Re: Thunder Playoff Thread
i agree with the lack of passing but tonights game wasn't like game 4
the problem tonight was the fact that all of okc's talent played together sans harden who had a horrible series.
the only edge the lakers had was on the inside and on the inside the thunder were more than holding their own so when you take that away it doesn't bode well for the lakers.
kobe's shot selection was almost the same but the shots tonight were needed. pau was aggressive but he wasn't hitting anything.
sessions and blake are useless on both ends of the court
and metta has to guard durant full time.
bynum looked uninterested
you can say the cause might have been kobe shooting but tonight he wasn't having the the kind of game that could be the makings of something special like in game 4.
in game 4 he has 14 points and some key rebounds and the inside was dominating which is why they led.
after the half he didn't even score which was because of kobe's bad play.
tonight he did nothing in the first and the 2nd because like i said all of the thunders talent started to play well on the inside and outside collison was huge with his cuts and offensive rebounds and then westbrook found his spot and blake and sessions were simply powerless to stop him.
then kd got going and that was all she wrote
the bigs tonight came up short imo mainly bynum... gasol tried but it just wasn't his night. and to go along with that the lakers get absolutely nothing from their bench at any point.
i said the lakers needed to slow it down rely on the bigs to combine for 60 and 20 and they'd win.
take kobe out of the game entirely and tonight wasn't a night where their bigs were going to combine for something special like 60 and 20...there was no makings of or no momentum.
last game was on kobe imo
this one wasn't it was on the fact that okc is just a flat out better more talented team than the lakers are right now and they finally played like it
i fully disagree.
the unfortunate part for fakers fans is that tobe's "all" translates into more shooting, because that's the only way he knows how to contribute. volume shooting.
you can't argue that tobe kept the fakers in the game, since he starting gunning from jump. if anything, that set the tempo of the game to favor the thunder.
you can also see how well the actually talented fakers performed without tobe in the game. even brain dead kevin harlan had to point out to reggie miller that the fakers were something like +8 when tobe sat.
you can also point to Q2, when tobe's chucking decreased, the tempo settled more favorably for the fakers.
by the time tobe reached 20 FGAs, the game was a wrap for the thunder.
