3 reason she never blew up

1) Too damn pretty
2)Not the right nationality
3) Too high maintenance when she was even at the level yet. I remember she told Master P she wouldn't work with him cause his tier wasn't high enough.
 
i still bump her 1st album "all i have" every once in a while,, her & floetry were the 2 highly slept on r&b albums of 2002,, but floetry eventually did blow up later on in 2003
 
I still listen to her. she is in my top 10 along with latoya luckett. and elle varner just bumped someone in my top five.
 

She was signed to Columbia when beyonce was in her prime, most of the focus was on promoting beyonce's projects and not hers.

Also, when she fell out with Rich Harrison (who produced her 1st album) thats when it started to fall apart..

Harrison took the song "Crazy in love" and gave it to beyonce behind amerie's back, when it was originally hers

I think the blasian thing could have worked. From a marketing perspective, companies like those types, because nobody can immediately identify their ethnicity, so they can pass for anything. This usually results in them attracting all different cultures of fans quicker than others, because the fans think she is the same as them.

EXACTLY!!! The classic case of forgetting who buttered your bread....These singers always think their success was the result of their voice, but great production is what makes a song good, even if the singer is so-so....Aaron Hall talkin' shit about Teddy Riley is another example...
 
always liked amerie and her music.she got a great voice looks great.i feel the thing that hurt her was she didnt use her great looks and sexuality more like a beyonce or rihanna.but thats cool cause she seem like she'd be a more down to earth person
