Breaking Bad *series finale 9/29/2013

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

What does he say about Eisenberg

He was saying he wishes T-Dog was on Breaking Bad so he could finally die

Naw he was talking about the quality of the show going down, and if you're going to call a show the best it needs to be judged by those standards. He was saying it was laughable to compare it to The Wire or even The Shield, and it was more like 24.

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

Over these 5 seasons, Breaking Bad has had an amazing soundtrack. Too bad they didn't do a soundtrack along with the DVD sells or something of the sort. They more than likely would have made a killing on that as well.

No doubt... I discovered Alexander Ebert via Breaking Bad...

Interesting sidenote... the show "Suits" is using his old band's (Ima Robot) song "Greenback Boogie" for their opening theme.

Gus was robbed. He is one of the best villians in TV history. He should have won.

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

Recorded the Emmys. Gonna check it out in a bit. Props to the show's whole cast.

GIANCARLO, AARON & BRIAN did a masterful job last year. As did MARK MARGOLIS as Hector Salamanca. Shit ... season 4 was the truth.

New Breaking Bad Season 5,Episode 9 Air Date Finally Given Out By Jesse Actor

New Breaking Bad season 5,episode 9 air date finally given out by Jesse Actor. Recently, Collider revealed that Breaking Bad,Jesse, actor Aaron Paul, hit up his Twitter account to finally reveal when they would be delivering Breaking Bad episode 9 of season 5 to us,along with the rest of the elusive second half of the season. Aaron wrote, “New episodes of Breaking Bad will air July 14th. (6 months ) Get ready to break some shit.”

So, there you go Breaking Bad fans. Be sure to mark your calendars for July 14th,2013,because that’s when it’s all expected to go down. They also reported that AMC tried to deny the release date Aaron gave out,but it’s believed that it’s because AMC wanted to be the ones who dropped the official announcement.

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

AMC is smart with their programming. The 2nd half of season 3 of The Walking Dead wrapped up on March 31st. The next season of Mad Men commences April 7th with a 2-hour premiere, and Breaking Bad's final run wraps up starting in mid-July.

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

I'm calling it. Walter will kill Jesse (probably with the ricin).

Re: The Official " Breaking Bad Season 5 " thread

LMAO @ the lengths people will go to defend a TV show because they happen to like it.

as if the show (and the writers) cannot be criticized individually or collectively.

:smh:

some of the episodes have been sub par. that is not a criticism of the show overall.

some of the writing has been lazy, and some of the direction has been questionable. that is not a criticism of the show overall.

singular episodes should not be evaluated for consistency or continuity?

i guess THE WIRE set the bar too high. it may be unrealistic for some to expect each episode to be a masterpiece.

Ultimately the show will be judge in its totality, but as of right now it surpasses The Wire. The last season of The Wire and the whole McNulty fake serial killer/Jayson Blair-esque newspaper reporter story was ridiculous. Simon had/has an axe to grind with the newspaper industry and he wanted to tie that arc into the entire fabric of The Wire narrative and basically fucked up the entire season. McNulty tying string around fingers and making fake phone calls to the newspaper? :smh: That last season was by far the worst one similarly to how the second season of Homeland ruined how awesome the first season was.

In my opinion, what makes BB the best is that it works with the least. It has had the same set of characters basically from the beginning. To create a compelling narrative utilizing a minimum of resources is a testament to the character development, plot points and overall theme of the show.

Look at the Fly episode. Most people hated that. Now in retrospect, it's a case study in the character development of Walt to Heisenberg and Walt's paternal relationship with Jesse.

The question is how will the show end. Will it be a poetic ending like The Shield or an ambiguous one like The Sopranos or an unsatisfying one like Lost. That will the ultimate judge of how great the show is and if usurps Sopranos and The Wire in the minds of people.
