Russell Westbrook

If Westbrook aint taking all them shots who else gonna shoot the ball on that starting five..Perkins? Ibaka? Stafalocia? Durant needs Westbrook shooting the ball as much as he does

lmao

durant doesn't average 40 cause he don't want to average 40
that's clear.

he can get any shot at any time. westbrook isn't taking his shots away.

durant just isn't a volume shooter and has no desire to be one
the sooner people realize that the better

the sooner people stop acting like perkins and seffalosa are scoring machines and he's killing their offense the better

who else is even aggressive on okc other than martin?

and dishing out almost 9 assists a game would suggest that he is actually passing contrary to popular opinion

I don't know why.

People talk all the shit they want, but consistent team players who play the game with a relatively low degree of difficulty - eg. Tim Duncan - don't get nearly as much money as equally heralded stars who put up gawdy stats, and play with flair.

Hell AND1 made some street niggas household names based purely on flair.

Magic Johnson averaged a lot of turnovers, but no one gave a fuck 'cause he was throwing no-looking passes to keep the crowd entertained.

Kobe is much reviled, but all of those pointless 50 and 60 point games won him huge support from all around the world. So much so, you got niggas right now who swear up and down he's the GOAT.

In other words, Durant, this is entertainment. A few windmills, 70 point games, and fall-away three pointers in crunch time, over two defenders .... will probably double his earning potential.

You want purity?

Watch Ivy League hoops.

I see what you are saying.

Anyone who knows me already know I like traditional point guards. Pass first but I can't deny the kids talent.

Now if he was a distraction where he was getting suspended, cursing out the coach, fighting teammates, going to the media and doing DeMarcus Cousins type of shit I would have a different opinion

and i would too

and he's was a 2 guard who's learning how to be a point.

you can't deny the way he runs the game is way better than last 2 years

his control is better and his assists are way up.

the only thing he needs to do is finish at the rim. he's already cut down the 3's and you can live with the free throw jumpers.

he worked on his game and i respect it.

there's only 2 pass first point guards in the nba

rondo and cp3

as i said he needs to learn when to pick his spots. that's all there is to it.

last night was a result of him murdering bayless and mike and wanting to take them every time down the court because he could.

he needed to pass the ball for one on that play.

but overall in the game he needed to just keep that in his pocket. you can kill them ok, get everyone else involved and then if the team struggling start killing them to keep the lead or to steady the ship.

nah seffalosa and perkins would average 25 points each with another point guard when seffalosa is a spotty shooter at best
and perkins can barely gather himself without traveling

they're in there for DEFENSE any offense they add due to wide open shots is a plus

don't ask me i don't know

but the myth is somehow he's not getting shots cause westbrook is stealing them.

durant shoots anytime he wants

ive seen them in several games literally come down. set him up on the screen and let him shoot...for 9, 10 possessions in a row.

so its a matter of whenever he does want to he does.

does westbrook take bad shots at times YES
has he cut that down YES

is he just not finishing at the rim like he should yes cause he's looking for the foul calls and he doesn't get those yet. he needs to finish then worry about the call after.

and his jumper has went from horrible to kind of streaky he needs to work on it. but he's shooting from the right spots.. free throw line and in.

You still caping hard though
Westbrook is too got-damn old to be having a fucking hissy fit like a 10 year old who couldnt get on the big boy rides at Disney.

and where did i say otherwise

by pointing out how good of a player he is when people say he's weak?

i haven't defended him doing that at all not at all in any instance

i'll just let people say whatever about players then right or wrong.

Seriously...give many point guards those OKC minutes and the cast and they WILL GIVE YOU WHAT WESTBROOK GIVES YOU! and even if the give you less, that's OK because Durant can fill the void. A good PG could fill the void in many other ways than dealing with this ASSHOLE! I would trade thaat MF for Drew Holiday, or Steph Curry or Kemba Marshall or Brandon Jennings...and I promise you OKC would be better off !!!!:callyou: Make the deal!

Exactly my point..look i don't want my PG taking as much shots as Westbrook does but with that roster and that starting five shit Westbrook needs to keep chucking them shots to help Durant out..

Nigga please

Rose makes his teammates better

Russel goes to locker rooms and yells at sefolosha

It would be Showtime OKC

Them two Guards are exactly the same, no difference nothing at all. Rose gets away with chucking cuz he aint playing with another certified superstar

is Russell really learning how to be a point guard? Rusell is just playing his natural game while being asked to be the point guard.

It works(depending on who you ask) for him so......

*shrug*

My cousin did that same shit when he was a kid and couldnt get on the roller coasters at cedar point.. he was livid.... stomping his feet and throwing shit :lol:

I agree with most of what you said here but Magic aint all flair. Who doesn't have turnovers? I don't think he was a turnover machine like you are implying. You know he is considered the best point guard ever right? 5 rings and makes is teammates better.

Man. Even though he has upped his assists per game, I think he's going to continue to have his struggles with the position because he's an attack-shoot first type of player. I typically don't like undersized shooting guards but he is a 2....

Magic averaged a lot of T/O. For the career, Magic averaged 3.9. Another legendary PG, Stockton, average 2.8.

I'm not saying Magic wasn't great, or that he was all flair - how did you take that from that - but a large part of why he was so beloved is because he was, well, 'Magic'.

People love to be entertained. Sure, there are purists who think showmanship ruins the game ...

...but explain to me why a Tim Duncan has some of the lowest rated Finals EVER, while Kobe, who many feel is everything wrong with the NBA, has been one of it's biggest, most bankable stars EVER?

Sure, Kobe could dial it all the way down, average 22ppg, 7rbs and 8asts on 50+ percent shooting, but he wouldn't sell as many jerseys. Period. Instead, he shoots 28 foot three pointers for no other reason than he just feel like it sometimes, he's the highest paid player in NBA HISTORY.

He is passing more I give you that. But I don't believe he has to jack up shots because no one else on the team can! He is a point guard, he has to find out where the other players can be efficient at - (that is their sweet spots). NBA players can play, they just have to be utilized right. Westbrook jacks up too many shots when he could have passed the ball to open players. How are they going to be confident to shoot the rock if the PG don't past the ball to them? Westbrook aint go to be the second leading scorer on the team. Make others better period. Every now and then he can go off if the opportunity is there not force the action like he does now. Switch places with Chris Paul and OKC would still win that many games and Chris wont be the 2nd leading scorer.

he hits them in their sweet spots

seffalosa stands still in the corner for a 3

ibaka shoots a 15 footer
and perkins barely gathers himself to make a layup.

none of those 3 with any point guard would be killing it... maybe ibaka but the coach would have to change philosophy in order to do so..which i think he should but that's another issue.

i never claimed he was there yet.
he is starting to put it together. he's starting to be the player he could be...starting.

he's tossing out 9 dimes a game and people talking about he hogging feel me?

his percentage is just low because of him missing shots he should make.

he should make those 15 footers and he should finish better at the rim

if he finished better at the rim his field goal percentage would be around 45-48%

he has a ways to go to be as good as he could be...which is scary if you sit back and think about it.

he needs to hold his head control his emotions the passion for the game is great but control it

and listen to mo cheeks.

Rose is never a chucked fam

Chuckers don't win Mvps

damn

Rose seems a little stronger, Westbrook might be a little faster.

Both are basically the same player kinda.

when healthy rose is more explosive with the cuts

westbrook i think is faster end to end

both jump out the gym but i think rose has him on that too.

can't guard either when they're playing good basketball
