I've been here 10 years and it's pretty sad what has become of the board since I first joined. It used to be pretty fuckin awesome. The grown men outnumbered the boys at least 5 to 1 and it was actually a spot where you could seamlessly interact with the opposite sex on some grown shit. Now it's flooded with homosexuals that wait for any opening to be disrespectful towards a female poster but that's another thread. The double standards are somewhat relevant to that but here's the gist of it.

Male posters brag about their side pieces and jump offs and how they always cheating on their wives and girlfriends and get props from everyone but then make threads calling the women that get caught cheating every name in the book. Why is that?

Male posters talk about they don't like fake females (body parts, contacts, weave, nails, etc) but if you look at the front page all the threads that have 5 stars are females that fall under being fake. Why is that?

You have posters constantly bringing up single mothers how they raise boys to be gay or effeminate. It's like why the FUCK would someone have the nerve to condemn the person that actually chose to stay around and do everything they could ALONE. Then when a news thread is made about a mothers boyfriend killing her child you get these comments like "these females need to learn how to choose better" the blame is still on the woman. I've never seen a thread the consensus is talking about the absent parent being the main problem.

Anyway I'm sure there's more but feel free to add and comment.

I do not know about every man writing something you might not like being a "bitch nigga", or even "gay", but there is definitely a lack of diverse thinking on the board, and honestly, the Black interweb in general, that makes it difficult for the types of expression that you could present in the earlier years. There is like this form of groupthink on the board that has shut off certain expressions that could exist among other expressions, hell, even contradictory ones. I still love the board, but there are things I refuse to present here because I have seen the lack of an appreciative audience for said presentations.

I think you need to take an inventory of who says what. I'll bet you will find the same posters on the same side of an issue and the same group of posters on the opposite side of an issue. I don't necessarily think there's a double standard. Its just certain people chime in on certain topics. With over 70,000 members you're bound to see bias. But its only a double standard if you see the exact same names commenting hypocritically on all the issues.

I've been here off and on since about 2001-2002 and I don't remember this board you speak of.
There are certain posters who use the board to get all the venom they carry around out of their system. Stop engaging them or at least minimize it. For a minute the board stopped being fun and then I cut back on the time I spent engaging Nzinga, sirwoodz, and JD Walker and spent no time with mitdropout or cub and it became fun again.

you already know a lot of these cats are young in years or mentality. there are some peeps on here that drop knowledge and funny threads. They give props or hate and keep it moving to new topic. Then you have the other cats that love the type of threads and comments you speak of because it will get a response.

I have ALWAYS been pro natural everything down to the fingernails. I dont hate on a chick if she looks good with her extensions or she didnt go too damn far.

I happen to have desire to see some of the person's flaws and imperfections. Sometimes those make that person stand out

And I think that audience matters most for all parties that actually matter.

It takes a bit of time out of ones free time, or paid leisurely time, to make threads/posts that are of actual value to HNIC.

That which allows one to even find BGOL creates a very interesting dichotomy: niggaz love free shyt but often hate showing love to the type of person that can give them the free shyt that communities like BGOL are founded upon.

Now that BGOL is a fully operational economy, I think HNIC needs to focus on protecting those entities that possess skills that allow the community to thrive, as well as protecting those interests that drove those that drive the board to the board.

First off, Great thread.

The men cheating vs. women cheating this is a mix of a few things. Not every adult male(age-wise) is a grown man(psychologically & emotionally). Many don't have their ego's in check, their ego's have them in check, and they don't even know it. Also, as men, traditionally & historically, we have placed a certain value on a woman having virtue. Why? Well, from what I learned in history during the time of Mesopotamia & Hammurabi, the woman would be subject to far worse punishment for adultery(tied to stone and thrown in river) because women bore the fruit by which men named their heir. So if your woman slept with another man and had his son.... and you named that son your heir and he inherited your land/property, then it could cause a cluster-fuck, not to mention who's to pay taxes.

I said all that because that's how I learned it, now fast forward to modern day. Women want men to value their virtue, yet they don't place a high value on it. You can't have it both ways.

Now, I don't do it. I don't value a woman's virtue at all, so I don't mind a woman doing her thing. I acknowledge it and accept it. Like my married patna said, "if somebody fuck my wife, ...shid, they just fuck my wife" I mean, he ain't finna deliver her up to another nigga, but if it happen, it just happen.
