Is it 'still' possible to make money through online marketing?

I'm getting tired working for someone else and I just feel I'm lacking motivation for my job. I'd like to know whether it's still possible for one to make sufficient passive income through marketing. I'm more than aware that the internet marketing hustle is saturated, but I'm not gonna let that deter me.

I'd appreciate if the fam can recommend any sites or reading material relating to online marketing.

I'm eager and motivated to start working for myself.

Thanx brothers.

ZipNadaZilch.com

I made a few bucks over the summer with them. Still trying to get off the ground and make some real good money though.

With all these scams out there, who in their right mind is going to shop on a site that is new and not repeatable, yet everybody, especially chicks, wants to open up an online boutique..

ZNZ is free to get in and start making money. No sales whatsoever. They have it set up to where anybody can start making money without ever spending a penny.

According to BGOL it's impossible and everything is a scam.

However, I make good money online.

the short answer is yes.
2 yr old stats but u get the point...

That site looks suspect. :hmm:

I've already been getting paid and I haven't spent one cent to get involved. Have you actually took the time to research it? It took me 3 days to devour all the information to see it if was legit before I could make a decision on if I wanted to get involved.

How much do you make?

If I could ask, op, how old are you and what do you do?

25 years of age. I work for student admissions in a college. Bacially I process prospective student applications and organize interviews. The job pays decent i guess, but I've lost all motivation for it :smh:

I'm at the point in life where I'm just tired of adhering to rules by managers. I really need to start something that will allow me to be self-sufficient.

@ Mainman, thanx for the chart, but I live in the UK, So I'm not sure if it's applicable for me.

Could you recommend any sites or books relating to online marketing. I'd really appreciate that.

The conundrum I have is figuring out something to market.

The only way to really still make money online is by becoming an authority. You have to give away madd free shit in return for at least an email then later on charge for something like info or something.

Some rewrite or rehash info or a technique then sell an ebook on Warrior Forum.

Personally I stopped doing a lot of online marketing, still do some SEO driving people to offers for products but it's hard to rank and you need to know a lot about SEO and changes Google does like every few months. It's a headache.

I keep saying I need to drop some books on these ereaders like Kindle or the Nook.

I think there is a major market in that where as you can write a book on a particular subject that no one has a ton of books on. Like some crazy shit like how to raise ducks or off the wall, but do research on where there is a community of people and no heavy competition. You do heavy research and become the authority.

But another avenue I wanted to mess with was doing children's books on the Kindle and sell them for .99¢

I bought a Kindle for my wife last year, but my son who was 6 at the time downloaded all these free kids books, there's not many for his age to read, but he is very electronics/computer savvy.

I would love to get an illustrator and write some simple kids books about Johnny goes to the store, Johnny visits the dentist. Give away a ton of books for free then have others that people pay .99¢ for. Think that will make continual money. Imagine just 500 people buy that one book a month, and you have 10-20 books?

JUST DO IT!

Marketing is something very difficult to teach because if there were a simple formula, everyone would do it and make a killing.

It's basically about finding something you want to promote, develop good marketing sites for it, exploit free and paid ways to generate traffic, then just keep testing different methods and keep tweaking stuff to increase traffic and conversion rates.

i think its more important to now how to market. if u get the how, u can move just about anything.

i would check out the warrior forum to get a taste of what some people are doing these days. might give you some ideas. i'll just say dont do like most and get stuck in the learning phase over there. alot of people on that board get stuck in a cycle of learning and planning. so u have some slick dudes over there that can really talk that shit that prey on newguys and make a pretty penny selling dreams. u'll see for youself. but its prolly a good place to check out.

Inbound Marketing: Get Found Using Google, Social Media, and Blogs (New Rules Social Media Series)

good book to start off with.

It's gotten a whole lot more difficult with Google recently changing and improving their algorithms with the new Panda and Penguin updates.

When you have the knowledge you can do whatever you want. You may want to check out the book I'm giving away in my sig. It gives a overview about making money online. I don't talk too much about one method because its a overview. At the end I have included a internet marketing glossary, so you'll be ahead of the curve.
