First of all, I have him shave my beard off and line up/trim my goatee. Secondly, Fuck what you're talking about! I'm on a budget, and believe me, I don't take $80 bucks lightly. I spend $80 a month on haircuts. That's right, $80 for a little over an hour of his time--I'm in his chair for less then, or right around, 20 minutes each time. I don't make $80 bucks an hour; and for real, for real, I doubt any who will read this thread makes that much regularly. He's lucky, and so is the nigga after me, that I don't ask him to shave my balls for the amount of money I give him.nothing pisses me off more than when i am next and the cat before me has to get his beard and shit trimmed up. shave your shit at him prep your face like the barber does and your wont get bumps

i make 80 bucks an hour on a good night at the poker tables at the casino if that counts
about 95% of the time i drop a $5 tip. only time i don't usually is when i don't have much cash on hand. the place i hit has THE BEST barbers around but adds a high fee to your bill if you wanna use credit cards or debit cards. i frown on that sheit on gp and won't use my card because of it. so the barber suffers over that sheit really. because if they took cards like most every modern business does w/o the exorbitant rate to use the card i would pay for the cut and add the tip
This tipping shit is getting out of control. I swear every place I go has a tip jar or the receipt with the tip line. Place I go to for my laser hair removal for my face has the nerve to ask for tips when people are paying a lot of loot for their overpriced type of procedures at this place. Just learn awhile back you "suppose" to tip at Sonic too. I can see why people tip barbers though.
I figure by the time I get my cut and beard shape up, From $20, my change will be like $3 to $5, so I say fuck it, give the $20, tell him to keep the change, and I bounce.

To keep a wave pattern you must cut with the growth pattern of your hair. In other words don't cut against the grain.
The type quality of the clippers and guard will make a huge difference in how your waves look
i'm all for tipping but for 20 bucks you ain't getting shit extra from me... if it was an uneven amount like 15 16 17 18 or whatever you would get that whole 20 but you charge me 20 that is all you are getting out of me

I've been cutting my own hair for about two months now, and the actually cutting process was easy for, since I rock simple dark caeser cut, no fading or none of that shit.
I'm still learning to get my line the way I want it, but at this point that has more to do with the shitty pair of trimmers (I bought a clipper/trimmer combo
) I have. Don't even get me started on the back, most times I just do a half ass, quick job...

I've also heard that if your waves are 'deep' enough in, then you should be alright.
I can see why people tip barbers though.
I don't see the point in pay extra when I'm already paying for a service. If i'm paying you for a service all costs should be accounted for in my bill.

I disagree with him on cutting your hair to low messing up your progress.
Waves isn't an overnight process no is there any scientific method to getting them.Once you have trained your hair to grow in a certain way/pattern,you can shave your head bold and when your hair starts to grow back,it will grow back in the same way/pattern you've brushed it for so long.
You can have a bald fade and sometimes still see the way pattern.
I do my own hair now,but when I did go to a barber it was 14 for a cutt and shave no tip unless I tell him to get a real job...anything higher is a rip-off.
Now its higher cause everyone is using razors and begin hair dye...which looks terrible on the people Ive seen it on.
