Oh snap, you came out of the shadows to post. That's what's up...

I'm trying to listen to this thing and I think I'm missing half of the conversation. I got everything on 100% and all I hear is mumbles except for the loud ass dude...

Yeah, Kriss is loud. He's on a real mic and Kev calls in through Skype. That's why Kev's volume is lower.

It's been a problem though. I might have to look into retiring my laptop next year.

Or at least invest in a quality pair of earphones.

No groupon in the t-dot? what about living social?

CT explained what it is but what wiki don't tell you is that its FUCKING AWESOME. Since its October theres a lot of beer tours popping up for Atlanta. They even have some for trips and short getaways too.

:D

I usually get teased for being 'different'...not sure if anyone would listen

chick

See Mo up above...saving money is a big factor but I've ate and done things at places that I wonder what my life would have been like if I had known about it earlier. At this point I don't know how I went to the movies before without eating a BBQ burger and strawberry lemonade.

I wouldn't mention it. Especially if a dude takes me to a place I've never seen before I'm going to ask him how did he learn about this place. If he tells me groupon, living social, open table, coupons.com - I'm not going to care. Long as the food was good and the conversation was on point and we had fun, I don't understand why it would be an issue to be discussed.

:yes::yes:

CT, if I met the chick they talked about a date never would've happened. If she's has set guidelines or standards when it comes to a night out that would tell me she's all about herself not us.

A night out (first date) is for "us both" to have fun together get to know each other better. If she's not paying, she has no say so in how I pay for "our" meals. Now if I say tarnished her image of me by whipping out a Groupon well she need not to worry it would never happen again.

I'm ok with groupon, too. Times are hard. Besides, if I'm not paying I'm not going to complain regardless.

(Oh, and the best part: no rules, games, or bitchiness required.)

The Book of Love: Relationships and Dating

http://www.amazon.com/dp/B009N5CP7E/?tag=vp314-20

"Married or single, you're gonna love this book! Lots of LOL moments..."

Why is it that so many relationships nowadays seem so complicated? The reason is actually very simple: it comes down to different levels of commitment.

Years ago, when people dated, they dated to find a person they would like to marry. Dating was not taken lightly. When you were on a date, you were seeing if the other person was a good fit for you as a potential future husband or wife. Everyone was really more on the same page when it came to dating, because there were only a couple of pages. Now there is a whole book, and it's hard to figure out what page your date is on. Here are the different levels of commitment in no particular order:

Chapter One - Just Having Fun!

Chapter Two - Want A Girlfriend/Boyfriend.

Chapter Three - Want A Serious Girlfriend/Boyfriend, No Marriage!

Chapter Four - Want A Hook Up I Can Call My Girlfriend/Boyfriend, Only When I Want To.

Chapter Five - Want To Keep You On The Backburner, Just In Case Nothing Else Works Out.

Chapter Six - Commitment Phobia!

Chapter Seven - Dating A Person Who Doesn't Want To Commit, But I'm Sure They'll Change Their Mind.

Chapter Eight - Want To Know Marriage Is In The Future.

Chapter Nine - Looking To Get Married (For Some The Book Ends After Marriage).

Chapter Ten - Looking To Get Divorced!

Chapter Eleven - Dating Someone Much Younger Because They're Hot!

The problem with this is that men and women are almost always in different chapters. I see a lot of women in chapter seven dating men who are in and around chapter four to chapter six.

Are you guilty of dating someone who is not a good match for you?

Let's just be clear, if you are looking for a long-term relationship with your significant other and they're not ready to commit, you can't make them, nor do you want to! If you have been dating for a while (several months or a year), if they are ready to commit to you long-term, you will have no doubt in your mind. Girls have a hard time with this concept, but ask any guy you know, your man will let you know if he wants to get serious with you. They will not let you slip away if they think you're the one for them.

On the other hand, if you have been dating for a while and your boyfriend or girlfriend's Facebook status is still single or blank, and they don't like you to go to parties with them, or they tell you they just want to date for like ten years, leave! The chances of them changing their mind are about as good as you winning the lottery. If they do change their mind and you're gone, they will come looking for you.

*Tip: Stop wasting valuable time dating people who are not a good match for you because you think they are a good catch.

If they don't want to be caught, it is kind of a moot point isn't it?

Using groupons is cool. I use them myself. However, after listening to the guy's story about his date, I understand why the chick would be upset.

A first date is all about first impressions. You really want to put your best foot forward in all aspects as best you can (men and women). If you trying to make an impression on someone, you don't bring them to a nice restaurant and then use a coupon. It's as if to say if you didn't get this deal, you wouldn't think enough of her to take you to a nice restaurant (woman's perspective). The woman thinks it's cheap because she don't know you. As a first impression, you look cheap, especially if you trying to IMPRESS her. Think about women getting dressed up, hair done, etc. especially if she's cute. It makes the date better.

Now with that said, it doesn't mean that dude was cheap, not at all. But for a first impression it looks bad. Now if they been dating and know each other, then it's no problem. She knows you and her gonna have a good night out.

Years ago, on valentines day I bought my girl at the time a dozen roses in her favorite colors. She absolutely loved them. But being an idiot at the time, I mentioned I got a great deal on the roses as opposed to playing top dollar. She became sad about that comment. Wanna take a guess why?

It was because that comment made it seem like if the roses were expensive, I would not have even bothered. The price was more important to me than pleasing her with a gift she truly would like regardless of cost. (within reason)

I can understand this, but in such cases it's all about delivery. You might have been happy you made your girl glad and glad you got a deal, but (and I'm drawing on experience) if when you talk about it you sound as though the deal is the greatest thing ever, then sometimes we can't get past that to the greatness of the gift.

But I still stand by my previous sentiment with the Groupon on a first date. Hell, a second date.

A hundredth date.

Everyday life is better when you save money to do other things that have no coupon.

Good someone actually listened to they story.

Some people just don't seem to understand. Its not so much about what one spends on the other, its about what experiences we can share together. If Groupon means doing more with less money this should be a no brainer. The savings are significant and usually at some pretty nice locations.

Its a better deal than the Entertainment Book, you have to buy that.

EXACTLY ... Now who you trying to take on a date lol

You get it ... I'm shocked ... and a tiny bit impressed

the smart thing for dude to do would be to go up to the register and pay with the coupon as opposed to doing it in front of her

also spare your woman the details on how much you spend on her gifts ... thats kinda tacky

well i mean that common sense. I'm more into the mentality that women are entitled just because they're women.

The funniest thing about this thread is how most women will seek out a bargain before they spend their hard earned money. Don't say I'm wrong on this I know I'm right. "I love them boots can't wait till they go on sale. I'm not paying all that money them." :hmm: Yet if a man wants to save a few bucks he's cheap. Talk about your hypocrisy.

IMHO no one should pay full price for anything if an option exist. An today that even includes dining, Groupon has made that possible.

Ladies a man saving a few bucks on a date should not be looked upon as the man doesn't think highly of you, it shows smart thinking. Will that lobster dinner really taste any different if it cost $20 less than the menu price?

Here's an idea, take your man out on a date lets say to a play and dinner. Use your car, your gas, you buy the theater tickets, pay for parking and top off that evening or afternoon with dinner. Not the Golden Corral either. Trust me you may think differently afterwards. By time you get home you'll be think like a man, shit after all this he better give me......:D

:lol: :yes::yes::yes:

my dude...

I have actually have been lucky enough to have this experience before and as a matter fact I'm looking forward to a "King Day" very soon...:D

The problem is men are just confused on how to treat women now.

I have held doors for women and been told its OK, go ahead?:hmm:

I have pulled seats out for women in restaurants and gotten shocked looks from wait staff AND patrons...

I have helped women take off their coats and I tell they are unaccustomed to it...

If I pass a group of women and say "Good Afternoon Ladies" I swear they lose they minds...

The male identity especially in African American man is a wreak.

some of this is because of women still creating and adjusting to an independent role but still attempting to maintain femininity and chivalry.

But to the mater at hand...

Why in the hell would a groupon offend you?

I bet if it was to a concert with Jay Z Beyonce Mary J Blige and Kanye and Diana Ross...

she AINT giving two shits how you got those tickets!! Hell she would ESCORT you to the will call line:rolleyes:

The brother could have done the Groupon thing on the sly though...that is just polite. This aint your girl or your wife.

A first impression is important I could understand how a women could take that the wrong way...not saying its RIGHT, but I completely understand.

Truthfully there really hasn't been much opposition to the Groupon idea. So if these ladies are all lets say available who do you pursue and who is going to be lonely?

The one's who want to have fun and want to enjoy a date out, or the one who wants to be impressed and would be appalled at the idea of a man using Groupon. I know who I'm sending a PM.

BTW after only 3 years Groupon is valued at 18 billion dollars. So its obvious the Groupon idea is a whopping success.
