how about making Django a civil war soldier who's unit is infiltrated deep in the confederacy territory and they kill a few confederate soldiers in their hunt for Confederate President Jefferson Davis.
His assassination would hasten the end of the civil war and end slavery in the south. you don't see one plantation or slave the whole time.

No, and that's not the movie that Django is either. Like I said before, read the script, or see it before you pass judgement. No slaves are getting murdered en mass in this film.. Or at all really..
But listen, you can't compare Auschwitz with US Slavery.. US Slavery lasted Centuries, and the casualty count is far from comparable.. But the reason that the Holocaust is a touchier topic is because you can attribute a face to it. Who's the singular face of slavery in the US?

Concentration camps were tools of death.. Slave plantations were about commerce first, before anything else. They weren't just lining slaves up, and murdering them to eradicate them from the earth at slave plantations..
