My Letter To Republicans

Many of you are shocked that a President with this record could get re-elected. The economy is in bad shape and is teetering on the edge of collapse, the debt burden is higher than it has ever been, our foreign policy has become so muddled and confused and is putting us in increased danger, and the government is becoming more and more involved in every economic decision of every individual. How could Americans not reject this?

Unfortunately, those affiliated with our liberty movement knew this was a predictable outcome. If you wanted Americans to reject these policies, you needed to have a candidate that would fully reject these policies. Neither Romney nor McCain did this. Well, the GOP has taken over the primary process and has been preventing the real issues from being debated.

Remember the Tea Party influence in 2010. It worked well until the party co-opted the grassroots movement and then immediately pushed it aside. It was bad enough that the media ostracized the movement, but if you are to learn from this, you have to realize that the GOP did the same thing. If you want Americans to reject the policies that are destroying this nation, you must reject them yourselves!

You may have your differences about the long-range wisdom of our foreign policy, (revisit your conservative roots, it was the founders who warned us against entangling alliances). Outside of foreign policy, we agree on so much. We believe that it is immoral to incur a debt you have no intention of repaying. We believe that life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness cannot be infringed upon by the government. We believe that the best way to spread liberty through the world is to demonstrate the perfect example.

The liberty movement is about seeing through the left/right paradigm and coming to the understanding that it is us against the government – not left against right. If you want to win again politically, you need to win again on ideas. And that is where this movement holds the most value.

The GOP uses our minor differences to divide us against each other. And they are quite successful. Now that the election is over, I urge you to seek our help on our points of agreement and try to keep an open mind about how to achieve our mutual goals. Now is the time to remove the partisan blinders and tell these politicians that they may no longer divide us for their own political advantage.

I prefer a dangerous freedom over peaceful slavery

For Liberty!

:lol::lol::lol:

When was the last time they actually won on ideas? Lincoln? In modern history, the Republican Party has won based on jingoism and fear, never ideas.
They've lost 3 of the last 4 election cycles because they have bad ideas that the American people reject.

UD, as painful as it is for me to say this; Bush 43 won on ideas!

He campaigned on a humble foreign policy, no nation-building, and not to act as a policeman for the world. Gore could not defend the statement as Clinton had us in the Balkans, and other nation-building missions in Somalia & Haiti.

Now what he did after that was not consistent with conservative values, in the traditional sense.

Since when do you care if the republicans win again? I though you said both parties were the same.

Sounds like you are carrying water for the GOP as I've always said!

With liberty and justice. there is no slavery. You wouldn't understand this since you never mention justice.

The country was set up to be a Republic. A Republic is representative government ruled by law (the Constitution). A democracy is direct government ruled by the majority (mob rule). A Republic recognizes the inalienable rights of individuals while democracies are only concerned with group wants or needs (the public good).

Sounds like you are carrying water for the GOP as I've always said!

Thought, I'm trying to be constructive!

Where are your pleas for "justice" for the families in Pakistan who were victims of "drone attacks"?

Where are your pleas for "justice" for those in prison for non-violent drug offenses?

Where are your pleas for "justice" for those on secret kill lists, with no judge nor jury?

C'mon man!

Why should I be a democrat? I don't believe in indefinite detention, drone attacks, secret kill lists and I appreciate the bill of rights (2A & habeus corpus)

Let me correct myself: Republicans don't win on their own ideas. But when they adopt other people's, they can be successful.

Becos the bushes & republicans never had i definite detentions , drone attacks, kill lists, the destruction of the bill of right was orchestrated by whom under the guise of TERRORISM & 911? , of course the repubs have had better ideas or success?
