Keef following the same Blueprint that Rozay and others have laid down. He got the in-house producers, in-house video team, in-house marketing, mixtape game....this is the future of these artists. Labels see it which is why they offering up advances as big as they gave Keef because that was the only way they were gonna get them interested.

Nice deal..consider his talent level and where he came from. Interscope tried to fuck him over by not putting out a lead video...but imho...he'll reach that 250k mark and be good. Even if they drop him...he still has a decent enough fan base to make a decent amount of income to keep hisself out of Englewood. that is if he spends/invests his monies wisely and doesnt accept too many charity cases..
btw...they say Young Chop got a separate million dollar distribution deal. Fredo.... may have been crazy...but he doesnt have to play that role anymore because he's out of that environment.

There are things in contracts (promoting projects, radio stations, media outlets, album signings, tours sometimes promo shows, etc..) he didn't do much of that for his album. His tour got canceled that wasn't Interscope's fault. He lost a lot money by not touring, Interscope loses money for him not touring and that hurts album sales because when u tour, your also promoting your album, your going to the media outlets in the city your performing your stopping through various cities in route to your next city promoting your album, etc....

Interscope gave keef all the top names 50 cent, jeezy, rawse, wiz, etc... for his album and that's the best it can do? even with that horrible album, its the little things that can easily get him over 250k (touring, media outlets, some controlled interviews to show the world who chief keef really is, etc...). Also he doesn't seem to have a big female following...they need to work on that.

even if he hits 250k sold....the label has to recoup for him to see a penny in royalties. i think he was advanced 440k+another 440k for GBE+200k for gbe's overhead (office, travel, etc...)+salaries+marketing budget+40k advanced to fredo. That's over a million that has to be recouped off top. But, we have artist like missy, snoop, young joc, etc...who were selling millions of albums and never got paid from album sales...so what makes you think your getting a check for just selln 250k. I'm sure the actual contract is very specific.
After skimming back over the article, looks like keef is married to his managers. keef and his manager (manuel) EACH will own 40% of gbe and "...Chief Keef's uncle Alonzo Carter and Anthony H. Dade also each hold 5-percent ownership of GBE, according to court papers." Why are people talking about at least he keeping it in the family? y'all know that shyt is going to end up with ngz falling out and ngz claiming they got ripped off.
