That part is somewhat obvious to allude to the end of the show. It's his same state when they did the flash forward at the beginning of the season when he was in the restaurant ordering breakfast. And when he gave the waitress his ID he had a different name...and also his age was 52 which would be a year later than the current. So basically at some point he's going to be on the run at the end of the show.
