Joss Whedon knows how to make a movie but he knows how to make even better TV.

I have no doubt this will be good.

The good: It will be like watching the Avengers movie every week on tv. Like NBC Heroes hopefully they introduce a new character every week and leads up to the Avengers 2 movie.

The bad: I hope they stay away from the drama and not turn it into a soap opera with all the kissie-kissie, she dating her man, he dating both women shit. Strictly action!

The ugly: It's on a network station, they will have to tone down the action, no cursing, no nudity, remember ABC is owned by Disney.

ummm...so is Marvel.

hmmm.
not being a comic head, I don't know who the agents of shield is comprised of. help.

isn't that guy dead?

BGOL....you dudes better stop hating on having a love interest on a show. What you dudes fail to realize is how hard it is to get men to watch shows. If you want high ratings for a non sports show you better get some women watching. That means some love story in it.

With that said I hope this does really well.

I'm aware of that, but would have like to see this show on a cable network, gives it a little bit more room for Disney to expand the content. I was never worried about Disney watering down Marvel, with the right director for Marvel projects all will be fine. Joss is at the helm of this so no worries, I'm still in.

im guess theyll be using stock footage from the iron man/hulk/thor films as well as the avengers(i.e shots of the helicarrier and what-not) to keep the budget down, cause there no way theyll get RDJ/evans/hemsworth/johanssen/ruffalo to appear in this..maybe jeremy renner will once or twice and there will be some mention of the others but thatll be about it..

wonder if AIM or Hydra will be the main/recurring villains..or they may pull a 24 and have a mole within SHIELD in every other episode :lol:

ABC released just a couple seconds of footage from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., and already fans are buzzing about what looks to be the most anticipated new show of the Fall television season. While fans were only given a very brief look, the visual effects look head and shoulders above anything else currently on TV.
However, it’s not the visual effects that have fans buzzing the most. At the very beginning of the footage, a man is shown jumping from a building while carrying a woman. While most of the early info released about Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. had suggested the TV series would focus on the outer edges of the Marvel Universe and fans wouldn’t see Hulk dropping by for coffee, the man leaping from the building obviously has super powers.

The man also appears to be African-American, and he’s wearing yellow pants. Even though it’s typically a yellow shirt that Luke Cage wears, the presence of a super-powered African-American wearing the color yellow has fans buzzing that it could be Luke Cage.

Some are speculating that the individual jumping from the building is J. August Richards, who has been rather tight-lipped about his role in Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D. If he’s playing Luke Cage, then it would certainly explain why the name of the character he’s playing has been kept secret. What do you think? Is this our first look at the TV version of Luke Cage?

I called it! I said I hope they would introduce characters that they wouldn't do movies on in the other shield thread:yes:
Can't wait

Why do we need cursing a d nudity to enjoy a good show?

their was never any cursing or nudity on the big screen. you're not making any sense.

and i think this show will do good because the average non-reader will see this as an avenger sequel just like iron man 3, despite the fact that this show takes place before the avengers.

i hope RDJR and chris evans (without their costumes) do make cameo appearances here and there along with hawkeye. but dont expect to see thor, dr. banner and etc. the most you'll probably get is references to them.

I cannot wait!

A) Agreed.

B) The has to be story, and if Whedon is producing this, it will have story. Having a show that is nothing but action will get old and eat through a budget faster than me busting a nut fucking Lisa Ann. :hmm: There has to be story and action, but it also has to be balanced.

C) There was no cursing or nudity in any of the Avengers related films. Why does a TV show related to Avengers need either?

The last time i watch network tv was back in the 90s.I might give this a shot. But i will wait until they got 22 shows in the can.I'm not going to get hype over a show that might get the axe by the 8th show.

Here we go again. Marvel comics are not always about action, action, action. Some of my favorite comics are when the heroes are vacationing or lounging around. These characters have lives too. Either way, I hope they can write some interesting stories about these characters in the organization. I could care less about it being 40 minutes of non-stop action every week.
