~--~Official 2012 NBA Draft/Offseason Thread~--~

Jason Collins? all the Heat need is a center who can rebound and is a big body....

he aint no better than what yall got now though

people will probably quote me and laugh but if teams are done overpaying Kwame Brown he would fit in pretty nice with the Heat...he is big, stong, can rebound, and defend

That kwame brown idea ain't bad, he'll be a upgrade with his size.

Jason collins would work also, Im still on my Gerald Green, Jason Terry and big man trip..
At this moment I'm not counting Miller and Jones. They should be able to get a nice
player in the draft also.

Chamlers/Cole
Wade/Terry
James/Green
Battier/Haslem
Bosh/Pittman/Curry

I know you were talking about another team.

Why would he sign to be a backup when he can be a starter somewhere else?

He can start for us next yr if he's open to a 1 yr deal. I know he's probably not and the Bulls most likely won't give what it'll take to get him...which would be a Multi-yr deal. You right though. That would be a come up for the Nets if Deron walks.

No to Kwame Brown. Its one thing when you can be a no scoring threat but what all the teams are gonna do is sag off of him cuz he's not a jump shooting threat and his hands are to small to catch and to battle for rebounds. A good pick up for the Heat is Jason Terry to replace jones or Miller and spend more loot on a big threat that can pick and pop and pick and roll and not be a liability on defense. Brook Lopez or Oden would be a perfect peice.

Another thing that help the heat that no one has focus on yet is the same thing that killed them last year. Last year JJ Barea killed the heat because he was too small to stay with. If he didnt go for that 15 footer he would drive and dish. Lucky for the Heat OKC didnt have that threat that can drive and dish. so moving forward they have to really focus on that 1spot with Cole and Chalmers.

According to ESPN’s Chad Ford the Cleveland Cavaliers called the New Orleans Hornets and offered four draft picks (#4, #24, #33, #34) for the top pick in the draft and were quickly told “No.” The Hornets are keeping the pick, and drafting Anthony Davis.

Can the Heat afford Kwame? He made 7 million dollars this past season.

Pat Riley needs to go after some size. The heat get away with smoke and mirrors in the frontcourt.

Longterm your small forward should not ideally HAVE to be your teams leading rebounder

With Jones and Miller retiring... the Heat and get Nash and Terry to come aboard and get a decent big man in FA on the cheap...

Heat got the 27th pick if Royce White don't go top 25 they need to give that kid a serious look... Another LBJ but lite

Sup with Camby or Spencer Hawes? dude is a good pick and roll player and he can pass
Beatdown what do you think about Andre Miller or Brandon Roy? I wouldn't be surprised to see Ray Allen in a Heat jersey.
Uh...I was talking about to the Bulls. Let John Lucas walk.

For what? Lucas kept the spark from D Rose's absence for most of the season.

Dre miller would be an excellent pickup, he's a pure point and a pass first pg. nothing but a positive at the pg spot

I was thinking Jason Kidd would be a good fit before reading this article

March 24, 2007: MediaTakeOut.com has learned that Gabrielle Union has reportedly reunited with her childhood sweetheart - NBA star Jason Kidd.

The two were recently spotted in an Atlantic City casino - where they reportedly cuddled and reminisced about their high school romance.

Hopefully, for Gabby's sake, this relationship will turn out better than their last one. Their teenage love story ended when the NBA-bound Jason dropped Gabby like a bad habit. Gabby once said of her heartache, "I started crying, because I thought I was going to be Mrs. Jason Kidd."

But this looks to be the perfect time for the two to rekindle their old flame. Both Jason and Gabby have recently separated from their spouses. Gabby divorced NFL's Chris Howard in 2005. And Jason is currently in the midst of a bitter divorce battle with his estranged wife Joumana.

And if they do get together - every married woman in Hollywood can breathe a sigh of relief. Since her divorce, Gabrielle Union has been romantically linked to a number of married men, including A.J. Calloway (from 106 & Park) and Boris Kudjoe.

Lmao that article from 07

Lakers

Figure out a way to trade Pau Gasol and end up with Deron Williams.

3 team deal.
Nets get
Kevin Martin
Luis Scola
Ramon Sessions

Rockets get
Pau Gasol

Lakers get
Deron Williams

Lakers sign KG or Odom (maybe both) as a free agent. Maybe Ray Allen/Brandon Roy also. These old dudes won't like the thought of Miami running off three or four championships so they may just get together to try and prevent it.

PG Williams
SG Kobe
SF Ron
PF Garnett/Odom
C Bynum

Blockbuster 3 team deal
Magic get
Lopez
Gasol

Nets get
Bynum
Sessions

Lakers get
Williams
Howard

It looks like the Heat won't get a chance at White. I've seen Draymon Green mentioned with the Heat previously. Festus Ezeli seems like a fit as well.
Thursday evening I was the first to report that Iowa State's Royce White had canceled the remainder of his workouts and had gone silent. His agent, Andrew Vye, confirmed that White would not be doing any more workouts or interviews but refused to say whether he had a promise to be picked from a specific team.

White was scheduled to work out with the Hawks on Friday but canceled. Later Thursday, two different sources said that the Celtics had told White they'd take him with their 21st pick.

However, it's very possible that the promise could be to the Hawks at No. 23.

If the Kings draft MKG i'll be happy as shit..and if Tyreke Evans don't improve his jumper they need to trade his ass..

Since this is the off season thread I will set up shop right here and do what I did when the lockout was over as I did with the other thread. I will be out of town next sunday when free agency opens but hopefully I will try to post as much as I can.

Okay news of today

Josh Smith wants out and has listed his team as the following

Boston Celtics, New Jersey Nets, Houston Rockets and Orlando Magic

http://www.slamonline.com/online/nb...mith-not-opposed-to-trade-from-atlanta-hawks/

Brandon Roy will make a come back

http://www.sbnation.com/nba/2012/6/22/3111359/brandon-roy-golden-state-warriors-rumors

the warriors are interested but Roy wants to play for a contender. Miami is on top of his list. The Lakers and Bulls follow

Ray Allen set on the Heat

http://hardwoodhoudini.com/2012/06/23/ray-allen-and-the-miami-heat/

The Knicks are prepared to pay him more but Ray wants another ring and is willing to take a cut to get it.

JR Smith now has two more days to pick up his player option with the Knicks

The Houston Rockets are focus on Roy Hibbert and the Bulls back up center.

This is what I was talking about in the other thread and why Bird said he fucked up by not giving Hibbert an extension. Remember the Rockets are desperate for a big man. They threw cash at Marc Gasol only to have Memphis match it. Expect the same thing to happen. Forcing the Pacers to pay Hibbert a max contract.

Deron Williams.

Dallas and others are getting the feeling Williams will resign with the Nets having a source saying

Dallas thinks it’s 70-30 that Deron Williams will decide to re-sign with Brooklyn. Before you think that’s great news for the Nets, the Mavs haven’t given up on pursuing their favorite free-agent point guard.

Saying Williams actions is speaking loud. He took his whole family to visit the Nets arena and recently went on a trip on the Nets owner private plane which he has used for the whole off season.

Lamar Odom wants back with the Lakers but due to CBA rules he has to wait a year from when he was traded.

BREAKING THE BULLS ARE LOOKING TO MOVE NOAH AND DENG

Okay I apologize. Peter V was correct.

Jerry K has made it no secret he wants no part of the new luxury tax

The Bulls want to give Omer Asik and Taj Gibson new deals, so they’re exploring ways to trade Luol Deng and/or Joakim Noah to teams that can send them a trade exception and a No. 1 pick. New York Daily News

Why would Jerry do this??? Because it keeps him from going over the cap. The Bulls stay young and receive a trade exception they can use to get a player. He has to do this or he will lose to key players of his bench.

This is what I was talking about with the new CBA.

With 2013 being a wash for the Bulls anyway I can most def see Deng getting moved:yes:. I would miss Noah though:(.

I know they're planning on moving Deng, and I was content with that - but Noah too? No sir, I don't like it.

Jerry K?

Personally I'd just let Asik walk and I'd resign Taj and then amnesty Boozer. And if OKC is trying to sell their pick I'd take it off of their hands or at the very least trade into the top part of the 2nd round.

Deron's mother did an interview saying that Deron has a problem with Dallas because he doesn't want to live in Texas

As a Texan I have to say what the FUCK

Nigga got hollywood on us huh?

I'm sorry man but Mavs trying to create cap space was stupid man

Free agents never come here and players never try to force trades here

Top 5 media market or not

 @ Hibbert getting a max deal. Bird doesn't play that shit. He'll change the whole complexity of the team first. Hibbert's not getting a max deal from us.:smh:

To paraphrase Biggie: "I made you why would I [pay you]?" Max dollars. Isn't happening. We'll trade up and snatch Tyler first.

Dre miller would be an excellent pickup, he's a pure point and a pass first pg. nothing but a positive at the pg spot

That's my sleeper pick, but I think a team like the Lakers would go after him first.
Dont see the quick term need to address the pg spot tho.

Ray Allen
Jason Terry
Ryan Hollins
Gerald Green

depending on Miller and Jones I have another list....

(on phone going find names)

Max deal as far as a rookie can get.

So Bird lets Hibbert walk who does he place him with. Do you know how bad this will make Bird look?? He already failed to extend the guy then he lets him walk and gets nothing back not happening.

He will match the offer and deal with it. He already admited he made a mistake by not extending Hibbert. As for Bird not overpaying people explain Jamal Tinsely and Dany Granger
