My homegirl was offered a job about a month ago but turned it down because the salary offer was too low. She got a call for an interview with another company for the same position...should she mention the fact that she was just offered a job but had to turn it down? The job is in retail management by the way.

Companies hate getting candidates submitted more than once by different headhunters.

On another note OP (and i'm not tryna be funny or degrading) but how does an adult make it (pay bills, rent, mortgage) on a retail salary?
You could ask the same question of alot of teachers and some police officers. In retail, it depends on where they're working. Assistant Managers at places like Sears, BB, Target, etc. make $40-45k+ before bonuses. Hell I know supervisors (step below Asst. Mgr. with alot of overlap) at Best Buy who stay in that position because they get paid hourly and make more than the managers

That's a low ass salary for the hours they work. They make teacher salaries but work more and have worse benefits. asst managers don't really make anything.

yeah I wonder how teachers and police are able to survive, but also in retail everyone is a not manager or Asst manager im talking real people that work as cashiers and behind the perfume counter they make squat but treat customers like the customer is lower than them.

True but they don't always need a degree. They're doing OK considering the average household income is like $47k. That's a whole topic on its own but one person and maybe a child can have a decent living in most parts of the country on $45k.
Assumed you were talking about management since that's the topic. But yeah I agree, it's not easy for non-management. I did it in college, worked about 30 hrs/week while taking classes full-time. Only worked out because I had 2 roommates.
I don't know not 1 assistant retail manager making 45k. I guess it depends on the size of the store, but they usually make 35k tops.
She should know the pay range of the position before she even goes in to interview or is wasting her time. Other then that there is no reason to bring that up really...
