Imma type this once again...that bs that is all over the news right now is EXTREMELY isolated and most of the victims of crime are victims for a reasons. Most of the time its not some innocent bystander type shit. Most of the dead are victims of their lifestyles or the lifestyles of the people that they hang around. There no justification for the unnecessary homicides in my city....but the truth is the truth.
For the most part Chicago is safe.....and I stand on that. I would like to say that the crime situation wil slow down soon because most of the ignorant nig-gers will be forced to relocate by the migrating Whites or be killed themselves....but the reality is the problem will neva end because theres young kids (like Chief Keef, JoJo, etc) thats embracing and prolonging the bs. Plus their breeding babies.
I mentor young Black and Mexican kids in the Chi....but as for the knuckle head niggas that are too stubborn to change..fuck em. As long as they keep their distance away from the righteous people that I work with...then im good.

I think the disconnect is that the definition of an innocent bystander is too narrow... If SOMEONE (not all of them) from LA, Chicago, Rio de Janerio Brasil etc... could have came up in any other "hood" and never been in a gang ...but because it's a means of survival they joined up... then they are somewhat innocent bystanders too.... IMO... not saying that is JoJo.. dunno dude what he was about.. but sometimes REAL innocent bystanders get sucked in.... even if it's cause a long time friend or family member makes the decision to bang... now you affiliated and they don't see you as an "innocent bystander"
But for the most part you right... if you not in that life... don't befriend them... and not chillin in their spots... you usually don't have nothin to fear... thats gone for almost every hood I been to

They see the celebrations that follow the funerals of their dead buddies and they look forward to their lives being celebrated after they get killed. That type of shit is a sickness.
The lack of adults taking action/mentoring these fools is a big problem. Either grown folks are too scared, dont know what to do or just dont give a fuck. IMHO change will only come about in the form of incarcerations and deaths....not mentoring and love. Thats a problem, but from what im seeing thats how most folks would like it to be.

Look at the locations. Like I stated before...the bs is isolated. The Majority of the Chi is safe. Mark my words! And I dont have to distance myself from Black folks in order to feel/be safe.
I live in Hyde Park and Im down the street from the hood.....in the 15+ years that Ive lived over here Ive only be awaken by gun fire 1 or 2 times. And that includes the times when 47th street was really fucked up (i.e. before the built the strip malls etc)
Ill admit that the fact that outsiders, that really dont know shit about Chicago, painting Chicago with a broad brush gets to me. I cant tell you how many times some White out of towner sat down to talk with me and because Im young & Black they feel the need to ask questions about gangs, some shit violent shit they saw on the news, etc etc. The shit gets aggravating. If they were asking out of concern then id have no problem with it...but most of them really dont give a fuck. They just like being entertained by buffoonery.

This is fucked up, i got a homegirl that stays in the chi and right up the street from where it happened. The nigga was supposed to be his friend that he grew up wit.
