Black Panther and Storm No Longer Married!!!

:dunno:
Considering everything thats happened since the Doomwar, the writing's been on the wall, especially with Storm stil fulltime in the X-Men books and him in Hell's Kitchen for that time period.

LOL. Don't get me started on the Hell's Kitchen thing, that has been absolute bullshit from word one. When Reed Richards fucks up you don't see him going on sabbatical to the Savage Land to "find himself" or whatever. Feh.

With the focus on "big events" for the last few years everything seems rushed, there's very little time taken to flesh things out anymore. It doesn't help that releases for the various books aren't properly timed to fit any kind of chronological sequence either. You'll read a book this week and there's a gap in the storyline that you're left with for 2 weeks until another comic comes out that's supposed to fill that gap. The AvX storyline is the perfect example, it's all over the place.

BP and Storm's marriage is a big deal. If she's a queen, then let her go be a queen and tell those stories, it's not like Utopia is starved for mutants. This divorce-by-decree all of a sudden has less than zero logic to it, even by comic standards.

Now that I think about it things could be worse...Marvel is quite capable of pulling some love-triangle garbage like Rogue/Gambit/Magneto or Sue/Reed/Namor, just to create dramatic tension and angsty comic goodness. :smh:

Here are some views from around the comic world...both black & white. Some real interesting views, a few that cross over from pulp fiction into reality celluloid. A BP movie?! Hmm

Thanks for this. I'm so far behind. I gotta lot of catching up to do

I am STILL mad at how they neutered both the Black Banther and Wakanda. Just can't allow their to be an advanced autonomous african nation, nor a confident, able black character with a happy marriage to another beautiful character.
Re-reading Priest's run on BP ( and certain parts of Hudlin's) and it really makes the drop off incredibly steep. One moment ruling the most advanced and richest nation on earth, next minute skulking in Hell's Kitchen.
With no wife. Over some bullshit event. That was rubbish.

Marvel needs to stop pitting hero against hero and create some worthwhile villains.

c/s

Priest made him the most dangerous man in the world...on some James Bond level.

C'mon man. Marvel has plenty of worthwhile villains but we've seen those stories. Heroes vs heroes on a major level can be a great story.

You know Wakanda's been around since the 60s, right? It might be past time to shake things up and now the destruction in WAkanda and the subsequent declaration of war on Atlantis is playing into "New Avengers".
As far as the couple goes, outside Reed and Sue, they break up every couple, why did anyone think T'Challa and Ororo would be different?

I heard this argument too.

A fan who agreed with the break up named Wasp/Hank Pym, Scarlett Witch/Vision, Reed/Sue etc.

Understood but damn they were ALL very well established before they started the break-up and trauma.

Can we enjoy them for a while?

I really wouldn't mind IF Marvel really supported characters of color like that.

But there is so few that it seems off balance.
Why cant THEY be a new standard in relationships in the Marvel U?

Why should they be?
If this was a different era with less turnover in creative and editorial staffs and longer attention spans in their audience and less competition for that same audience, they could have stayed together longer but if wishes were fishes---figure out how that cliché ends:D.
