I used to work with autistic kids back in the days, and one day management decided it was a good idea taking them to sesame place in P.A.
So long story short we go there, take the kids on the webbed cargo net thing thats hanging high above the park, started directing them to go on the net, when all of a sudden, the last kid said he had to pee...
Being that it was only me and my co-worker there, at the time, he decided to escort the little one while I hold down the ones on the net..
Well lil dude didn't make it, instead he whipped out his joint and pee'd down on the net, making it rain on the people below.
My co worker tries to take him down the stairs, but half way down I heard the following..
WTF!! Why you bring those retard here in the first place!!!! That mother fucker pee's all on my family and food!!!
Do you know how it feels to drive 5 hours be all hungry, get ready to eat and get pee'd on.. I should kick your ass!!!
Moral of the story is what you do with special needs kids can really tick off people..
And in the case of the lady who wrote the letter, some people you tick off, can be more mentally challenged than the kid..

So you are basing it off of one word? No mention of this unsupervised kid going into her yard or bothering her "normal" kids physically which would be the boundaries part I assume but a paragraph about noise? No mention of this kid running in the street or anything. "Put" was enough to write your own narrative about this situation?

If you don't understand how one word can change a whole sentence, paragraph or story then you should stay off the Internet and just watch TV. Look at these two sentences: "I put the dog outside." and "I took the dog outside."
And, as far as boundaries are concerned, you missed a word: generally. Let me explain:
"Generally, children with autism don't understand boundaries", that means MOST. Not ALL. I work at a center that provides services for children with autism. The doors all have LOCKS. You can't go outside unless you have a key, or you get buzzed out. This prevents the children from running outside into traffic.
I don't think this letter was written by a women I think a man wrote this letter. Either way this is awful that is some of the most hateful shit I've ever read. If they really had a problem with the child yelling why not just take it up with the mother of the child. I'm sure she's frustrated as well if he's yelling that loud around the house she probably gets frustrated beyond belief and needs a few minutes to gather herself. There were better ways to handle this and on top of being a hateful letter it took even more hate to actually type it up formally and deliver it.

Many of the have claustrophobia so taking a regular kid to the movies may be cool, but to some autistic kids that would be hell.. Many of them get overstimulated by movement noises, and a lot of commotion, this is often why they scream and hold their ears while they are screaming...
They are called special needs, because they have special needs, and if the people who are caring for do what is best for the kids instead of trying "normalize" the kids, by doing "normal" kids activities, then the kids would suffer much less.
But getting back at dumb ass management , there was an autistic kid who love strings, but management told us to take the string away from him, and dude would wild the fuck out.. I told them fuck that, let him have the string, monitored him to make sure he did not choke himself with it, and dude was good ten time more happy than he would be if I took him to the amusement park or movies.. occur..
So in your experience you would have to lock doors on autistic children to prevent them from going into traffic but you read into that letter that this mother put her kid out unsupervised and yet the neighbors only complaint is essentially noise. Let's say you are correct and the child was unsupervised. Apparently he has been able to limit his behavior to making noise. Now what is the proper response to this situation. I would assume that if you chose to write a letter, it would be about your concern for a lack of supervision not noise... Am I correct? Maybe one direct sentence about supervision? Is that something you would think anyone would consider to put in a letter address this parent of the autistic child? If your are a piece of shit like this mother.... who pulls no punches, why not take the extra shot are their parenting skills?
