The Zimmerman Trial: Justice for Trayvon! (Let's discuss it)

Man, we have Zimmerman not only following Trayvon but also running up on Tray and wrestling him down going off Rachel's call. The main thing I've heard so far is that Trayvon ran from Zimmerman according to Zimmerman's own phone call to 911. Zimmerman having a loaded weapon with him and chasing him down is not going to fair well.

Zimmerman clearly was on the attack based on everything so far coming soon.

You gotta be shitting me.................

This is a hood?

The numbers don't compute.

So fucking low?

You are kidding me.

:smh:

I was talking to a officer at my work the other day (he also does gun safety classes) and he said it's never a good idea to walk around with a bullet chambered and the safety off. The gun could go off and hit an unintended target. Just the other day at a gun show (I think it was here in Houston) people were injured by the same thing.

So again, I'm wondering does he usually travel like that? Or did he ready it when he saw Trayvon.

He is just telling some bullshit to you. In a self defense situation how do you know that you will have the chance to chamber a round?

Cops who carry semi automatics tend to carry the cocked and locked...that means a round is chambered, the gun is cocked and then the safety is put on.

Notice the hammer is cocked. The gun is on safety.... Most people never recognize this method of carry, but next time you see a cop take notice and chances are they will be cocked and locked....if it is a bailiff in a court room it is almost automatic...

If you carry a revolver, then you only have to cock the gun. When I carry my revolver, i keep the hammer on an empty chamber, because the very process of thumb cocking moves a loaded chamber under the hammer......

I understand your question, but what is the point of having a weapon for self defense if it is not ready for defense of self?

I'm reading...and it seems like their is a lot more going on here.
Although at the moment I am more upset that this 19 year old girl can't read cursive handwriting.
I can't write cursive and can barely read it. It has never affected me in life, so what's so upsetting about it?

I can't find the article I saw earlier. But from what I was reading (if I'm not mistaken) chick got her friend to write the letter. So first, she needed help writing a letter. Then when asked on the stand to read the letter as it pertained to the events that happened that night, she couldn't read it cause her friend wrote it in cursive.

They don't teach it in schools anymore. But the defense should have prepared her for one to read this letter. But yet, she couldn't write it herself. :smh: On the other hand, I would expect anyone over the age of 30 who was educated in this country to know cursive. Jagu I'm not sure which you fall into...I remember you having close ties to the Main land. But in this case I see no excuse.

They still teach cursive in most schools. How hard is it to read cursive, when letters are practically the same?

my mother has the best handwriting you ever saw...she can barely send and email. I'll bet this chick can tweet from her phone ten time faster than any attorney in the room.

Times change...

:dunno:

i'm not sure you should take that wager.

after reading far too many of her twitter submissions, it's evident that she composes tweets the same way she verbalizes sentences.

Could you elaborate on that? Did your school not teach it? How did you not learn it?

Down here it was required at my schools (elementary) that we learn it. I know within the past ten years though it's discontinued in most counties. Right now I am in a little bit of disbelief.

What the fuck purpose does cursive serve in this day and age?.. When was the last time you niggas actually sat down, and hand wrote somebody a letter?..

Sorry for intruding in on this conversation but as soon as Zimmerman left his vehicle with his gun loaded his intent was clear especially because he was not in any threat until he left his vehicle in pursue of Martin.

Zimmerman intent was to use deadly force.

I suppose that cursive writing has gone the way of calligraphy and quill pens but how do you SIGN anything...digitally?

Is this what you see when you see cursive script?

To be honest, I hated learning how to write it and reading it for some reason as a child. I can't remember 100% but I'm sure it taught in school briefly but not too much time was spent on it. I don't think that mattered much for me though, someone would have to make me learn it as a youngster. Just one of those things I hated I guess.

It depends on what type of pistol you have. Some have a safety on the side, on the trigger, and/or both.

That's because you live in a very small box. Get out more.

No its not still taught in most schools.

Yeah some folks don t get it.......

cursive is not used much....and truth is a lot of people don t know how to write in it......

all of us who can read cursive.....how often do you actually read cursive?

maybe 2 times per year?

whoa, so all black areas are the hood?

I guess you never heard of Prince George County?

damn wtf has bgol come too?

pg county is like 500 sq miles and has everything from milliondollar+ homes to some pretty rough hoods...

its pretty crazy.

and y are yall making a big deal bout cursive? u act like that shit is super important or something...

Very much so. Can you point out how it has hampered my growth in life?

.

Although that HAS to be a rhetorical question, I can't imagine how being well versed in a form of communication is frowned upon and discouraged.

Brave new world....

No its not still taught in most schools.

Could you pull up all the states stats that support that? Seriously.

*EDIT*
found an article

"About 75 percent of second- and third-grade teachers continue to include cursive instruction in their curriculum despite concerns that the artful writing is on the decline, according to a new national survey of elementary school teachers."

The survey shows that cursive writing — once a staple of elementary instruction but long considered to be a dying script — is still alive in many classrooms across the country.

Last time I checked 75% is most unless it's means something different to you.

So he may have took the side safety off. Really nothing unusual about that. To unlock the trigger safety is just a matter off pulling back on the trigger.

Glock-trigger.jpg

Zimmerman's gun didn't have the trigger safety that you speak of. His dumb ass friend said "the long pull for the trigger" was the safety. I already knew about the trigger safety and his gun didn't have one on the trigger.

Anyone correct me if Im wrong, but I believe cursive is mostly only still done in the US. As we get more multicultural, the more its being phased out. She said her mom was Haitian, she may have never been exposed to it being its not taught in schools anymore.
