Star Trek Into Darkness...100% FIRE!!!

No full review, just go see this shit! 132 minutes of sci-fi action. JJ Abrams knows his shit. He took parts of classic Star Trek films and twisted them around for this story. Khan is NO FUCKING JOKE! Trust me, I was weary when Benicio Del Toro lost the role. But make no mistake that Benedict Cumberbatch (BBC's Sherlock series) is a serious on-screen presence and is very imposing in scope. As a whole I did wish the movie had less action and more Trek drama, but this new Trek series is a different animal than the series of the past. There's even a few new alien races in the background and I'm sure I saw an android with a early model Positronic Brain (Data from TNG reference?). This is not my father's Star Trek, but at the same time parts of it are! Well worth the $10 spent and I can't wait to see what they do with this reboot series next.

NOTE: The redesign of the Klingons... That shit looks fucking hot! Them cats on some Shock Trooper militia shit now!

GREAT MOVIE!!!

Really like the direction this redo is going.

With that said I had one lil problem that IF they had done this would have been the icing on the cake for geeks like me.

****Spoiler alert below****

It was all there set up perfect at the end, sulu asked him for heading WHY THA FUCK DIDN'T KIRK SAY '2nd star to the right and straight on till morning!'

Other than that great film love the flip and no spock didn't do the khan roar justice:smh:

Klingons did look good, they took away the hair. That was the same actor that played Ashur in Spartacus as the Klingon that took off his helmet

Khan was good I loved when he said to Spock "Intellect alone is useless in a fight, Mr Spock you, you can't break a rule...how could you be expected to break bones?"

Definitely a good entertaining movie. I'm far from a trekkie but this series definitely made me a fan. I'd watch this again & would like a return to a regular series based off of this as well.

Thought it was pretty good Rock. I really wish they when with better Khan though. Dude just didn't look the part to me....Too white bread.

I can kind of understand what you mean IF I hadn't been a watcher of Sherlock on BBC UK. Dude made the part his own...and yes, he injected some of the madness of his Sherlock Holmes character into Khan as well. So I accepted him despite him not looking all gritty like old Khan. Sometimes the most dangerous men are the most cleancut looking fellows.

i saw it Wednesday nite and i thought it was pretty good in 3D. Best summer movie i seen so far? Nah that goes to Fast Six. Iron Man 3..disappointing.

Saw it a few days ago.

I LOVED IT!

Initially, I felt it was a perfect homage.

But with later reflection, I felt that Abrams, Orci, Kurtzman, and Lindelof should have come up with something on their own instead of still relying on historic canon. I thought the idea of the first film was to throw canon out of the window in the first place.

Also felt that the film parodied the "STAR TREK" mythos to a degree.

And after that starship "stand off", I would have liked to have seen more of The USS ENTERPRISE do her thing. The original stories and cast did some smart things with that ship. But I leave this to Abrams and company still finding their legs.

I still found the film AMAZING, fun, and a very taut thriller.

"STAR TREK" is always like seeing old friends.
