Tyler Perry the Action movie star?

I never thought I'd have a use for the shaq smilie but Tyler Perry's acting.... I won't say it sucks but it is unconvincing

Idris Elba was supposed to play Alex Cross. But they had to throw politics in there and gave it to Tyler Perry. I respect the man but common now. I would rather have old ass Morgan Freeman come back smh I hope TP surprises me.. which I doubt

Haters gonna hate sight unseen, but I'm looking forward to this movie

Can you provide any evidence WHATSOEVER of "politics" or are you just pulling shit out of your ass for the hell of it?

I wanted to hate tyler perry for this shit so badly, but I already know the movie will be better, and he will do a better acting job than:

let's keep it real

Damn I kept wondering who the white dude was. That's Jack from Lost but shit it doesn't really look like him or am I trippin?

Tyler Perry didn't write, direct or produce it. Shit actually looks good. Not shocking.

Seems like they waited too long to do this shit though. I'd rather watch a episode of Luther. I'll catch the download though.

That EW article has been posted here before. Again I ask - please highlight the POLITICS involved.

The reality is not nearly as controversial as the conspiracy theories. Idris had already signed on a commitment to do Prometheus (which had triple the budget of Alex Cross) and that movie filmed from March 2011 straight into 2012. That's also a big reason why they have not yet filmed more episodes of Luther. Less about politics and more about bad timing.

I'm sorry.
I just don't think I can do it.

But it's good to see Matthew Fox in a film again.
"VANTAGE POINT" was seriously overlooked.
I read somewhere he worked out hard to look like he does for this new film.

well being that bgol hates tyler perry, or anything mainstream and popular, i think its safe to say this movie will do numbers

Man if Tyler Perry fans show up for this then they got a hit.

Which is why the guy was big upping him in that EW article. He expects him to come with a built in audience. All that other jazz that he looks the part of a action star is just trying to confirm his choice.

...I just knew we'd get a scene of a black choir singing at some point.

Personally, it could be good, but my mind does TOO GOOD of a job associating things. Like, to this very day, I can't really take Will seriously, 'cause he's always Will from FPOB. Tyler Perry, to me, will always be associated with Madea, and the Christian community.

Even still, it'll be interesting to see how this turns out. I want to see if he has the acting chops to pull this off.

It's real unconvincing, I just can't take that cat seriously especially for an action crime drama. Oh well I guess they feel Morgan Freeman Is to old to do any more Alexcross movies.

Looks like a good movie, I came in ready to laugh at dude, but Tyler Perry did a good job. :heavysmoker:

HNIC

some of yall are sad as hell...you complain that he needs to do some different shit..he does some different shit and you STILL complain...

this is why I wonder if black folk subconsciously hold black people to a different criteria all the time. In fact I KNOW we do that's why I make those thread comparisons from time to time to call it out and hold the mirror up. I find myself doing it sometimes and have to check myself on it.

I swear to God if a white boy made sucky films then made a decent not so sucky film he'd get more props and show of support from some you than perry ever will:smh:

Imma pass on this but I hope he takes this route and slowly kills off Madea.

I see the TPP(TylerPerry Protectors) are here too.

ReZound.

I notice no one hasn't said shit about the dude from lost beating up some woman for no reason.

More power to him; however, I cannot take this film seriously.

This is a man whose primary claim to fame is dressing up as a woman and acting like an loud, annoying bitch.:smh:

And now you want me to buy him as a tough guy? Yeah, right...

I can see it now. "Richard Simmons is cast as The Terminator in 2014 remake film." :roflmao:

I doubt James Patterson writes for Tyler Perry's audience; at the same token Morgan Freeman did a damn good portrayal, and no box office success. I hope his box office ca shay inspires a real actor likes Denzel or Will to take up this character.

I sorry, TP just isn't convincing as the alpha male figure.

Just like Latifah and Common playing lovers, this shit won't fly.:smh:

Ice Cube, Larenz Tate, Derek Luke, numerous others could have been a better pick.
