Report: Lawler Was ‘Clinically Dead’ For 20 Minutes
By Ryan Clark on September 11, 2012

Smith Hart, brother of WWE Hall of Famer Bret Hart, says he was told by a friend backstage at Monday’s Raw at Centre Bell in Montreal, Quebec, Canada that Jerry Lawler was “clinically dead” for twenty minutes being revived by a defibrillator.

He wrote on Twitter, “According to my friend Jeremy Prophet who was backstage at RAW, Jerry was clinically dead for 20 min before being brought back by defibrilat.”

According to the Sudden Cardiac Arrest Foundation, clinical death is the medical term for cessation of blood circulation and breathing, which are two necessary criteria to sustain life. This occurs when the heart stops beating in a regular rhythm and is also known as cardiac arrest.

Hart noted that “it has been confirmed that Jerry did suffer a heart attack.” Since medical personnel were at ringside, Lawler was able to receive immediate treatment.

According to sources, Lawler remains in stable condition. He is breathing on his own and his heart is beating on its own, but is considered not out of danger.

Stay Strong King!!:please:

To be honest, I dunno why Jerry is wrestling in the ring anyway. He's too old for that shit and he's the best colorman in wrestling today... They absolutely didn't need him in a match with CM Punk and Ziggler.:smh:

Sometimes I really think these wrestlers have a deathwish and wanna die right in the ring.:smh:

Next up... Ric Flair!!
:smh:

c/s ....you see that Vince finally stopped wrestling because he was getting up there in age, mabye this will be the wakeup call that Lawler needs to just stop wrestling

:yes::bravo:

Cena brought it with that promo and that's what they've been missing with these promos with Punk, you can't let Punk just go off on someone and then not let them respond in kind.

That's exactly what I said during the Rock-Cena feud.

Promo wise Punk was a by the numbers heel. Nothing special. As for Cena it was too much and it wasn't great. I felt some of what he said such as the line about Punk making the most noise when they shut off his mic. I also really liked when he stopped Punk from responding and told him he was only concerned with kicking his ass. But the shit about Macho Man's elbow and the color of his trunks was stupid. It seemed like Punk was wearing the colors as a dig at Bret Hart and the elbow has been a tribute.

It was good for Cena and basic for Punk but Punk's basic is better than most people's good while Cena, while good, still talks too much when he cuts loose.

To be honest, I dunno why Jerry is wrestling in the ring anyway. He's too old for that shit and he's the best colorman in wrestling today... :smh:

Taz has been better than Lawler for a long time.

Yeah but he only works about 3-4 WWE matches a year with some indy dates but it's not like he has some hard bumping, hard working style. It's one dropkick-a fistdrop-a bodyslam-a piledriver with him taking a couple bumps. Being a veteran, he knows how to space them out.

WWE CHANGES SCHEDULED NIGHT OF CHAMPIONS PPV BOUT
by Mike Johnson @ 10:00 PM on 9/10/2012

WWE ran an angle tonight where Daniel Bryan and Kane were put together as a tag team as a result of their Anger Management classes and won the number one contender status, defeating The Primetime Players.
Kane and Bryan will challenge WWE Tag Team champions R Truth and Kofi Kingston Sunday at the Night of Champions PPV.

As of two weeks ago, the PPV was slated to feature Bryan vs. Kane and the Players vs. Truth and Kofi, so obviously WWE creative changed direction after being thrilled with the way the "Hug It Out" scenario came off last week.

Damn PTP:smh:

That's exactly what I said during the Rock-Cena feud.

Which is why that feud ended up being a letdown, they desperately wanted Cena to get cheered that they were willing to make Rock look like a blubbering fool at times.

It was good for Cena and basic for Punk but Punk's basic is better than most people's good while Cena, while good, still talks too much when he cuts loose.

Punk has a tendency to get lazy when he's put together a couple of good promos, last week he had a great night on the mic whereas last night he was very bland and really needed to bring it for the go-home show.

Taz has been better than Lawler for a long time.

Taz has become almost as bad as Lawler at times but he's still better than Tenay:smh:

Also it's pathetic that a fucking hugging segment screwed a tag team that deserved their title push:angry: They're doing the old & tired odd couple tag team and i bet in their minds this is just like the Rock & Sock connection.

Tenay's not bad. He's not Ross-Solie great but he's pretty fair and he's had good chemistry with both Don West (who started out HORRIBLE and ended up pretty good) and Taz. Taz, even when he's slacking, shits all over Lawler just by doing his job as he's supposed to: he talks about being a wrestler. Lawler reminds me of Heenan in that his jokes are funny and get him over but he's supposed to be getting over the guys and action in the ring.

JERRY LAWLER MEDICAL UPDATE
by Mike Johnson @ 11:36 AM on 9/11/2012

Jerry Lawler underwent an angioplasty last night, where a balloon is used to widen and clear blocked or narrowed heart arteries in the heart.
We can also confirm that Lawler had stents placed in his heart last night, updating our earlier note that he was scheduled to have the procedure done today. The procedure has already been done.

Taz has been better than Lawler for a long time.
Yeah, Taz is cool and I did give him some thought, but I considered this...

If their roles were reversed and Taz worked for Raw and King worked for TNA, which would you like better. I honestly would watch more TNA and less WWE.

I guess I'm old school and used to the King's corny jokes, but I feel better watching a match with him commentating than TAZ. But I admit Taz got a lot better than his WWE commentary days... yikes.

I would still watch TNA because, right now, they're a much better show. If Taz worked for Raw with Cole (as he is now), they would be a much better team than Lawler and Cole just like they had become better than Ross and Lawler and none of that was Ross' fault. Taz started off pretty bad too (remember during the Invasion when Paul Heyman called him out on it and Taz choked him out? Great stuff) bu he got really good and is still the best color guy SD has ever had.

The WWE spokesman also said they could see Lawler back in the near future:hmm: FUCK THAT he needs to take as long as he wants to recover, he's been making 500k a year since 2002 so he's not in dire need of money. I also want to give credit to Michael Cole because he did an outstanding job last night given the circumstances.

Lawler is rich as shit as has been for years before he got to WWE so I think that was them being positive. Being Lawler, I can see them working this into the show in some way as long as he's recovering well.

not only Michael Cole, but Cena, Punk, and Bret Hart should also be praised for their main event segment even though all this was going on.

To come even close to maintaining the same intensity they had at the beginning of the show is a credit to their professionalism.

Totally agree.

And by sheer coincidence, I just saw Lawler making a cameo in campy horror movie two days ago (Girls Gone Dead). The movie sucked donkey balls, but I was surprised by Lawler's performance as the sheriff in it. He was pretty good in it and I could see him going down that Roddy Piper road and doing a couple of cheesy sci-fi/horror flicks each year and taking it easy for the rest of his days.
:yes::yes::yes:

Hopefully Lawler takes atleast the rest of the year off. Heart Surgery is not something to rush back from. Heyman would be great to fill in and used as Punk's hype man from behind the announce table. Cole is taken a step back from being the obvious heel announcer. Anyone notice how Cole was picking on Miz saying he would be running away from Ryback two week ago?

No No No:smh: It was annoying as hell when Cole did it for Miz.

may just as well put booker back on commentary..hell have aj as an announcer too since they may not be GMs any longer

- The GM roles on both Raw and SmackDown are still being discussed heavily by Creative. Currently, the plan is for Vince McMahon to return to TV at some point, take AJ and Booker T out of their positions and put in a single GM for both shows. Ric Flair is one of the main names being considered.

- Actor George Clooney has split from former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler, The Sun reports.

Keibler reportedly told her friends her relationship with Clooney is over. A statement is expected any day announcing the couple have split amicably.

A friend of Keibler's told the publication, “She said George wants to be on his own again and has no intention of getting married. Stacy hoped they would be together long-term. It was a big breakthrough to spend time with his parents. But over the last few weeks George has pulled away from her.”

The couple had been romantically linked for over a year

Jerry Lawler Update: Fear of Brain Damage

Former WWE Diva Stacy Carter ("The Kat" and "Miss Kitty"), the ex-wife of Jerry Lawler, says the King is being taken out of sedation and is now responsive after undergoing more heart procedures on Tuesday.

There is now fear that Lawler might have suffered brain damage during RAW after suffering a heart attack, when his brain was deprived of oxygen for several minutes.

Carter released this statement on Facebook:

"I have an update on Jerry. The docs are removing his ventilation & taking him out of sedation. He is responsive, which is great!!! It took a while to revive him last night so there's the concern of brain damage. He had some tests done which will show how much if any damage there is due to the lack of oxygen to his brain. Unfortunately, the results won't be in until in the morning. I appreciate all the calls, texts, tweets, & Facebook messages of support & I know Jerry will too. Thanks everybody!!"

Brain Damage...:(

Yeah he was out for at least 20 minutes. That's more than enough time to cause severe and irreversable brain damage.

I fear the fun spirited King we know and love past away on Raw on live TV. Hopefully the lack of oxygen didn't damage his brain to the point that he can't speak or remember anything.

One good thing is those paramedics on the scene did get to him very quickly so he's extremely lucky for that. Stay Strong King!!
:please:

Jerry Lawler’s Son – ‘He Does Not Look Good At All’
By Ryan Clark on September 12, 2012

WWE Hall of Famer Jerry “The King” Lawler continues to recover in a hospital in Montreal, Canada, after suffering a heart attack during Monday’s Raw broadcast.

Lawler’s family members are with him, including son and former WWE performer Brian Christopher Lawler, who released a statement Tuesday evening concerning his father’s condition. The concern now is whether he suffered brain damage following the heart attack.

His message reads: “Ok, here’s the latest real update. Lauren and I are here at the hospital in Montreal. He does not look good at all. He is responsive to questions that he is asked which is very good. His sedation and breathing support are being lowered slowly right now. He was shocked a total of 7 times at the arena and underwent a balloon stint to open up a clogged artery when he arrived at hospital. Everyone out there needs to say a special prayer for his brain at this point, please. Tests on his brain will not be available until the morning. One of us two will keep all you guys informed as we know more.”

Stacy Carter, Lawler’s former wife, remains optimistic on “The King.” She tweeted late Tuesday night, “Gonna try to get some sleep. Been a long 24 plus hours. I just know there will be some good news about @jerrylawler ‘s condition tomorrow!!!”

George Clooney Denies Split With Stacy Keibler
By Ryan Clark on September 12, 2012

Despite a report by The Sun that says otherwise, George Clooney has come out to deny that he has broken up with Stacy Keibler. E! Online reports that Clooney’s rep issued the following statement:

“A story published by a London tabloid, The Sun, concerning George Clooney and Stacy Keibler is not true. Total fabrication designed to sell newspapers.”

The original report from The Sun stated George Clooney had split from former WWE Diva Stacy Keibler and she told her friends her relationship with Clooney was over. A statement was expected any day announcing the couple have split amicably.

A friend of Keibler’s told the publication, “She said George wants to be on his own again and has no intention of getting married. Stacy hoped they would be together long-term. It was a big breakthrough to spend time with his parents. But over the last few weeks George has pulled away from her.”

The couple had been romantically linked for over a year.

As we noted, it seemed like BS and it appears to be.

Yep and if Cole is burying a heel, especially Miz, that's a bad sign for the Miz.

JBL turned out decent but he wasn't as good as Taz. Just watching old SD matches recently and listening to him reminded me how unimpressive he was.
He was better than Lawler though.

No No No:smh: It was annoying as hell when Cole did it for Miz.

Heyman isn't a bad announcer and he has a great mind for the bussiness. I wouldn't expect him to go overboard like Cole did for Miz unless he was told to do so.

I wouldn't call it burying heel just by teasing him. Gorilla would tease Hennen & JR did the same to Lawyer.

JBL was a really good at the announce table. He played the heel role to a small degree and was still unbiased with guys he feuded with.

Heenan and Lawler weren't the defending IC champs at the time. If Cole hadn't been Miz's biggest cheerleader for two years I might not have seen it in a negative light but for Cole to practically call him a coward instead of hyping up Miz's great strategic mind, looks to me like he's not completely out of the doghouse.

REPORT: NO BRAIN DAMAGE FOR JERRY LAWLER
by Mike Johnson @ 11:16 AM on 9/12/2012

WMC-TV in Memphis, citing Jerry Lawler's best friend and business partner, Joe Cooper, is reporting that test results for Jerry Lawler following his heart attack Monday are negative for brain damage.
The report, which you can read by clicking here, states that it took EMTs 15 minutes to revive Lawler after he suffered his heart attack on Monday.

Lawler remains hospitalized in Montreal, recovering from the medical emergency. Everyone at PWInsider.com sends our best wishes for a quick, painless recovery to one of the all time greats

TMZ has an update on Jerry Lawler. According to his son Kevin, Lawler is still hooked up to tubes and unable to speak but he is writing long, detailed notes to communicate with people. That is obviously great news.
