Deion Sanders: Blacks Have ‘Audacity’ to Judge Cooper For Using ‘N’ Word

Just like with Paula Deen we gotta save whites for their fuck ups?

Former NFL player Deion Sanders took the time to share his thoughts on the controversy surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Deion-Sanders-600x448Riley Cooper using the “N” word during a concert. On Saturday, during a pre-Hall of Fame Show, Sanders said that he finds it “baffling” that black players are holding Cooper accountable for saying a word that they themselves use.

Sanders said he is disturbed that black people will say the word to each other in locker rooms and on rap songs but will demonize “a kid who made a mistake” in using the word.

Sanders said the people who are judging Cooper have probably said something in the privacy of their own homes that they don’t want to get out.

“[Cooper] said something under pressure that really told us what’s inside of him. I can forgive him for that. But I cannot for one minute think that [those going after Cooper] have not said something in [their] home, in [their] workplace, at a club partying, or just among friends that [they] don’t want to get out,” Sanders said.

Sanders then asked, “[Yet] you have the audacity to judge this kid?”

Then Sanders concluded, “it baffles [him] how African-Americans can say [the word] to one another, but when the other race says it, [they] see a problem.”

In Sanders’ mind, blacks shouldn’t use the “N” word if they don’t want whites to use it. Do you agree with Sanders or is he off the mark?

man I'm done...I need to move to a country w/ a limited amount of black + white idiots

I have no clue why people keep relating this to the slang term "nigga". It doesn't matter if we say it like that, that wasn't the context of it and was the furthest thing from Cooper's mind when he said "*******". That's neither here or there in this situation. Now I'd get this argument if we were talking about that V-Nasty white bitch from that white girl rap group saying it because she just thinks it's a trend, but that's not the case here at all.

Deion and Irvin are both some simple and basic ass negroes though. Ol' brainwashed holy-rollers when they want to be. That's how a lot of them middle aged bamas are.

done.

Deion needs to stick to dancing endzone jigs and high stepping and leave the social commentary to someone intelligent enough to articulate a sensible point.

Why is it when these niggas get these TV jobs they all fight to be the safe brother and begin to shame their race on national television?

This is pathetic

I knew this was his stance from the title. What the fuck Deion dumbass think allowing white players to say it will all of a sudden shame black people into not saying it? :smh: Stupid reasoning. Even if nigga and ****** are really the same shit at it's root, at least recognize that a cultural shift took place with the use that word with black people.

It's one thing to say it in the home behind closed doors but at work!?!? C'mon Deion wtf is wrong with this dude.

This is going to be controversial, but I thought about it...

...and Deion Sanders saying this makes me believe it even more strongly.

There are people in the black community who are willing to kiss up to white people, and lambast their own people openly.

Why?

Well, to be frank, these people are basically comparing and contrasting the pros and cons of kissing up and black solidarity...

...and conclude that their are far more benefits to kissing up to white people than their are to black solidarity.

What do we have to offer them?

Hope?

Nick Cannon let Nugent come on his show and wild the fuck out. Why? The white man's check is too good.

Deion is out there tap dancing? What can we offer him NOT to tap dance?

Clarence Thomas is one of the biggest coons to ever live. Why wouldn't he be?

The fact of the matter is we don't get respect from other races, and even some within our race because we don't do nothing but talk shit and swallow spit That's ALL we do. People would hate us even more if we actually stood on our word, and become the force that we were decades ago, but at least they'd respect us.

You may hate the dude who'll blow your brains out for talking shit to him, but you'll think really long and hard before you talk to him sideways though, right?

We create shit, and let other people profit off of our creation.

No one respects us, because they wouldn't do the shit we do.

We go out to vote and don't even have an agenda. We just vote.

Who does that?

So, bash these sell-outs if you must, but what is the black community offering them to buy into?

Not a damn thing.

We get heated for a month or so, and go back to lettin' the world fuck us over.

Shit may sound harsh, but I'm sick of momentary solidarity.

Deion's my dude but I can't cosign 100% with him on this. I'll be happy when someone acknowledges the historical context (past and present) of using the word and how it extends beyond the act of just saying it.

At least he pointed out that's what's really inside Cooper though and didn't repeat that "that's not him" bs.

Let me be the first to agree with everything you just said

And you basically answered my question that I posed earlier in this thread

Awesome post I was about to say something similar. It's all about currying favor in hopes of getting a better check from some white head executive.

great post...I think this might be the case for a lot of black men in this country esp. the more they experience working for white folks as they get older

All you have to do is come to BGOL and this would be crystal clear.

These pieces of shit will spit on a black man in a minute to defend white/Jew womanhood, their white/Jew Jesus, or their white/Jew job.

Black woman helping Koreans feed their families.

Black men running after the latest shoe, car, green piece of paper, or movie or TV show.

There is a crisis happening and it is only going to get worse... before all this shit falls completely apart.

the difference between when a brotha says it..and when a white man says it is .. for the past 300 or so years..when a CAC said it...it was usually followed by a beatin'..a whippin'.. a rapin'...a lynchin'...a castration... a disenfranchisin'..a discriminition..a miscarriage of justice...a shootin'..a bombin'... a burnin' (alive) .. and so on ...and so on...

why is this concept so difficult to grasp??

Probably your best post ever. Salute.

The problem is black people in America don't have economic solidarity or clout.
Because of this, we become slaves and prostitutes to whoever cuts our check.

Brothas and sistas are fighting for that right wing/white supremacy check.
Deion Sanders, Don Lemon, Stephen A. Smith, Charles Barkley, Nick Cannon, etc. have all gotten on their knees and became lapdogs for a check.

Its a shame too because their political views are given weight because of their entertainment accolades when they are the fucking worst.
