That (jar) will come back to bite Walt and others ... as BGOL'ers have discussed here previously the past week or so.


* For those who want to hear a SERIOUS POTENTIAL SPOILER ... take a listen to the end of the "BUYOUT" podcast from the homies who do the BREAKING GOOD podcast. Check it out on Itunes or their Baldmove website. They're good with their recaps and shows, and I listen to them in x2 speed on the Ipod Touch as some of the shows can be longer in length. They end their shows with the SPOILER(S) section at the end ... and what they've heard and read for the end of episode 8 is quite interesting. Keep in mind they can't 100% verify things, but they've had other spoilers in the past for Breaking Bad and other programs that have come to be true. Also, through other message boards ... REDDIT ... and one of the 4CHAN sections ... such info was leaked supposedly by someone working on the series, and in the past they had the screencap (these spoiler-type peeps online) about Gus getting half his face blown off a good 2 - 3 weeks ahead of time, and the information for season 5, episode 8 was supposedly promptly deleted by the mod(s) at one or more of these message boards, per the Breaking Good podcast show and what they were informed of.

just as i said. he can't handle not being in control when he's not in control he does stupid shit.
he felt like he lost it and the 9 dudes were gonna flip so he gets emotional and reacts and is fucked all in the game now when he didn't have to do it.

don't know if jessee will find out since mike was supposed to be gone anyway... maybe toss him in that hole where he hid those guns and the gun he used to shoot mike with. leave the car there.

but walt is gonna panic and he's gonna end up acting like a crackhead until he spills the beans

todd is working there simply because walt wants to be the teacher again he wants to have someone under him who defers has no real opinion and he can mold into what he wants.

He wasn't Mike's lawyer...he was only the lawyer for the 9 dudes...I am still seriously questioning why Mike was seen w/ him in the prison when he coulda just relayed a message...and even worse have him handle his $$$ knowing the dea was still on the Fring case...ironically he had Walter get rid of the bugs too early

this is why breaking bad falls somewhere above weeds (cheech and chong drug farce) and far below the wire (but what television show doesn't?) in terms of realism.

the attorney had no obligation to divulge the origin of the money. the DEA certainly had no proof (or even suspicion) that the money was the fruit of mike ehrmantrout's criminal conspiracy.

the attorney could have told them to go pound sand. it's not even clear on what grounds the DEA could've obtained a warrant to interrupt dan wachsberger as he filled the deposit boxes.

exactly what i thought.

how the hell they gonna pin him with anything if he wasn't even his lawyer?
the other 9 dudes are already in jail and prosecuted... what reason did they have to follow him?

the money is the money wouldn't they have to go through the channels to get a subpena to see who's boxes they were
and then on top of that it probably is in families names and not the convicts
and then they'd have to find out where the money came from
which had no ties to mike at all since he came up clean

or am i missing something here?

True ... that's the hard thing about many tv series. Having to force the viewer(s) to "suspend their disbelief" (as the saying goes in showbiz / entertainment) and go along for the ride ... despite erroneous facts ... plot holes ... questionable actions, etc. A show like Breaking Bad is tricky as they try and blend in dark humour, etc. It's a show about one of the worst known drugs out there ... and even after the 2008 - 2012 run so far and all the despicable shit Walt has done ... many of us are still pulling for him. Mind you ... most were clearly pulling for Gustavo Fring in seasons 3 and 4, but hell ... who else is there to pull for now? Wifey / kids / Jesse / Lydia / the late Mike? Walt's gone off the deep end a long time ago ... and we're hoping he does a bunch more bad shit before getting blasted sometime in 2013 or taking his own life, or whatever the fuck happens a year from now :eek:

Yeah they fucked up right there, lawyer client confidentiality he didn't have to explain shit to those cops, even though the cops illegally followed him I'm sure the cops could have came up with some bullshit reason that part is believable. The lawyer could have used a bunch of different reasons why he was at the bank and he wouldn't have to give up any names because he is a lawyer.

But he was in there with a suitcase full of cash. If u go back to the beginning of the season Mike is on tape in one of the prisons acting as a lawyer with that lawyer going to see one of those 9 guys telling him he'll get shit straight. Remember they also took all of those cats bread before and here is their lawyer in a bank putting it all back. When you're after somebody on the DEA level I think maybe its a forgone conclusion you are tied into all of this shit. They had been questioning dude all day and he finally cracked.

how do they know that he's putting their money back?
they checked out all of the families and none of them were living above their means.

the dea had nothing on him until he flipped. he was putting clients money into a safe deposit box where is that illegal?
especially considering that the money was not tied to anyone or anything...they were safe deposit boxes

I mean a real lawyer would have been in those cops ass for an illegal tail, interrupting his privacy in a bank. They had absolutely no proof that the cash had any ties to Mike or anyone else. How is depositing money in a safety deposit box, probable cause. Unless they had some type of proof, or warrant the bank can't allow even DEA access to a safety deposit box. You damn near need an act of Congress to open one. That was pure bullshit. I was very disappointed with the way that went down. it was complete fantasy.

Why is Walt such a pussy as a killer, especially with Mike?

Mike put the metal to his head one too many times for my taste and shitted on him while dying.

The lawyers job was to keep the money flowing so that none of the 9 dudes flip and HE end's up flipping? are you serious? and so what he was putting away money how is that illegal?

for all they knew, dan wachsberger could have merely been distributing assets from an estate or a conservatorship.

the writers got lazy.

he should've hired saul
saul would've sued them for interrupting him while he was conducting business and got 2 of them fired for illegally following him :lol:

there's no problem operationally or tactically with them surveilling dan wachsberger.

but the internal logic of the show takes a hit when SA steven gomez can conclude that tailing an attorney to a bank automatically means that dan wachsberger is dirty.

I think in certain instances the writing on the show has been shaky this season, and I think it's been to condense things to wrap everything up with a neat little bow. There is no villain besides Walt.

The peak of the show was last year.

When I think they thought of the show. I don't think they ever thought of it with an ending in mind, because most shows don't last this long...much less with that many people caring. A lot of things this year seem forced.

I listen to podcast talking about how great some of this seasons episodes have been, but they've been sort of spotty. The magnet episode was an all time low.

I've grown to like Skylar more, but the whole thing now and their relationship just seems silly. Like him moving the stuff to the car wash. How many women are just going to stop nagging? Her character isn't well written now, it's just to annoy Walt and the viewer. They should have taken it in another direction where she's cool with it, but she keeps trying to get him out. Now when Skylar is on the screen I know it's going to be a stupid annoying pointless scene. Neither is Jesse besides when he was at the dinner table. Now Hank is super cop, but why is he so intent on still finding Eisenberg that he risk losing his job in the process? It's not like he can be a private eye. Gus and the mexican cartel is the one who he thinks tried to kill him. It's too cliche. Why do you care about the mysterious cook. It's not like it will stop meth use. Same with Lydia putting on the wrong shoes. The show is too good for that.

I still don't understand the kid shit, and that pretend I'm crazy plan. Now it's like it never happen, and she just needs to see a therapist. She's cool with them killing her, just don't harm the kids. Why didn't she move out this time?

Regarding the arrest of the attorney:

I think the purpose of showing the discussion between Hank and his superior, and the following conversation between Hank and Gomez was to show the illegal nature of the tail and subsequent arrest of the attorney.

I also think that the dialogue of Saul chastising Mike for using that attorney and calling him a hack was to communicate to the viewer that the attorney was incompetent and his arrest should have and could have been avoided.

Lastly, if you listen closely to the initial exchange between Hank and Gomez which is overheard by Walt at the station, you will hear Gomez say "I sweated the guy for 14hours...". "Sweating" is a bush league torture by interrogation tactic used by law enforcement to question suspects prior to filing charges. Its main purpose is to instill fear into a suspect and illicit an admission of guilt or confession. This tactic can usually be extinguished by invoking ones right to counsel. Here, Gomez is bragging about being so good at the tactic that he gets an attorney to flip and accept a deal. They even laugh about it. This was yet another way for the writers to communicate to the viewer that this arrest was less about legitimate procedure and more about an overzealous cop and an incompetent suspect (which coincidentally is about as real as it gets in criminal law).

To that end, what looks like lazy writing may just be lazy watching.
