i'm 40 years old, had one home invasion when i was a teenager, we lived in the hood and my parents let their guard down and finally let me have one of my "friends" come over (we never had company over not even family).

we had a break in just a few weeks later. i know that shit sounds extreme, but if people don't know whats in your shit you will have no problems believe that.

I find that to be true, although I'm not going to say that it doesn't happen. I keep a very private lifestyle. I don't do the company thing to often, but when I do it pretty much close family and friends.

I keep my dog (120 lbs) in the front of he house (not in that back like most), so he secures perimeter by keeping away potential suspects. All I need him to do is give me enough time, which the home invader is going to have to address him in some form.

If people don't know what's in your home is does make you less of a target.
When i buy big ticket items,i always break the box down and cram that joint in the trash can.If i can only fit 1 or 2,
i'll just put those in and if i have more,but if it won't fit,i wait.
NEVER put boxes on your curb.Cats see that as an invitation.

A brutal mid-morning New Jersey home invasion, complete with an assault and robbery, was caught on tape when the homeowner's nanny camera recorded the incident.

The woman's 3-year-old daughter sat on the couch during the ordeal, helpless as her mother suffered a vicious beating at the hands of the 5-foot-11, 210-pound suspect.

Police say the hefty black male, who had a salt and pepper beard, took off with an undetermined amount of jewelry following the 10:30 a.m. attack Friday in Millburn. The woman's 18-month-old toddler reportedly slept upstairs during the beating, WABC-TV reported.

The chilling video captured the entire midday attack. The brazen assailant entered the home while mother and daughter watched cartoons on the couch. He throws the woman down, punches her at least three times in the face before picking her up, throwing her down and dragging her toward the basement steps. The terrified young girl can only watch as the man throws her mother down the steps, then walks toward the front door and takes off after robbing her. The suspect never touches the little girl.

"I knew that if I started screaming, my daughter would, too, and I was afraid she would get hurt," the young mother told News 12. "I took it. I didn't cry the entire time."

In one version of the tape, which includes the audio of the incident, the suspect can be heard asking the woman "Where your pocketbook at?" as she moans. She reportedly was hit and kicked at least 16 times and suffered a concussion among other injuries.

Police said the man made off with the woman's wedding ring among other stolen items. The woman was treated at the hospital for leg and face injuries suffered at the man's hands.

Police on Tuesday said the suspect remains on the loose.
