Game Of Thrones: The Sopranos with swords or Dynasty in chainmail?

After re-watching season one episode two I believe Jon Snow really was Ned Stark's bastard. When Catelyn Stark was sitting by Bran's bed after his fall and Ned was about to leave for the kingdom she brought up how seventeen years ago he left her and brought back Jon. You could see It all over Ned's face that he had slipped up. :smh: Then when Ned and Jon were about to part ways Ned told him straight out flat Jon you're a starks you have MY blood in you. He didn't say you have Stark's blood but MY blood. The when Ned and the King were talking about Jon's mother Ned got really heated because he had made that mistake and didnt want to talk about it. Not because Jon had Targaryen blood. Ned really didn't seem to give a fuck about the Targaryens. Ned was out there getting his dick wet and got caught up.
 
So, I decided to read Books 1-5 this summer. Halfway through what would be Season 1 it strikes me at how great the producers of the show have been in casting the characters to the exact description of the author. I mean Tyrion must have been written with Peter Dinklage in mind!

Going through Game of Thrones withdrawl? here are some things I do to pass the time:

  • go to the beach in with scuba mask shouting "Winter is Coming" to all the ladies sun bathing
  • sat at the bar and only said "Hodor" until the staff asked me to leave
  • told the pharmacist I had a hard time sleeping and I was looking for milk of the poppy to relax
  • Shouted "Draycarys" in a crowed movie theatre
  • asked several women if they'd ever consider taking the black
  • called my shrink and mumbled "the night is dark and full of terrors"
  • requested the DJ play Rains of Castemere at the club several times
  • suggested a red wedding would be perfect to my daughter's mother
  • walked through the ER and gave people Canadian nickels and spoke "Vallar Morghullas"
  • attempted to get my truck customized with Valryan steel rims.
  • after the police pulled me over for running stop sign thought "the 1st sword of Bravos doesn't run"
  • went to Chilli's and requested an appetizer of salt and bread with a bowl of brown, my meal a flayed steak a side of cheese with lemon cakes or hot pie, and a goblet of Dornish wine.
  • questioned my mailman about the location of the raven I sent last week
    found out she had that wildfire box and water wouldn't put it out

eh, it could be possible that jon is actually ned's bastard but let's run down what you said.

1)when ned left her 17 years prior, it was to join robert in waging a war. the look on his face may be that of a man who knows he fucked up by sleeping with another woman, OR it could be that he felt guilty about lying to his wife all those years about a promise he made to his sister.

2)That would still be true if it turns out that ned was actually his uncle. It's very telling that the last words before parting were 'you have my blood' instead of ' you are my son'.

3)He didn't wanna talk about it because he'd rather not let slip that jon was his sister's bastard, not his. He knows that robert has a seething hatred of the targaeryens and would be especially enraged to find out that ned was raising the offspring of his beloved and his sworn enemy.

If ned just got some random wench preggers, what's the secrecy? what was the promise he made to his sister right before she died?

actually, tyrion is uglier in the book, has mis-matched eyes and a misshapen head. agree with everything else tho.

Nah man I was already thinking all of the stuff you're saying for the past few years now. But when I went back and actually watched that episode again neds face tells more than any words. Maybe they had him act that way to throw people off. But dude was looking and acting like a fool that fucked up, not a dude holding down a secret of a dead sister. Yet at the same time when ned and the king were talking they did bring up the sister. Shit could go either way but dudes body language was crazy. They played that shit well if he is the sisters son.

yeah its good if you can get past all the typical tv over dramatics and cliches
 
Continuum doesn't appear to have enough season/episodes yet for me.

I try to not start watching shows on non pay channels until about the third season because there are a lot of good shows that they cancel quick as hell.

It just sounds like bullshit to me...game of thrones + spartacus have made me picky...I'm entitled to nudity über violence lots of cuss words AND a good story and both those shows have made it clear that it can be done...a good story doesn't have to sacrifice action...and a show w/ a lot of action doesn't have to sacrifice the story...I could be wrong but continuum looks like regular tv bullshit...I might try watching the 1st ep

Yeah that's why ill wait. I had the same issues when I watched Fringe on Netflix. It was alright but I'm so spoiled by pay channels and their freedoms that the show just didn't do it for me.

Im watching stargate sg-1 again...until I get stargate atlantis and universe

Now Stargate was a great series that didn't follow all the typical cliches with the same types of characters you found in every other series, Atlantis season 1 had to grow on me a little but it got so much better later on. Great series if you are into science fiction.

We need another scifi series with a decent budget for aliens and space ships

It seems like alot of people didnt like sg-1,for whatever reason but like atlantis and universe........

Syfy'd never allow it..and if they did they would split the season(s) in half,move it to different time slots,then cancel it because"there wasnt enough viewers/ratings are bad".etc :rolleyes::smh:
 
I don't know how they are running into problems with having enough material for future seasons... the last 300 pages of book 3 are a season all by itself
