The official DNC thread 2012

I relate to the fact that I do believe that government does need to be SMALLER. I do believe that the one thing that's hurting our community is that we do not have, overall, economic growth. I do believe that welfare did have an effect on the black family. I do believe that smart, strong, and simple regulation is better than over regulation. I do believe that we need to protect our borders because that's where the drugs are coming from. I believe that the tax code does need to be revamped because it is severely outdated.

I could go on Swat, but you probably get the point. My race does not constitute my political beliefs. I think that's the main reason why Black America does not have political power right now. Our community only see's it one way. I do not believe in having a narrow vision on issues.

Besides, if I didn't say my political affiliation, and just talk community issues, many of you would probably agree with me.

I disagreed with your political positions long before you admitted to being a republican, and you know that. I also believe that you have had your mind warped by the ultra-conservatives that you find yourself around daily. More whites benefit from social programs than blacks...that's a fact. I won't get personal about anything because we have gone over these points ad nauseum.

:eek:WHOA!!!!!

I've chopped it up with AAA a million times and I never ask about his profession because it's never been relevent

but you CANNOT be a Republican and be a mailman. Can't be. That's the most self defeatist thing I've heard all week, at least.

I'm going to pick my wife up and I'm going to bed but I will be back to see this tomorrow.

honestly, I wasn't as political until I start working for the post office.

Swat, when I was talking about social programs, I was talking about the effects it had on OUR community. I really don't give a fuck what it does to white america.

That's the problem with our community, we don't focus on US.

BTW, Newt Gingrich used that point against Chris Matthews.

Well doggish, you do not see anything wrong with our race voting only for one party?

BTW, I'm a long way from being confused. I understand that a good speech does not constitute a good leader. The smartest person does not mean that he/she is capable of being an effective leader.

I think one thing that makes you think that I'm confused is because we come from two different environments. I'm from Texas, you are from Philly. You are entitled to your opinion. I just disagree with it.

has nothing to do with speeches. you are willing to vote for a group of people who are willing to give tax breaks to a group of people you don't identify with. how many millionaires do you know????? i'm not talking about people you have met or come in contact with i'm talking about knowing them been to their house chopped it up on several occasions. \

you want to vote for a group who doesnt believe in science or climate change. we had no major snow storms in new jersey last year and we have 60+ degree days in December.

you want to vote for a group that doesnt believe that everybody in this "america" they love so much should have health care. as i said before my medical bills totaled over 110k and if i didnt have health insurance i dont know what i would have done.

you have the walking sick that dont have health insurance to see a doctor for basic needs and can't afford to take a day off from work when they are sick

i dont believe a chick should have abortions but i also dont believe i should stand in the way of her making the decision, but your party doesnt see it that way.

your party wants people to believe you are not a success if you dont start a business and create jobs.

your party is holding back the progress of the oountry all because they dont like the dark president. how is that benefiting the common working man like yourself?

I kinda suffer from that.

republicrat.

unfortunately social programs are a necessary evil in society.

not everybody on public assistance is abusing the system some people need that help and some people are using the help to better themselves through welfare to work programs.

people watch that parking wars show on A&E and see the ticket writers and give them a hard time blah blah blah but how many people know a lot of those workers are welfare to work people. they are off assistance working a decent job earning a decent wage with benefits for their families.

bro you honestly lucked up in life somehow, you have merely a high diploma and somehow came up on a job where you make a decent wage with little or no skill or qualifications. everybody isn't that lucky

well, isn't it my choice?

BTW, lets not get all emotional doggish. I'm not on here to get in a debate about my beliefs. You're going to vote for President Obama. I have no issues with that. I'm not on here to change your mind. Please don't try to change mine. How about being tolerate of others like your side accuses my side of NOT doing?

i'm far from emotional... you dont know who i am going to vote for i have voted for republicans before.

you have no side bro if you showed up at a republican meet up the first thing they would scream is this ni$$er is here to rob us.

Doggish, I'm not attacking social programs, I'm just stating a fact that's happening in OUR community. There's a lot of folks who are abusing the system. Not all, but a lot.

You think only white republicans do that?

Something's up. I refuse to believe that Willard is going to give up this quickly or easy...

They raised like 100M last month and are well-financed. It seems really odd they are sitting on the fence in Ohio considering how without Ohio and Florida, Mitt really has a small chance because the map is just not there for him.. or some internal polling is not what they wanted to see or his campaign is truly inept.

well, isn't it my choice?
and there's the cop out.

some people, just can not be wrong. they refuse. standing on the whole "well it's my choice" thing is more important to them than doing the right thing, even when it's the right thing for themselves.

the definition of selfish, the epitome of ignorance.

something like what? how inept and incompetent Romney and his campaign is?

I just can't trust their decision-making and there's no real reason to back out since it's damn near impossible for him to win without Ohio. His campaign doesn't seem to have a strategy other than lie.

This.

I try to find the reasons why some decisions have and are being made from his camp, but it's all distorted and lacking smarts or skill. Why wouldn't his camp try to exhaust his opponent's finances by going heavy ad rotation in swing states, so that they can make an attempt to deliver their message elsewhere?? As mentioned by both, INEPT.

Not too long ago, I asked that dude in the Politics forum how will America be better under a President Romney and I got sort of the same answer.

No. If both parties campaigned and targeted us for our votes, we wouldn't vote so strongly for one party. But the Republicans wrote us off over 40 yrs ago and have been scapegoating us ever since.
For most Black people, voting Republican is more about being contrary than any actual political substance.
That's not declaring the Democrats as perfect but they're far better and more open to communication.

honestly, I wasn't as political until I start working for the post office.

So the party that is literall destroying the Post Office is the one you choose?
I work for agencies that get paid through Medicaid, a favorite target for Republicans, which is why I can't support them so seeing a postman championing their cause boggles my mind.

Welcome to my hell, D. He really doesn't have a defense or argument. This is seeing politics as some kind of game and he picked the Rs and he'll defend them no matter what. Not rationally or very well but he will put up a meager defense for a second and then tap out. Since I really enjoy exchanges of contrary ideas, it's frustrated me to no ends when he tucks his head in his shell but I know if he had to really explain himself, he wouldn't be able to vote how he does.

They're not even that. A "necessary evil" is something that's bad but the alternative is worse. There's nothing back about making sure old people and the poor don't starve to death, can see doctors when they're sick or any of the many social programs out there.
