I am trying to determine how much the government gives to support the child when it is born with severe mental/physical abnormalities.

But, my paper is for late-term abortion supporting abortion of late-term pregnancies in cases where the child will be MRDD (mentally retarded/developmentally disabled), severe abnormality or disability. The strain on the woman, the family, the other siblings, the financial strain, the possible separation of marriage and all.

My cousin tied her tubes after having my lil cousin. That dude was too much for her. She was scared what he would hurt the other kid if she had one. She used to dread coming home, request overtime. One time I overheard her telling my mom that she slow-walked a bus that she could have caught because there was absolutely no peace at home. It wasn't available in '87, but I bet you if she knew then what she knows now she would have done it in a heartbeat. It seems selfish, but no one should be saddled with such a predicament, especially now that it can be avoided.

This is a great start.
My son was born when I was 26 weeks pregnant. As a result he was what they call a micro preemie. Being at such a low birth weight he was entitled to receive social security payments. They consider the low birth weight along with his respitory issues a disability. He received about $600 a month for the duration of his NICU stay. The social worker at the hospital also had a list of charities and programs that help with the cost of preemies. I have a friend with an autistic daughter there is a charity that helps her cover the cost of therapy and workshops, but I don't know if she gets any government assistance for it. I can ask, if you think you really need it. Hope this helps

They are trying to stop abortions past 20 weeks or near the end of the second trimester. I talked to my moms today and told her about the paper and how I felt that if I had been diagnosed with severe brain ailments or disfigurements before birth I would have rather she had aborted me. I told her that I would not want to live like that. She gave me the ole mama thing, "Don't say that. You don't believe that," to which I told her I do. My cousin is institutionalized and will be for the rest of his life, and he can live a long one.

Imagine being free and locked up. Never having been on a date or had some ass that you or someone else didn't pay for. Imagine any of the things we as "normal" people take for granted. Nah. We are the only species that takes care of their deformed. You never see a deformed cat. Why? Mama cat takes care of that shit.

"WTF? 3 legs? I'm either gonna kill you on sight or starve you to death", the latter of which my cat did to one of her kittens when I was a kid. When my brother tried to save the little deformed kitten my cat was ready to tear into him.

You would never know my son was a preemie by looking at him. He takes after his father build wise. My husband is 6'2" 315 lbs. and retired nfl nose tackle. My son will easily be larger than him. I think he came early because he knew I wouldn't be able to push him out full term My daughter was born 2 months early but she was able to come home the next day. Both are happy and healthy. The only lasting effect is my son does have respitory issues occasionally. So a common cold will be tougher on him, but it's all manageable.

Just got off the phone with her.she said that her husband and she do not receive any SSI because they make too much money. The charity that helps only pays for therapy and they offer free workshops for the families

There are various organizations the help disabled children or parents of disabled children such as SSDI (before the child works and/or if they never can work) or SSD (which is the social security system all working ppl pay into).

There are also state vocational programs for young adults with disabilities to help them get jobs that match their skill set. These programs can range from simple envelop stuffing jobs to help mentally challenged ppl get out of the house, socialize and make money a;; the way to state agencies like we have here in CT called BRS (bureau of rehabilitation services) and this programs will find out the employment goals of said disabled person and put them on an employment plan. If the plan happens to include a college education the state will pay a portion of tuition, books, and assistive equipment .

Also it would depend on the child's disability but the foundations help a bit. For example the MDA has a large national loaner closet of disabled equipment and also gives all of their registered member with MD $500 per year toward any medical need insurance wont cover. Doesn't seem like much but mine recently came in handy when i need a pair of new batteries for my back up chair. Those bitches came to the total 500 after the parts n service.

We still own a place in middleburg heights. We used to go to that waffle house in medina but only on nights the big guy named jimmy was working. He was the only one who cooked my bacon correctly. Yes, I am in Ohio. I like this sleepy little town Medina I live in. I told my friends that even if I had won the Powerball I would have kept my home in Medina (but I would have other homes elsewhere like you do. Ohio is slow for those who like slow, and I like slow. I have never been to the Waffle House in Medina, though I pass it every day on 18. Middleburg Hts. is a nice area, I've driven through it a number of times.

I remember hearing you in past posts speaking of Costa Rica. Your life must be interesting and far from normal which probably suits you fine. How long is it since you've been back here?
