BGOL Gun Owners - Ammunition

Word is started to come down the pipe that Obama has not or will not renew licenses for the import of ammunition from foreign companies. There's also rumors of banning the sale of ammunition online.

Keep in mind that 50% of ammo sold in the U.S. are from foreign manufacturers like Wolf and Tula ammunition.

If that happens, we'll be looking at a 50% decrease in available ammo making it much, much harder to obtain. Plus that would normally mean an increase in the prices.

Are you brothers stocking up on your supply? If so, do you buy locally or online?

Most by from Walmart....Federal or Winchester. Honestly I don't know what his deal with gun control is.

I don't buy ammo online or foreign ammo either.

Does that mean a 50% decrease r does it mean American companies like Remington will expand

If it's left to just American ammo manufacturers, then between the public scrambling for ammo and them having to supply the US military and the current wars they'll constantly be on back-order status.

I honestly don't see them being able to 'expand' their operations to meet that type of demand, at least not for the foreseeable future anyway.

or they hire more people and increase manufacturing.

but then again the GOP has been screaming Obama is gonna take your guns since before he was elected and he has actually relaxed gun laws in some instances.

i think he will reinstitute the assault weapons ban and possible the drum magazines and I won't have a problem with that.

I work at a gun store, and alot of this importation and ammo online ban stuff, rumor mill/hearsay. Im not saying something cant happen but don't believe the hype, but if you feel like something really is/may happen, I would buy 1 thousand rounds of all you major calibers and get into reloading. I hate fear mongers, so take it for what its worth

Man Obama is not touching the gun issue....

I bet that muthafucka owns guns himself...

why do they love to talk this shit....

Please dont fall for this okie doke:smh:

Same shit happened in 08 the so called 'word' was a ban on ammo fucking prices of .380 ammo was thru the fucking roof...for nothing.

But alas the idiots are gonna fall for it again.

When you break it down all repugs got to rally their base is fear of losing their guns/ammo fear of abortion or birth control and taxes.

ammo manufacturers will not increase capacity...supply & demand 101...why spend crazy amounts of capital for a short burst of sales, when they can keep their same ouput and charge more, just b/c of unfounded internet and word-of-mouth hype, i.e. the best free advertising. At most, they hire a few extra workers and maybe a 2nd or 3rd shift, maybe some OT, if they're not already doing that.

I get my ammo from Outdoor World. It's 96 miles away, but they got pretty good prices. Regardless, I currently have a ton of .40, 223 and 9mm ammo in my garage. My slug and .556 ammo is short, but i rarely use my Moss or my AR that often. When I do use my AR, I use 223 rounds.

I thought OP had a white tone to him. I haven't heard anything on a ban on ammo. Just sounds like some bullshit posting. Talking about pass down.

KylesGunShop has Federal Tactical #1 Buckshot for $50 for a box of 50 in case any of you were lookin for some. shits kinda hard to find. I'm waitin on the ups man right now with some I ordered.

There will be no ammo shortage, Obama has no gun or ammo control plans and won't be making any. What you hear is typical cac shit that has been spewing out their mouths since before the man took office. Most of it is probably from weapon dealers themselves trying to boost sales based on panic and fear.

Online sales are skyrocketing and will continue to do so because its so hassle free. I get all mine online unless I just need some practice shit and for that there is always wal-mart.

At least once a year this type of shit comes up and causes a run for ammunition or guns and their sales go through the roof.

Shit if I had a gun shop I would start a rumor too...Y'all better come by some of this shit before he takes it.

Maybe a shortage.

The Dept. of Homeland Security just purchased another shitload, (750 million rounds) of ammo.

Chain email says Homeland Security purchasing many bullets perhaps in anticipation of civil unrest or an invasion

Homeland Security has contracted to buy up to 450 million .40-caliber bullets -- and that total exceeds the nation’s population. Significantly, though, the purchase contract covers five years; there’s no indication the agency is piling up the bullets in a hurry.

March 24th, 2012 in a chain email forwarded by a reader.

1) That's from march. This is an amended solicitation for additional rounds of ammo.

2) I conveyed no conspiracy theory as to why they are making the purchase.

Thank you. I was dying laughing at all these fool-ass peckerwoods falling over each other trying to buy the last gun on the shelf after the '08 election. Talking about "Obama's plans for the second amandment" and all that foolishness. Even a closed asshole could see straight through that bullshit, and the gun manufacturers are still laughing at y'alls fool asses.

Now it the ammo folks turn to plant a new crop of bullshit for the sheep to graze on.

just seems easier to learn how to shoot better and more accurate than spend all this money on expensive ammo that you will probably never have to use in 3 lifetimes...

I laugh when I go to to gun shows. White dealers always have those NoBama shirts on but are constantly selling guns. I know they be laughing a the masses hurriedly buying there stuff. Ignorance helps breed that mass hysteria.
