Homeland Discussion Thread (All Seasons)

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Claire Danes will win every emmy award for best actress as long as Homeland is on the air.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

:eek::eek::eek:

These are some bold ass writers on this show.

This type of thing would usually end a season, and they would have dragged this out for the whole second season (which is what I expected) but they do it at the end of the fourth episode:eek::dance:

I'm amped to see where they go from here, I can't wait to see how this plays out.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Theres something about this Quinn character that seems a little off. I can't put my finger on it but this dude will not STFU.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Damn, they had enough microwave energy from the cameras and bugs to cook a chicken on Brody. Did you see all the surveillance they had put on him! Damn, the government has the capability to do that to a person without them every knowing. Season 1, they had all that gear in his bedroom where him and his wife were at.

It wouldn't surprise me that some idiot tried to do that to me. I had my cell phone messed with, color coordinating cars; it is attempting to establish omnipotence with a target (it is really establishing their ignorance and stupidity). Many times the surveillance and tactics are obvious to the target and annoying.

There are people out there that are messed up in the head and believe this behavior is acceptable. I believe a person using these tactics to harass should get the death penalty. I support putting people to death for engaging in this activity since you can destroy weaker people.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

I thought they were going to drag the story out longer

Carrie fucked that up. He got her off her game. He was trying to find out if he could get some pussy, but was torn by his wife not trusting him.

The daughters storyline is boring and she's a good character, but nobody cares if she cheats on her boyfriend

I wonder why they're adding the Mike and his team member story line now.

yeah he a great politican and once again Carrie went off the fucking rails
what the fuck happens now?

i wonder if she was right about being made or let her feelings get in the way

She wasn't

She fucked up. She's a liability IMO.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

thats the weird thing cause she is a fuck-up/liability but when it comes to her job she seems to always be right

My guess is that the CIA will not out him to the public about being a terrorist. They will try and blackmail him in a way that he will work with the CIA to try and capture his leader.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

it'll be interesting to see Brody now held captive by the home team.
interested to see the parallels and how he holds up

very good show where i kinda root for a terrorist and traitor

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

how did they find out about Isa?
unless it was mentioned on the tape.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

damn Brody spilling his guts.
it must feel good to get all that shit off his chest

but what happens now they flip Brody that easily?
now he a triple agent?

liked the scene with them rearranging the big board and starting from scratch

brody finally able to tell his wife something that is truthful

didnt mind the Dana angle until that bullshit accident. Guess that find something to do with her and she had to have a secret like her old man

She hit him with that real shit
{that he was used & manipulated to be a sympathizer & worked him the rest of the way but even them mofuckas aint stabb him all up in the in the hand & shit, the REAL terrorist did that } which is something he could game off of through that triple agent role.

I liked that shook family portrait:

the girl with the pale face, having to have to lie & feel like shit plus shook after the dickhead privileged non driving assed kid almost merked somebody; wouldnt doubt if they use this to reinforce what she originally thought about how the rich & privileged VP & them value life

the already alienated son who's about to come apart @ the seems if he cant see his pops;

Brody still trying to process all that happened & face his wife on his ass
& her still not sure if she could trust him to kep them together.

& when it looked like Mandy was about to slap Brody in the face with the phone to call his wife.

peace

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

The convo between Carrie and Brody was great TV!

The actor that played Carrie really showed her range.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Didn't he need real medical attention with his hand or did they get it for him

The wife shit was bullshit to me. She asked him to leave then wanted to speak to him? In reality she would have maybe called but then would have gotten more irritated by him not calling her back and stayed angry.

I'm still not sure if I like it

Great ep!! I still think Brody is going to work for Abu Nazir though.

I'm confused about what he's going to do

I'm confused theabout what he's going to do

wife stuff was sketchy but the them stiching him up there is believable. the cia who stabbed him probably knew where to stab him and I assume someone trained would be near by because of torture tactics

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

god damn i love this fucking show.
its like fucking 24 on steroids

how the fuck Roya got the hit squad up & running

I liked this episode although there were a lot more WTF -- I can no longer suspend disbelief moments -- in it. Let's start with the Tailor. Roya told Brody in the last episode that the CIA had found out about Bassel. That begs the question of why all of the concerned parties -- US intelligence agencies and terrorists alike -- weren't swarming over the place sooner. And sorry, the Robo-Terrorists are just too damned efficient while the CIA and FBI are portrayed as Police Academy type bumblers without the comedic effect. And it's ridiculous to think that the CIA agents would come equipped to the raid with the firearm equivalent of water pistols vs the automatic assault weaponry of the terrorists. And why were none of the CIA guys wearing vests. They may not have been effective against the assault weaponry but sheesh, show a little sense.

Another big gripe is why it hasn't occurred to Saul, Estes, Quinn or Carrie that they've got a mole in their midst!!!! This screams STUPID!

ITA about Seth Gilliam, no way did he just show up on set one day to make a cameo appearance. The camera lingered on him waaay too long. I expect him to re-emerge at some point.

Thank God they didn't kill Quinn. The show runners have struck gold with Rupert Friend. My question is: can Homeland continue to keep both Quinn & Brody? Time will tell. R.I.P. Danny. At one point I was mildly suspicious that he might be the mole. Guess not.

The Brody/Carrie scene at the end was very predictable and believable IF you look at it through the showrunners' prism. Carrie & Brody are both fundamentally effed-up damaged individuals and about as stable as nitrogylcerine in a high speed blender. They distrust one another but are drawn to one another. I wouldn't call it love or even lust exactly but the chemistry between CD and DL is smoking hot. There's no way the showrunners won't have them wind up sleeping together real soon even if half the audience rejects the premise.

The Dana/Finn stuff took way too much time. I hope we find out where they're going with this fast. But I prefer the Dana subplot to the scenes between Brody and Jess which I realize are necessary but boring. Jess is actually much better with Mike. The scene where Saul & Estes try to not so subtly get Mike to back off was good but they have to know it's futile.

Finally I can't wait for Roya to get busted...

They said it was a Forensics team. I think that's a big difference in how that whole scene went down.

I don't trust Saul. Something has always been fishy about Saul.

Thought the same thing. But like dude in True Blood from Law and Order who got merc'd. Who knows? Maybe there wasn't anymore HBO shows to be on and dude needed a quick check.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

The question is do they have a mole, or did Brody give her a signal. The signal seems more likely.

His daughter going to the hospital :smh:

Mike getting conspiracy theorist like his boy. I thought he was going to find the Koran, not the gun. One missing bullet?

I like Quinn's character. I didn't care about him at first, but I realize he's damn good at his job. He might not agree, but he'll listen.

He buried the Quran in the back yard after it hit the floor.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Quinn leaving the hospital? Why do they always do that on TV and in the movies? How much time has passed?

I don't know what to make of Estes sometimes.

The daughter is becoming an annoying character.

Saul fell for the okey doke. He got caught up just like Carrie.

He buried the Quran in the back yard after it hit the floor.

Yeah, but I would have assumed he got another one since I'm sure he still prays

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Yeah, but I would have assumed he got another one since I'm sure he still prays

i'm under the impression that once Jess found out about his conversion to Islam & the potentially political ramifications if it came out he would no longer practice it. He is still muslim but he can no longer go through the motions.

Re: Homeland Season 2(discussion thread)

Good last episode where Saul got played by jailed female terrorist...

Anybody see SNL,where they did a skit of the show?....was actually funny, unusual for them.

yeah the skit was spot on from top to bottom
especially the Carrie impersonation including fucking facial expressions & crying

I think the big twist at the end is going to be Saul is the mole working for the bad guys
I remember he failed the question about the razor blade the first time he was asked
