yeah I hate Cat. Most of her decisions she had the best intentions at heart, but Jon is my favorite character and she treated him like complete shit. She is a major reason he joined the Watch to begin with. From her perspective Jon is the living embodiment of Ned's affair (something Jaime had no prob reminding her) and he looked the most like Ned (more than her own kids so he is definately a Stark).

I don't think Jon really trippin off Cat like that. You have to remember in this world, there really isn't a prope place for illegitmate children of powerful people. They can be a threat to your legitimate children, but you have to hang onto them or other people will use them against you.

Seeing as Ned Stark had 5 legitimate children to work with, the Wall was probably the best option for Jon Snow either way. It helped that his Uncle Benjen was there as well.

In that world, even 2nd or 3rd legitimate sons end up on the wall for no other reason than they didn't have a useful purpose anywhere else.

Sansa wasnt as close to him as the other siblings but she aint treat him like Cat. The reason Sansa wasnt so close is cause she was extra uppity and wanted to be a 'proper' lady. All the good it did here.

Catelyn is the worse and the reason why so much bullshit went down. She treated Jon like shit. She left her boys alone in Winterfell to get to Ned. She kidnapped Tyrion when he didnt have anything to do with Bran. She was there when Renly got kidnapped. And now she has let Jaime go for her girls.

I know she is a mother and her sensibilities are different than Rob's or Ned's but she attracts bullshit or causes it herself.

i still think theon is worse but you can't ignore the fact that despite knowing how this game ends, she tries to play it again.

the reason she lost her husband was because she did the same exact fucking thing for the sake of her children.... and what happened? 1 kid in a prison marriage
1 kid lost out in exile
1 husband beheaded for being deemed a traitor because of the act of war that she did while kidnapping tyrion.

and everyone else has to deal with her irrational mistakes there are lives on the line... everybody is dying now because of what SHE did

she didn't even tell her husband so he could get the kids back to winterfell before the fall out happened or nothing....

he was stuck and fucked up in the game and didn't even know it... but because he was an honorable man HE PAID FOR HER ACTIONS and she's left to act as if she's innocent...

I'll say this again. Since so many bgol'ers just decide to make up their own shit about what i say.... I don't agree with what Cat did. I think it was stupid. She weakened Rob. But the stuff with Tyrion? Absolutely not, no way no how does anyone let Tyrion the attempted murderer of your child just walk out of the bar alive. No Stark person would do that. None. You guys are seeing through the eyes of the reader and knowing the situation. It's not like they had alot of due process and need for alot of evidence. "Here's a dagger, who does it belong too the imp...the assassin had this dagger who tried to kill Bran." That was the extent of the evidence. And that's what all of them had to go on. Not Jon, Not Ned, Not Rob would've let Tyrion walk out of that damn inn.

But letting Jamie go was stupid. And it was emotional. And as a mother i understand her despair. As a widow i understand that characters despair. But as someone who believes that you have to trust in the system in certain situations, and not weaken your soldiers during battle. I still see it as a stupid thing she did.
