BOXINGTALK PREDICTIONS: KHAN-GARCIA
Compiled By John McCormick

Boxingtalkers predict Khan

John McCormick: Amir Khan by late stoppage. Danny Garcia is an ordinary fighter and is nothing special. Khan should win this one easily.

Greg Leon: Khan by stoppage: Too much too soon for Garcia.

Scott Shaffer: I don't like the racist comments coming out of the Garcia camp. No class. Once Khan adjusts to Garcia's speed, he should win by decision. Hopefully, Khan will get treated fairly this time in America.

Doveed Linder: Khan via decision. I view Garcia as good, but not great. Not that Khan is great at this point, but he has great tools and a strong will to win. That will be the difference in an 8-4 type of fight.

Rob Soucy: This is what boxing fans must "settle" for after the fallout from Lamont Peterson testing postive for performance enhancers. But this is actually a really good fight in my opinion. Amir Khan is much more heralded but Danny Garcia can win this scrap. Khan has the better tools but Garcia is just as hungry. It figures to be a distance fight with both fighters having their moments. Look for Khan to beat Garcia to the punch more often than not with his blazing fast hands. Garcia will look to be the counter puncher and will have some success but in the end I see Kahn having too much speed and winning a competitive, but clear decision, 116-112.

Michael Walters: King Khan by unanimous decision in a tough 12 round fight. I think he he will trade more with Garcia and not run as much as he did against Peters

Amir Khan Wants Floyd Mayweather After Garcia

WBA super world light-welterweight champion, Amir Khan, seems pretty certain he'll be victorious in his next fight against WBC light-welterweight champion Danny Garcia, and he's already considering future opponents. Khan still wants a piece of WBC welterweight champion Floyd Mayweather, and he thinks the sports' pound-for-pound king is ripe for a loss.
"This is my chance to prove once and for all that I'm the best in the division," Khan said. "Styles make fights. I know Mayweather's fought other styles and has looked so good against them, but he's never fought anyone with my style, someone young, hungry, fit and strong who can punch. … I know I will cause Mayweather problems. He's getting older and slower now. It's the best time to catch him. I really believe I do have the style to beat him. … One of the reasons I want to move up to 147lbs is to fight Mayweather and it's not about the money, it's about me knowing I can beat the guy and be the next guy at the top, the next pound-for-pound champion."
Given how things went for Khan in his Dec. 10 fight against Lamont Peterson, it's a little shocking to hear him talking about future matchups less than 24 hours away from his title clash against Garcia. He made the mistake of overlooking Peterson last December, and it cost him his WBA title for a while. Fortunately for Amir, Peterson admitted to taking testosterone pallets prior to their December bout, and the fight between the two was ruled a no-contest (Khan's belt was recently returned to him).
Even though I like Khan's chances of emerging victorious against Garcia, he might find himself in trouble if he isn't completely focused.
As far as a potential fight against Mayweather is concerned, I don't even think it'll be a competitive bout, but it'll be a good tune-up fight for "Money."

basically he wants to get paid next

he needs to seek a rematch with peterson before even thinking about money may

Nah, Lamont lost. Khan doesn't need him. He lost to a guy that got caught cheating. Khan got his belt back too. I doubt Khan ever fights him again. Why would he? Khan is mosdef looking to get the Mayweather Money.

I believe Amir is going to lose. He has not showed me heis a next level fighter. Kind of like Ortiz. All I see is a name. The fighter tonight that gets another chance is Philly's Garcia. Amir if he loses will be begging for a rematch with Garcia or a fight with Timmy. PBF isn't in his future.

we already know khan isnt great..tonight is danny's audition so lets see what happens...khan cant beat any elite fighter..that is why he hasnt faced any yet..yes he wants to fight mayweather but who doesnt lol

I love how everyone says they have the style and gameplan to beat Flord before they get in the ring, then after about 4 rounds they're sitting in their corner like

Yeah, like all the Sonnen fans saying he's figured out the way to beat Silva... the way that he's 0-2 against Silva with. :hmm:

First of all I believe Khan won the first fight anyway, but even still, Dude cheated, so why would I give you the opportunity to get paid and get back in the mix? You cheated so fuck you...

this should be a good fight

i prefer the british broadcast
I like the way the breakdown the fight

the past couple of fights, the judges scorecards have been fucked up. i know khan has to be worried about that shit. hopefully that'll make him more aggressive

I got Garcia....never liked Khan, nor thought he was a good fighter.
