McGrady Denies Ever Playing Kobe One-On-One In Germany

I will say this about Kobe, he brings a lot of dumb shit upon himself... As long as allows the type of interviews where he is compared to Jordan and LeBron, he will keep being compared to them, and not looked at as the great player he is.... However the more he is compared to them the worse off he is going to look...
Notice how Jordan and James don't have much to say on the subject, thereby not feeling they have to prove themselves as much.. And it is in his trying to justify being better than them, that makes Kobe come off as selfish and egotistical..

Re: McGrady Denies Ever Playing tobe One-On-One In Germany

it wouldn't be the first time.

the fragile ego having primadonna is fond of making up duck tales.

tobe is fond of telling a fantastic story where kwame brown told tobe not to pass him the ball because he was too nervous.

Told you in the other thread... Committed to the dislike Man!!! Love it though!!

How is T Mac going to kill Kobe one on one from 7000 miles away in China.

Dude is in purgatory playing next to Mbenga. Cant even get out of the first round in China either

The problem isn't Tracy the problem is that he is playing for the wrong league... He should be playing for the SNBA or (special needs basketball association) where all the teams make it past the first rounds and are considered special chumpions..

Re: McGrady Denies Ever Playing tobe One-On-One In Germany

if i was tmac, i wouldnt admit that shit either

no allstar should ever lose 11-2 to anyone

You have to realize by now Kobe relishes the role of the villain?

You think he looks bad, but Kobe thinks the only player better than him is Wilt.

Kobe was lambasted for giving scripted, boring answers earlier in his career. Now he's letting it all hang out, and people still don't like it.

He knew the ego he was hiding from the world, so that's why he shut the fuck up.

I guess now he doesn't really care.

Honestly, dude has proven many nay-sayers wrong in his career. You should've heard how so many great basketball minds predicted he'd never last in the NBA. Even the great Marty Blake said, 'Kobe isn't even better than Peja Stojakovic. He'll average 3ppg, and end up in the CBA'.

He was never supposed to win against without Shaq.

ESPN was praying for this nigga to be convicted of rape- and damn near everyone on COURTV - and many of the companies he endorsed dropped him, but came running back after all the dust has settled.

Dude is obviously a sensitive, angry person ...

...he feels all the shit said about him gives him every right to stick up his middle finger and keep it up. Dude can die right now, and he's a first ballot HOF'er, and he did it all...

...his way: as a selfish, egotistic, stat chasing, prima donna. Sure, this will all hurt his legacy, but his greatness is affirmed every time someone feels the need to explain why he ISN'T Michael Jordan. No one is rushing to shield Jordan from Jamal Mashburn.

Every good ballplayer is egotistical in a way, once they get on the court... Most of them just keep it inside and don't let it get the best of them... For example you can tell that LeBron really gets up to play Kobe. The only difference is that he rarely says shit, but once that ball tips off you can tell he is letting it all come out.. Kobe on the other hand is like this 24-7 even after the game is over...Almost make you wonder what is going on in his mind after that last game vs the Heat where the world could clearly see who the better player is..
Lucky for him James isn't that fucked up and chooses not to rub his nose in it..

If you don't work for Kobe's PR team you are shortchanging yourself. People compared Harold Miner and J.R. Rider to Jordan. It's more insult than complement. It just shows how much Jordan is still needed in this watered down league.

but why he have to say he quit after three games because he was having back spasms..

kobe a stone-cold fool for that... that ninja is hilarious :lol::lol::lol:

I think the League has finally gotten past Jordan's shadow... there are multiple all-time great players carrying this league that will be around for a while man..

Yeah, but how long did those comparisons last?

Did Jordan himself validate those comparisons?

Kobe and Jordan comparisons have lasted into Kobe's seventeenth season.

Find me one other 'next Jordan' whose Jordan comparisons lasted ten seasons.

Edit: You're comparing Kobe to Miner and JR. Rider. This is how I know you niggas are just hating trolls. If you're going to make a point, at least let the shit make sense. Kobe ain't Jordan, but a whole lot of people more important than any of us basketball have made the comparisons, and still feel the need to.

Of course, David Stern was paying them side money to do it.

I agree.

When you cant appreciate the present, its usually a sign of age or bitterness. Or both.

The NBA future is bright.

Thing is, I don't think Jordan is just leagues ahead of some of these new guys the way people claim.

Jordan had certain advantages that made him a better player over-all...

...but with Kobe, Lebron, and Durant ... you're not talking about a Jordan to Reggie Miller gap. All of these guys will finish their careers being compared to the best players that ever played.

Whatever gap there is, it is there to show that Jordan had that extra something, but it ain't there to show Jordan was just on some completely different level.

Lebron will probably come the closest in terms of legacy. May even exceed Jordan, but I don't think he needs to win as much as Jordan, and it will take that type of fire to win six rings. Kobe will probably be the closest in breadth of offensive skill and desire to be the best. Durant seems like he's going to be be consistently a high level scorer for a long time.

Don't be surprised if Durant finishes as the no. 1 all-time leading scorer.

The real gem in all that was when the interviewer responded with "Yea, he had back issues throughout his career" and Tobe was like "Yea, now you know", as if HE was the one who originally fucked up TBac by destroying him in a series of 1 on 1's. Dude is fucking insane man.

right
that 1 on 1 ruined his career

he should've said

"you're welcome"

...and to be honest, I don't really watch much basketball nowadays, but when I saw Lebron last night, that dude is fucking scary.

That dude's strength and explosiveness doesn't even seem fair. Granted, the Lakers defense isn't exactly awe inspiring, but that doesn't negate the strength and explosiveness that was on display.

Lebron will probably give Mike the best run for his money in the long run. I personally think he'll fall short, but he will get the closest, imo.

Even that remains to be seen. Maybe I'm selling Lebron short.

Closest? I dont see him coming Close to MJ... 6 Finals MVP's?

(points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, fg%, ft%) Per Game:
Lebrons Career Numbers Right Now are 27, 7 and 7, 1.7, 0.8, 48%, 74%
Jordans Career Numbers at the same age was 34, 7, 6, 3, 1, 52%, 85%

Exceeding him in terms of what?

He's Definitely Not as Talented...

If u think he's not going to Exceed him in winning then What Will he exceeding him in? I'm curious to know your answer....

U right. He will fall short but he's still somewhere between top 10 - 25 all-time. Straight baller.

I'm not comparing Kobe to anyone. Pros want to make their own mark, nobody wants their legacy to say he did it like the other guy. Jordan still gets daily mentions and the league is over him?

What Jordan was Doing @ LeBrons Age...

Aint nobody in the League right now doing shit like this at the ease he used to do it.

Aint Nobody in the history of the Game had this wrapped in one:

the Ability to take and make shots over double/triple teams
the Ability to attack the hoop and finish w/ Both power and finesse
w/ either hand
the Ability to play on-ball defense, weak-side defense and his ability to play the passing lane at the highest level

the Ability to blow by any defender, change directions on a dime, being off the fact he had quickest 1st step in the league
Having huge hands giving him the Ability to drive to the hoop w/o EVER getting stripped and losing possession
