MOVIES ~ Any of ya'll seen any good (or shitty) movies in recent weeks/months? Post reviews, feedback, movie news, trailers, recommendations, etc ...

- Some old-school Japanese porn

- Olympus Has Fallen screening

^ It was ok, predictable fare. Gerard Butler did a good job as the action star. There was only about 1 minute of Ashley Judd. Morgan Freeman & Aaron Eckhart played their roles well. Rick Yuen was semi-believable in his role. They don't waste much time before getting into the action - probably about 20 mins in. Looks like the year for White House disaster flicks with Jamie Foxx as President in a few months in that other flick I'm hearing about, White House Down.

Olympus Has Fallen

Despite predictable moments and huge inconsistencies Olympus Has Fallen still manages
to be an entertaining action flick. Thanks to a good cast and a take no prisoners Taken vibe
throughout the film i got past the fact that it reminded me of quite a lot of other one man
against the terrorists flicks.

Scale of 1-10 a 7½

Stoker

Stoker is a constantly changing vivid portrait that somehow makes the lancing of a blister beautiful and the
sound of wind through broken glass sound like music. While it is stunning i never forgot i was watching
a disturbing tale of seduction, murder and madness. Also making it memorable are good turns by Mia Wasikowska,
Matthew Goode as creepy as he was in Watchmen and Nicole Kidman displaying just the right amount of
estranged distance.

Scale of 1-10 an 8

Good reviews, JBlaze.

I'm waiting to hear back regarding The Host and Trance for future screenings, and entered to win ROE (run of engagement) passes for Spring Breakers. Waiting for the summer though ... for the blockbusters.

I want to see Rosario nude again, so I'll be seeing Trance at some point :D:lol:

Trance: Official Movie Trailer [2013]

Trance movie follows the story of an art auctioneer who has become mixed up with a group of criminals partners with a hypnotherapist in order to recover a lost painting. As boundaries between desire, reality and hypnotic suggestion begin to blur the stakes rise faster than anyone could have anticipated.

Release: March 2013

trance-rosario-dawson.jpg

Cast: James McAvoy, Rosario Dawson, Vincent Cassel, Tuppence Middleton ...

Rated R for sexual content, graphic nudity, violence, some grisly images, and language

This film has a very grimey sex scene between Rosario and Vincent Cassel. Shit was mad, he would have bashed one off in his trailer before hand cos he was right up in her guts. No way he would have hard a boner doing the scene.

Been waiting for it to be released to see how graphic the final version is.

Just remembered in the pre production scenes Rosario has it bald and there is a scene were you can see her lips no pink but labia on screen.

Soon...:D

I hope it's on par with what she showed in Alexander ...

Rosario+Dawson-+naked.gif

no question about it...

It is scheduled to be released on 27 March 2013 in the United Kingdom, with a United States release date set for 5 April 2013

Trance (Rosario Dawson)

According to a review from the Hollywood Reporter, Rosario Dawson is nude in the new Danny Boyle film "Trance" which premieres in the UK on March 27 and in the US on April 5. I also received an email that stated that Rosario was nude in the film.

"the film possesses a robust physicality that constantly engages, whether it's patently artificial, as in the look of a club where some of the interrogations take place, or emphatically natural, as when Dawson strides toward the camera in a spectacularly surprising nude scene."

http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/mo...eviews+(The+Hollywood+Reporter+-+All+Reviews)

There are no confirmed details on what she will show as of yet. According to the below interview, she is "completely naked",

"London - Rosario Dawson found it difficult walking around completely naked for her new movie.

The 33-year-old Trance star - who recently split from the movie's director Danny Boyle - has admitted she felt “insecure” walking around with nothing on and her co-stars - including James McAvoy - made the experience “more awkward” by refusing to look at her. "

Heard back today that I won tickets for Thursday's screening for The Host. Might check it out, or see something else while there (10-screen venue).

As for Trance ... some contests floating around for the screener tix at the moment. Sounds like Rosario shows the puss' too  - they list the Canadian screenings for "the week of April 6th".

Won passes to the advance screening of Jurassic Park - 3D Imax - 20th anniversary for Saturday, March 30th (tomorrow) at 10am. Should be fun. Saw the movie 20 years ago with some fam' as a kid back in the day when it was released.

I laughed when Variety said this about Rosarios nudity in the film:

Elizabeth finds herself seducing both Franck and Simon — but are these fantasies real or projections of their jealous imaginations? They’re certainly real enough for audiences, who won’t soon forget the sight of a denuded Dawson

The Place Beyond the Pines

Unlike a critic who gave away a key plot twist in The Place Beyond the Pines, who will remain nameless....
ah screw it :Joe Neumaier of the NEW YORK DAILY NEWS,I will only speak of what is shown in the trailer.
Ryan Gosling as Luke Glanton is a daredevil motorcycle rider in a traveling carnival, upon finding out he
has a son with a local Schenectady, New York waitress Eva Mendes as Romina, he decides to plant his roots and takes a job as
a mechanic which doesnt pay well so he turns to robbing banks.
Bradley Cooper as Avery Cross who lives in the same city of Schenectady, New York,is a rookie cop trying to
rise above the corruption that surrounds him.

The Place Beyond the Pines is about father's and sons, trying to escape the shadow of and sins of the father.
What a person will do when they want to hold on to whats rightfully theirs. How one persons path and decisions
effects another and so on and so on forever changing one's destiny or fate, and what makes one distant and estranged.
Lives criss cross and the paths and roads taken by the characters that inhabit the film become synonymous with the beautifully shot
journeys down the road taken from an aerial view.
Director Derek Cianfrance masterfully handles the shift in tones from taking a fun family picture to an act of violence,
a partially viewed faces raising tension and suspense, and a desperate phone call.

Gosling and Mendes have terrific chemistry. They both make you feel every moment whether if its a a high or low one,
when they are on the screen.Cooper does a fine job as a character that is consistently transforming, but still carrying
the weight of his actions with him throughout his transformation.Praise to the rest of the cast including Rose Byrne,Ray Liotta ,
Dane DeHaan ,Bruce Greenwood,Ben Mendelsohn and Robert Clohessy.

The last half hour becomes predictable and is not as strong as the films first 2 acts, but The Place Beyond the Pines is an almost perfect
union of a crime thriller and a compelling family drama.

Scale of 1-10 an 8½

Denuded Dawson =) √

Joneblaze - Thanks for the intel on this one. Been meaning to see it - local screenings are next week or so. Good cast with Mendes, Gosling, Liotta, and Cooper.

Recent movies seen here?

- The Host
- Jurassic Park - 3D - IMAX
- Asian Pussy Pho Yu
- Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of a Tribe Called Quest
- Bully

The Host had some good effects. Jurassic Park was fun ... 20th anniversary-style. Jurassic Park 4 is pegged for June 2014, per Wikipedia. So keep an eye out for that one in just over a year's time. Asian Pussy Pho Yu had an interesting mix of talent. Definitely not stunners at all. The ATCQ documentary (well loved on BGOL the past 2 years) was dope, as expected. Been a fan of those guys since the late-80s and played the hell out of Midnight Marauders (on tape) back in the early-90s. Bully was good in showing the extreme levels bullying can be taken, given the universal acknowledgement of same. It can happen anywhere, and does, around the world ... regularly. Schools need to be safe environments for children, and not places they fear going to/attending. The Scala choir covering "Teenage Dirtbag" by Wheatus during the opening credits fit the mood perfectly. Sort of gave you goosebumps a bit.

I liked it. Love a good alien movies. Not really anything u can do when they come to your door.

Watched that Frustrated doc' the other day. Good buzz on BGOL and enjoyed it. It held your interest at just over 40 mins. Various viewpoints.

Got about 20 - 30 mins left in Luv. Saw the trailer(s) last year and kept mental note of it. Enjoying it. The first 10 mins or so I wasn't really feelin' Common's acting. Short sentences. Felt a bit forced ... movie starts to steadily pick up as they get themselves in some serious shit.

Trance

The theft of a high priced painting opens the door to a multi layered brain tripping
story in Director Danny Boyle's Trance.Thats about all i can say about Trance
without giving to much away.
The 3 leads James McAvoy as a fine-art auctioneer, named
Simon,Vincent Cassel as Franck a thief and leader of the heist crew, and Rosario Dawson
as Elizabeth a sexy Hypnotherapist blend right into this brain teaser of a story as they talk directly to the
audience and mislead the audience.

Some of the action and twists are overdone and head for the preposterous zone, but when the
film ended i was still putting the pieces together and connecting the dots.Proof that most of Boyle's
red herrings, distractions and stunning visuals set to a pulsating soundtrack worked.
Writers Joe Ahearne and John Hodge borrow a bit from films like Inception and Memento.
With the inclusion of repressed memories due to traumatic events connected to the memory and
one memory eclipsing another due to guilt or remorse.

Trance may lose its way a couple of times, but this is one sexy, mind bending thriller that aims to please and
does in various ways.

Scale of 1-10 an 8

SIDE NOTE:

The Q and A after the movie with Danny Boyle was great. Some of the highlights:

Boyle stated that Rosario Dawson is so hot,he had to give her a cool flat in the film.

Michael Fassbender was cast as Franck but had to drop out .Boyle said when he met with him
Fassbender asked if he could wear a dress at some point in the film.To this day Boyle says
he doesnt know if Fassbender was joking or not.

Everyone met with Hypnotherapists before filming started ,but on their own.No one wanted to be
put under in front of anyone, out of fear of what they might say or do.

Boyle wanted to make the film in New York

The auction house used in the film is Sotheby's

He hopes that people still go to theatres stating there is
Nothing like sitting in a dark room with strangers watching images
flicker on the big screen

Right on, JB. Looking forward to checking out Dawson's full frontal on the big screen.

Gonna check out the 42 screening (Jackie Robinson) this Wed' evening.

Cool let me know if its a thumbs up or down on 42 Helico-pterFunk

Sure thing. The venue is dope where the screening is taking place. It's a smaller multi-plex that never really took off, despite the fact that they have "stadium seating" (they call it). Even though it's more comfortable (more leg room and the seats 'tilt back slightly ... and near the middle of the venue they have a slight rail in front of you so you can kick your feet up and tilt back). Shit is dope. Hopefully we can score those.

I love stadium seating. The theatres in my area that show independent films
have 1 level seating so if someone 6''4 sits in front of me its a wrap.

Yo ... I went to this older venue in the city that'll be closing this year ... and they have 2 screens. Shit ... they have this interesting sloped-down walk-in and then flat seating (almost laid out like a 3-section airplane seating plan) ... and that shit holds 620 seats. Saw ARGO there and hadn't been in years, and was like WTF :D ?

As for stadium seating ... yeah ... it's dope. The screening was really busy for 42 yesterday. Crowd seemed to like it, as did we. They did a good job balancing his time spent with Montreal and then being called up to the bigs in Brooklyn. Good mixture of on-field action mixed with Jackie's time spent with his wife, and then moving about ... the turmoil leading to being called up. Good performances from Boseman and Ford as the co-leads. We sat in the front row of the main section and had our legs fully streched out in front of us on the floor. Basically like we were sitting on our couch or something.

Thanks for your review I will be heading to a theatre i havent been to in years because its the only theatre showing 42 and Disconnect the evils of the internet film which is also receiving great reviews.
