With Bosh out of the lineup. Can you know agree he is more important than Wade?

I agree the Spo is a little over his head.

....What happened to Lebron in the post? He has barely gone into during the post season and has reverted back to his old habits even though he is playing well...

Exactly, why is the league MVP out on the 3-point line during every offensive set??..shooting 3 point shots?? lebron is one of the strongest, most agile & quick guys in the NBA. Why is he playing point forward?? Imagine what coach Popovich would do with Lebron....Wow!!!

The Heat have found themselves sometimes with foul trouble on their point guard which mean that Wade/Lebron find themselves orchestrating the offense.

Plus whether by design or not Spo doesnt seem to do a lot of playcalling in the vein of Thibs/Doc Rivers

with a team that is over the cap. there is only a few places you find youth.

the draft. (their draft position will have them picking up the type of players that can't contribute the way they want.

the d league. Which isn't always a guaranteed. Not every player from the d league is going to be Gerald Green.

This proves my point as long as the Heat salary cap is the way it is their depth options are limited.

If you want to be good in the NBA then you will have to spend. That is just a fact. Even you get lucky or good draft picks handed to you like OKC then you will have to spend to sustain it.

The Heat bench isn't terrible. I do think they have a big man problem, but it seems more like it is a coaching problem more than anything.

I have no problem with Lebron playing point forward, but I think they really don't need a traditional offense with Lebron and Wade on the team. I don't know how the triangle would work with that team, but I think it would have been a perfect offense for them.

The Heat just needed a little youth. I blame Spo for not playing Curry throughout the season. He can't get better if he doesn't play.

A major problem with the Heat is that they have too many veteran's minimum player salary making too much.

The Heat were stupid for signing him to begin with... Curry fooled them with the weight lose... Just because a person loses weight doesn't mean thy gain heart... Curry is a JOKE... :smh:

I agree but the thing is if you spend wisely like the Spurs and draft well you have a team that only needs minor tweaks to improve..

look what the spurs did. They traded George Hill because they knew they he was free agent this summer. So they traded their young talented player to do the Pacers and received the pacers pick.

A rookie who is going to make the rookie all 1st team. My point the spurs GM and Owner know when and how to spend their money

Spo had chances to use his guys throughout the season but like I said...the dude is stubborn

its hard to say that though

When was Curry ever given chance in the Heat rotation to get back into a form where he could contribute...

Pittman saw little action....Juwan Howard saw little....Curry saw little...

Spo stuck with Joel who at 6-9 thereabouts is ridiculously undersized.

The one problem I have always had with Lebron is that he does too much to make the game more difficult than he needs. No team can stop in on the post or drive, but I think he is afraid to go to the line.

I seemed he was more intent on getting the best record instead of preserving his guys. That is a Pat Riley technique.

The truth is that they could have played their roster like a San Antonio and get these guys in shape and experience.

It is not like these guys on San Antonio are great, but the get playing time, and if they make mistakes then they are immediately yanked.

Big O stated in a interview that Lebron needs to stop taking jumpers... only play 15ft to the basket. Punish the teams. By these cats missing 3s, they punishing themselves.

the regular season is where you have more leeway to test things

Throwing guys who dont get regular rotation times and ask them to contribute at the drop of a hat is asking for trouble.

Lebron was being asked to body up with PF's and Centres,, then run around after quick point guards if needed.

They had the opportunity to develop those big guys....

Funny how a bunch of new ninjas are all of a sudden typing about weak links & trading after the Heat struggled badly in two games out of two playoff years. I was calling the Heat flawed from the jump...mainly because I knew they didnt have a TEAM. Even though they went to the finals last year.....THEY STILL DIDNT HAVE A TEAM. Theyre stil one hell of a unit due to the big 2.5...but the fact remains...just like it remained last year......THEY DONT HAVE A LEGIT TEAM....just 2 superstars.

All 3 are actually important to the team. So bottom line is no one out of the big 2.5 will be traded. Plus who in the hell are they gonna trade with?

You keep all 3.....and find some that knows how to manage the three players. We're not typing about Melo or Boozer..i.e. a players that are stubborn, content with superficial BS & seem to refuse to do whats best for the team. We're typing about guys that will actually adjust their games for a title run.

So......... remove the coach that has admitted that he rarely coaches; And after the last two game I believe it. You shave down those 3 BIG ASS contracts...and due to how hungry LBJ, Bosh & Wade is for a title/success I know that theyll do it. With the extra money you go out and get a legit floor general and stop using LBJ like his Magic Johnson....you find 2-3 players that can come off the bench and seriously help the team...and BOOM youre done!

So lets sum it up.......
Coach that knows how to manage a team and can get his players to follow HIS PLAN.....a floor general that aint LBJ....and a few bench players.

The only problem is too much money was invested in 3 players. Wade may seem like the most tradable player....and maybe he is due to him looking like he's past his prime. But If Wade was playing for a coach like Doc ....I bet that they would find a way to get some use out of worn down Wade. In the same way Doc find a different way to still use Allen, KG etc.

As much as you all dont want to blame the coach due to LBJ and Wade being who they are...the bottom line is the coach is a factor as well.

Agreed.

But I hate to say that any decent coach should be pounding this fact into their head.

Yeah that Milwaukee game where he had like 40 pts all within 15ft of the basket without taking one 3pt shot was evidence of that.

I agree with most of what you're saying... except the floor general part... I think Lebron should play the point exclusively,IMO... Lebron is more like Magic than anybody else... The Point is Lebron's natural position. Now, I agree with your premise on fixing the bench and adding a few people but Miami has the floor general... There are a few players... PGs even... that are better floor generals than him... and those guys aren't coming to Miami... The guys who are available to come to Miami aren't better floor generals than Lebron. Miami needs size and depth.... Those are the things that can come through... like you said... restructuring contracts... To me, this is where Pat Riley needs to come in... He's has experience with building around a BIG POINT GUARD... It's time to do that... It's now or never...

they didn't even have a 3 point line back then on top of that. O weighed like 210lb and attacking the rim constantly. Bron is 260lb 6'8... come on man.

I talkin bout bron 40pt game against the bucks this season where he went 17 of 21 from the field

Fixing the Heat isn't that hard, matter of fact all they have to do is go the blue print the Bulls created with Pippen and Jordan...
That is grab as many big men as possible (they don't even have to be superstars or all that good, just good enough to play the position, be able to post, box out and rebound).
Get a power forward who can crash the boards, and play tough...
Next surround James and Wade with players who can drain the three point shots,
Finally, get a coach who knows how to unitize his talent.

Just thought i'd point out the obvious.

I watched almost every Heat game this season.

Spoelstra did nothing to develop these guys. Curry was supposedly almost always not ready. He didn't know his defensive assignments and he would get yanked right away. He never got into an offensive rhythm. The dude can flat out score if needed. Giving him playing time would have helped him on his defense, but if you don't play guys then you don't know what they can do.

Just look at Lin. He may not be the best guard, but he got the opportunity to play because of desperation and he flourished. He was allowed to at least grow.

Spo was intent on getting the top seed which I am okay with as long as he is playing guys. Even Chicago played a lot of guys, and this is the year you should empty out your bench because of the compressed season.

There is no way Pittman should play before Curry. That guy has two left feet. He makes Joel look like Karl Malone as far as scoring the ball. Pittman has no skills. He can't even bang.

having curry there and wasting him was pointless....but then again Sponever really has to answer for his decisions

Bad late game play calls....LOLLZZZ Lebron suxors

Bewildering tactical mistakes....LOLLZZZ deez guyz have no heartz

Baffling rotations.......Poor clock management.......

His guys take all the flack

Bosh is indeed missed. Miami will have a hard time beating the brash upstart Pacers. Wade and Spo was beefing also. Something is going to give. Spo might get future endeavored from coaching to another position in the Heat.

I see Eddie Curry sightings in this thread but Miami is thinking more long range with Curry. He will be their starting C next season. The reason he barely played this year is because they wanted a year to condition him to even get him ready to play at an NBA level. Even though Curry is not a good rebounder or defender he can score inside. Riley is using chess with Curry, because Riley's players always been in good playing shape. So basically Eddie got a year long training camp.

now this is plausible

I would love to be able to trade Bosh and Miller for Bynum and Josh McRoberts, but before that even come close to being reality the Lakers have to completely implode...

The Eddy Curry scenario makes sense. He did the same thing with Shaq when Shaq first came to the heat. In fact Shaq trim down a lot of lbs

My Team, The Spurs have been extremely blessed as well. You have had a Top 10 Center in David Robinson and the best Power Forward of all time with Timmy Duncan. But the team made good moves in bringing back S. Jackson and Boris Diaw laying off the bon-bons and ho-ho's long enough to get up and down the floor. If the Spurs win this year, I think Timmy Retires into the sunset.
