why I say Belichick use to be the smartest guy in the room...

The whole Welker thing was about Belichick's ego.

Last season he tried to bench Welker, was giving all his reps to Edelman.

Then Edleman got hurt, and Welker ended up with his 100 plus catches.

And Brady never says shit but the company line:smh:

The only time he has ever spoken up a little bit was when they let Moss go...

His whole career has been with sup-par receivers, except when they had Moss.

This crew now....maybe they will get better...but these first two games they have been brutal.

They got Brady in check with the company man shit but honestly he should have spoken up a little louder about this Welker shit

You right he did say something about Moss(still haven't replaced him) and I do remember reading him not being happy about them letting Welker go and lowballing him but still

Look at the product he is throwing the ball to, he has earned the right to speak on that fuckery

Damn they miss Vareen.

Naw, they miss Welker, Lloyd, Hernandez, Danny and Gronk. They ain't never needed to rely on the run, their receiving corp ain't shit right now. Brady done barely passed for 50% in two games straight.

No doubt they miss those guys. Vareen is a better receiving back than Ridley is so he can basically line up at multiple positions as he did in game 1. He gave the Pats another receiving option, out of the backfield, that helped shore up the weakness at WR. You'll notice they don't throw to Ridley as much. Even without starting I read all pre-season that the Pats planned to use him a lot in the receiving game to make up for the lose of those that you mentioned.

Old friend John Lynch shared a fascinating story on how Wes Welker came to become a Denver Bronco this offseason. Here's what he tells Jay Glazer:

It went quietly - (adding Welker) wasn't a priority (for Denver) - they've got two pretty good receivers. But Welker picked up the phone; we share the same agent, and we're buddies.

He said, "John, would you talk to your buddy Elway, and just let me talk to him? Get me on the phone with him, and I'll sell him on why I can help Denver win a Super Bowl. There's two places I'm playing: New England and Denver, because I'll either play with Tom or Peyton. Just let me get on the phone."

I talked to John, and I said, "Just talk to the guy."

(Elway) talked to (Welker), and he signed him the next day.

So, how did Welker pitch himself to Elway?

What (Welker) told me is, "Look, you've got Demaryius and Decker out there, it's easy to double those two. If you put me in there, forget about it. Who are you going to double?"
Pretty cool, right?

Folks have been saying all morning....you have to run the football.....

these offensive coordinators are pass happy....its a sign of the times....bullshit instead of grind...

If the Jets would have run a little bit more they would have most likely stayed in field goal range....

when you are on the 32 yard line down by 3 run for 3 - 4 yards and kick a 35+ yard FG for the tie...

The running game was working for them, but they went away from it...They even mentioned it during the broadcast that Marty Mornhinweg dont like to run the ball...:smh::smh::smh:

Jets had over 120 yards on the ground, Chris Ivory was doing his thing, but then Ivory got the ball ONCE in the ENTIRE 4th quarter!

I saw Brady skip at least one pass. Didn't see him throw a tantrum afterwards. Fuck the Pats. Fuck Bellicheat and Brady. No chips since Spygate.

a lot of these teams are gonna learn......:smh:

Marty lost the game completely on his own yesterday...

a rookie QB in the rain and you are standing 3rd and 4 on the oppositions 32 yardline down by 3 on the road.....

and you pass???????????

dude should be fired simply for that.......

NFL...Not For Long,Kid...looked like he was trying to catch a porcupine on this one.

Aaron Dobson's career got off to a scorching start tonight against the Jets, as the first snap of his NFL life turned into a 39-yard touchdown catch.

The rest of the game was forgettable. After the scoring grab, Dobson only caught two of nine balls for 17 yards, and he dropped four passes.

"That’s definitely not acceptable to drop the ball," Dobson said. "I’m a receiver, so that’s what I do is catch the ball."

On the bright side, Dobson got open enough to draw that many looks, but at the end of the day, getting open doesn't mean squat when the receiver can't finish the play.

"I feel like there are definitely things that we can improve on," Dobson said. "We had a short week this week, so we’ve got 10 days off right now, so we’ve got to get our timing and stuff together this week going into the next game."

Dobson said it's got to be cut and dry with his ability to move ahead.

"You’ve got to have a short memory," Dobson said. "If a bad play happens, you’ve got to leave it there and move on, go to the next series or next drive."

that was his most consistent and reliable target. If Brady had any nuts, Welker would be there. How do you let your best target go over to your biggest conference competition for no damn good reason...:smh:

I had high hopes for this kid. Thought he'd do better. Hopefully it's just rookie jitters but a couple of those dropped passes were unbearable to watch. If he can catch, the Pats will need him to win against teams better than Buffalo and the Jets. Edelman ain't killin' nobody with those 5 yrd routes.

Brady is a fag. You should know this by now.

i picked him up on my fantasy team...how you gonna have like 13 catches and only produce 7 fucking points :smh::smh::smh:
