The official DNC thread 2012

I will never understand, for the life of me, how any woman can support GOP. This is a party, since 2010, has introduced and passed literally hundreds of bills throughout the nation to either stop, curtail or block women’s access to affordable and legal healthcare. This is a party that has stopped every bill that proposed equal pay for women. This is a party worked against Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act. This is a party tried to stop The Violence Against Women Act. This is a party its members called single mothers 'stupid,' ‘child abusers,’ compared them to cattle and caterpillars; said ‘female soldiers should expect to be raped in the army.’ This is a party its media called young woman who was requesting equal access to healthcare a ‘slut’ and asked her to make sex tapes. This is a party its legislators tried to redefine rape again and again -from forced rape to legitimate rape- to fit into their ideological philosophy of no abortions; even in the case of rape or incest. Their VP candidate said rape is 'a method of conception.’

Sad man :smh:

From weak women and those without an identity
Just like the black people who vote republican.

A lot of women vote according to their husband or were raised in republican households. It's brainwashing.

The democrats fucked up when they let the republican party hijack Jesus in the 90's.

Is it just me or do the Democrats seem to have a much more sharply focused message here? The Republicans seemed to be all over the place, with Obama-hating as a unifying element, but it seemed a real miss. The speakers seemed more polished and better crafted here. The choreography of the Republicans was just so off...why end with Chris Christie and not Ann Romney?

I'm actually surprised that Fox news is giving credit where it's due. Didn't expect that.

I still want issues, though. Love the speeches. Appreciate them. But that won't determine my vote. REGISTERED INDEPENDENT!

Me:

@stephenasmith You wasn't independent when you was on Fox!

Again, no response.

Yes!

He's said before he was independent and has praised Michelle on First Take.

Non story, I just hate when black people scream independent. My only option is Green Party or Democrat, and I know that's not who he's referring too

Pretty easy :dunno:

Has there ever been a first lady on her level besides Hillary? W's wife was a librarian. Hillary doesn't have the personality, warmth and fire that Michelle has, which is why she lost in the primary. Hillary is robotic, and doesn't have the natural charisma Bill has.

I still don't know what they're message was from last week. Not a plan in sight aside from bashing the current admin, but zero policies, strategies, ideas, nothing.

There's some beautiful prose in this Michelle Obama speech:

If farmers and blacksmiths could win independence from an empire, if immigrants could leave behind everything they knew for a better life on our shores, if women could be dragged to jail for seeking the vote, if a generation could defeat a depression, and define greatness for all time, if a young preacher could lift us to the mountaintop with his righteous dream, and if proud Americans can be who they are and boldly stand at the altar with who they love then surely, surely we can give everyone in this country a fair chance at that great American Dream. Because in the end, more than anything else, that is the story of this country – the story of unwavering hope grounded in unyielding struggle. That is what has made my story, and Barack’s story, and so many other American stories possible.

That nigga hussain aint giving a speech? Awww cuhz its a wrap.. Romney 2012 i called it... One love yall im out

Fun fashion fact to BGOL SISTERS: if you'd like to buy a dress from Tracy Reese, who made Michelle Obama's dress tonight, it will set you back around $400. If you'd like to buy a dress from Ann Romney's RNC designer, that would be Oscar de la Renta, who sells them for around $4,000 each. Mmm.
