TMZ has an update on Jerry Lawler. According to his son Kevin, Lawler is still hooked up to tubes and unable to speak but he is writing long, detailed notes to communicate with people. That is obviously great news.

That's great news. Hopefully there wasn't any life changing brain damage done. Raw isn't going to be the same without King there. I just hope that they don't try to fill his shoes with a bad 'King' impersonator. Wrestling companies (including WWE) having been trying to recreate that JR/King magic for years. I hope they're at least smart enough to know that they can't bring in another King-type dude for a while.​

LATEST JERRY LAWLER MEDICAL UPDATES

Jerry Lawler is completely off sedation and is now breathing on his own without the help of any breathing tube.
Lawler is still very weak and has been asked to rest his body and not speak to allow his body to recuperate and adapt after everything he's been through.

Lawler has been given breathing exercises to help his lungs after several days of being on ventilation.

Lawler's girlfriend posted on her Facebook account, "I know everyone wants to speak to him and hear him...just know that he is doing great now and when the time comes for him to call and talk he will..I promise! Also, the rumor statutes that he was brain dead or had brain damage is completely FALSE. His CT scan of his brain came back NORMAL & he is just fine! Thanks again everyone for your love, support, and powerful prayers!! I will be bringing the King back home before you know it! "

Jerry Lawler began making phone calls to a number of friends last night, including Michael Cole and we are told Vince McMahon, among others.
Cole wrote about speaking to Lawler on Twitter, describing him as in good spirits and saying Lawler told him he was "taking the strap down" in reference to Lawler pulling down the strap right before he made his big babyface comeback.

There is no timetable for Lawler to be released from Montreal to return to Memphis at this time, nor is there any timetable regarding when he returns to his WWE duties.

Now that he is looking to make a recovery, most of the discussion among wrestlers has been around how lucky Lawler was and whether the company would allow him to return to the ring or not.

After this, I don't expect to see Lawler wrestle ever again except many in the lightest, comedy match kind of setting where he doesn't take any bumps (not that he takes many now). Old guys have always been around and there is a place for them but when it becomes mortally dangerous, if they can't walk away, the companies need to stop booking them to wrestle.

LAWLER HEALTH UPDATE, WHAT DOCTORS HAVE ADVISED REGARDING A RETURN TO THE RINGby Mike Johnson @ 4:04 PM on 9/13/2012

WREG TV in Memphis, citing Jerry Lawler's son Kevin (who some of you may remember as Freddie Gilbert in the original ECW's earliest TV era) reported that Jerry Lawler was up and walking today.
Kevin noted that his father sounded like his regular self and doctors, noting Lawler's health at his age "see no reason why" Lawler shouldn't get back in the ring and wrestle.

Lawler is said to be sore from the CPR but beyond that, was able to walk freely in the hospital today.


Just talking to my dad about his heart attack, he said it was years before he was back up to full strength so I doubt we'll see Lawler actually wrestle any time soon. He might throw a right hand here or there but the wrestling might be done.

WWE HALL OF FAMER ARRESTED THREE TIMES IN THREE DAYS

TMZ.com is reporting that WWE Hall of Famer Tammy "Sunny" Sytch has been arrested three times over the last three days for incidents related to domestic violence.

According to TMZ, Sytch was arrested on Monday 9/11 at 8:55 PM for disorderly conduct after an incident with an unidentified man in his Branford, CT home.

Sytch was released on $500 bond the next day, only to be arrested again on Tuesday 9/12 at 4:49 PM after another incident with the same unidentified male and charged with disorderly conduct a second time as well as third degree strangulation and violating a restraining order.

On Wednesday 9/13, Sytch was released after posting a $25,000 bond and was arrested at 8 PM that evening for again violating the restraining order against her.

Sytch was released again today after being arraigned in New Haven, CT.

The man in question is believed to be Sytch's current boyfriend. Sytch underwent a WWE-sponsored rehab stay last month.

TNA has released British talent Mark Haskins and has opted not to renew the contract of former Knockouts champion Winter, PWInsider.com has confirmed.
Neither talent had been used in some time by the promotion.

Haskins had worked some European events but was not brought to any Stateside events after a poor showing on PPV against Douglas Williams.

Winter, who had worked for WWE as Katie Lea Burchill, had been signed to the promotion in late 2010, linked almost immediately with Angelina Love. Her TNA deal officially expired last week. TNA has not used her since late June. She has been regularly working on the independent scene since.

@ releasing Winter. I know they can't have everyone work every show but Winter would have been a good heel for Tessmacher to work with or Mickie to build MJ up for Assmacher.

WWE Removing Attitude Era Videos

WWE announced late Thursday that it was removing "dated and edgier" footage from its official website and media platforms, a day after co-founder Linda McMahon's political opponent used clips in an attack ad.

"To better reflect our current family-friendly brand of entertainment, WWE is removing some dated and edgier footage from digital platforms," said Brian Flinn, WWE's Senior Vice President, Marketing and Communications, in a statement. "Some of this footage has been misused in political environments without any context or explanation as to when it was produced. This damages the corporate reputation of our company. WWE is well within its rights to protect its intellectual property for fair use."

Flinn said the footage removal is not related to an ad released Wednesday by Rep. Chris Murphy, a Connecticut Democrat running for Senate against McMahon, which featured WWE footage while slamming her for allegedly off-shoring profits to avoid taxes and failing to provide health coverage for their performers. Rather, it is part of a re-branding effort.

While WWE held a PG-14 rating for much of the late 1990s and early 2000s when she was running the organization with her husband, Vince McMahon, its current content is rated PG or G.

With Tommy Dreamer and Shane Douglas running shows in the Northeast, there are plenty of options for fans, we just have to seek them out.

Yes indeed. I saw some Youtube stuff on them years ago that looked interesting and then bought 1 of their dvds at a ROH show before Wrestlemania. Good stuff, quality action and they seem to do a better job of establishing feuds in some cases than the major companies.

Also I like how you see the entire skillset of certain people. For instance, Adam Cole is a good wrestler but in ROH he is kind of generic because he doesn't exhibit that much personality then you see him in PWG and you see that he does. That's the beauty of the indys and part of why some of the guys who are clicking in the WWE were top guys in the indys for years.

By the way I could definitely see the WWE eventually getting guys like Mike Bennett, Michael Elgin and the Briscoes into their company in the next year or two along with Cole.

And honestly this clip in the first 15 seconds amuses me.

Another issue I have with the WWE. This Del Rio-Sheamus thing. So they ban the Brogue kick which set up that horrible skit Monday but more importantly it seemed like it was supposed to make Sheamus become more vulnerable to Del Rio but instead of showing him being weaker as a result of his finisher being banned he simply gets a new one immediately and starts beating viable competition with it clean before their match up. What a dumb way to handle that situation.

I could see them getting those guys as well and i could see them completely fucking them up The best times they will ever have is right there in the indies since they have total freedom, and real talk the best position to be in is an independent wrestler with a following since you can make a decent living.
