Little Known Facts About Hip Hop (Very Long Read but interesting)

I'm just a guy who happened to be around a lot of shit in the '90s... Like I said, I grew up with Large Professor... that's my BEST FRIEND... I was at his crib EVERY SINGLE DAY... I went to ALL OF THOSE STUDIO SESSIONS... It was because of him that I ended up as an Intern at Power Play studios... Power Play was the studio that those albums were recorded in. I got to know Nas and his crew because of Large... That's why I know about what REALLY happened to Paul C and WHO DID IT... That's how I do about how Ant- Live got on that song. Them Paid in Full dudes gassed Ant to be on it... I was at the Apollo when that WHOLE shit went down with Eric B and Main Source... and let me you... NOTHING HAPPENED... :smh:

Like I said... I'm just a guy who was lucky enough to be around a lot of that shit... That's it... :dunno:

That's it??? The infamous V. S., What's good, I'm a DJ from Jersey was even in a certain record pool with your ex. I forgot you were on here... Man this dude could write a book!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Peeped the Davey __ interview it's a good listen.

Good shit brought back a lot of memories. Props.

The stories of Eric B. are legendary. I heard a lot of this stuff before. The Crew they (more Eric B. than Rakim) ran with were Heavy in the streets.

I remember being at a show with Eric B & Rakim. Rakim sounded like shit and kats was throwing shit at both of them. Rakim went out the backdoor and Eric B went at kats.
Rakim made this verse on "As The Rhyme Goes on" and I swear it was about that night.

"I had you biting your tongue for what I brung and recite
Sung it on stage some said it don't sound like
The voice on the record - I see what you mean
Because the system was wack, so I had to scream"

ERIC B!!!! (REAL TALK)

"So I meet Rakim’s brother Stevie Blass. Stevie was working at a plant that was making bootleg records. It was a backdoor pressing plant so he had every record there was. So I chose some records and I was cutting it in the basement. I’ll never forget this. Rakim was down there drinking beer. I put the beat on and I had to put a bass line on it. So I took Fonda Rea’s “Over Like A Fat Rat” and said this is the bass line I’m going to use for this record. Rakim spit the beer all over the wall and thought it was the funniest sh*t in the world. I told Rakim, just like you laughing now you going to be laughing all the way to the bank and be a millionaire one day because of this record. "

Nah brah... I'm NOT who you think I am... You're thinking of Van Silk... I'm not him, Big Brah... :smh:

Redman is nowhere near six feet tall. I heard Rakim was responsible for putting that album together, even the scratches. Oh, and Earls head from LL Cool J team is the Public Enemy imprint .

This story is SOOO BULLSHIT... :smh:
Not the part about how he met Rakim... but how Eric b for President was made... :smh:I say that because... Where was Marley Marl??? Why didn't he talk about how Stevie Blass PLAYED THE ACTUAL BASELINE??? and finally... WHEN DID ERIC B CUT ANYTHING???

I heard Rakim was responsible for putting that album together, even the scratches.
I've heard Marley did those cuts... I've heard Rakim did them... I've even heard MC SHAN DID THEM TOO...:lol::lol:

Damn...I'm too young to know who half these folks are and being a Southerner who wasn't really big on East OR West coast...where is the list like this for rap south of DC and East of Texas.

Here's a tidbit for ya:

When Poison Clan's 2nd album was done, Walt (Debonaire) was pissed that Luke hadn't paid them, so he went to the studio and erased ALL of his vocals. Luke relented and gave Deb a separate deal. That's why JT's on the album by himself, and that's how Home Team came about. Also, Deb was starting to bug out, because he'd killed somebody in self defense and that was fucking with his mentals.

I thought Redman was 6'1". I think he said it in one of his songs.

I remember seeing ALL OF THEM... RUNDMC, THE AFROS and Russell Simmons... YES !!! RUSSELL SIMMONS... in the Palladium... with cases of 40s... ST. IDES!!! IN THE PALLADIUM GETTIN' FUCKED UP... Your man, DMC PUNCHED OUT DAMN NEAR EVERY EXIT SIGN IN THERE... STR8 AMAR'E STOUDEMIRE STYLE... WITHOUT THE CUT HAND... :smh::smh::smh:

We got into a fight at THE REAL Club 112 back in the day! He was dancing and saw me and said , "Oh, you don't nobody now?" We slap palms and afterwards, we go into the VIP section and get drunk with the rest of the crew. Later on, some jealous cats caught feelings because D and them were body snatching ho's. All of a sudden, D cracks a dude without warning and the next thing you know , it's on! D and about 3 other dudes got arrested that night. The brawl got broken up, but D didn't have a pause button. A lot of peeps don't know that D's nickname in the crew was "Wax a nigga D".:lol:
dmc seemed liked that kind of kat too

kool as a fan, but wild off that sauce

truth be told, i always like d's verses & voice better

peace

its funny I thought u were van silk too

The last nicknames V.S. had here were:
ANSWERMAN
FredFlintstone
& I think Superman one time

Somebody tried to go back & forth with him not knowing who he was nor wtf they were talking about on some bowlshit & too many eps like that kind of pushed him away from sharing gems that may never be revealed like the one about the mob son exec @ CBS.

Remember when he first kicked the model shit off officially:cool:

Hog Fat, bkf & V, good look for all that.

According to that documentary shot by his nephew, there's only like 4-5 people up in that spot with all them lock door mechanisms so they know exactly which folk got to JMJ;
that kat he was fucking with & them two siblings who bounced.

Another poster in another thread mentioned something about an ORIGINAL Scenario with ATCQ & The JBs.
Yet another lost jem I'd love to hear.

 @ Someone bringing up Finnese&Synquess.
Antoinette pledged & went over a Delta from WilliamPattersonCollege in the early 90s.

Red's about 6 ft & is no shorter than 5'10" as hollared @ him b4 @ a house party as we know his manager.

'Chuck has them classic dirty Souf Like Tales when shit was on fiyah down there:hellyea:
Would definitely like to cop a squat & hear a few of them wild assed shits.

peace

Red is at least 6 feet tall. Hell, E and P are both tall cats. They were the first cats from the east coast that came out to cali and weren't short.

Got picture with Redman years ago at the Century Club , he is roughly the same height as me. I'm 6'0.

I can't lie... Most east coast rappers are short... Especially Wu-Tang... Only U-god and Rae are kind of short( they're like 5' 9')... Everybody else is 6' and better.

I heard that Ra did them as well.

I know for a fact Eric B didn't do the cutting on that shit. When Roger Clayton (Uncle Jam RIP) brought Eric B and Rakim to Skateland to perform in 86, we had to take that ninja a set of 12's to practice before the show.:lol:

At the show, the shit he was doing was fucking pathetic. Like a newborn baby in a walker. :smh: He could barely change the fucking songs.

Well, Rakim, UTFO, were some of the first ones to come to Compton, and they are all kind of short. But hell, Pac, Cube Eazy, Too Short, Eiht, Ren and them aren't exactly giants either.:lol:

Yep. The only "Tall" cats I have ever met were PMD, KRS, Snoop E-40 and a few others.

Lord Jamar, Large P, Tip, damn near all of the cats from the 90's that I met are all about 5'7" -5'10"
