Ed Reed to join Texans

Ed Reed is a good player, but if anybody is expecting anything remotely close to the Ed Reed of even 4 years ago, it's not happening.

He'll help the Texans a lot with leadership and teaching guys on and off the field.

But he has nerve impingement in his neck and has basically turned into Deion Sanders when it comes to tackling.

He's a pure center field FS who doesn't jump routes anymore.

Good Luck to Ed and the Texans other than they play the Ravens...can't wait until we induct him into the Ring of Honor here and he goes into the Hall of Fame.

The Ravens will be ok...this isn't the first time we lost a bunch of old vets and still had good seasons. All this doom and gloom shit is hilarious.

We still have John Fox as the head coach.....I really have no problem with Fox being the coach but him being conservative pisses me off....

And I really dont have a problem with the Texans,but I was a Texans fan Ill be asking Kubiak to get another quarterback because Schaub isnt the answer....

Sure, I'm not saying some rookie will come in and be a better player.

And Ed is a good centerfielder at this point and will be a big, big help in the locker room and with the young kids on defense.

But he isn't irreplaceable IMHO at this stage in his career...he doesn't tackle (he doesn't just miss tackles...he doesn't give effort on a lot due to his injury), and he doesn't make plays on the ball really anymore unless passes are overthrown or tipped...we all know what made Ed Reed the name he is was how great he was at reading QB eyes and jumping routes like no other safety I've ever seen.

I think it was best for both parties to go their separate ways at this point.

It's a pretty weak free agent class for vet QBs

As you see Hassleback and Fitzpatrick got scooped quickly

As well as Garrard and he didn't even play last year

I think Matt Moore is still out there
