Khan Rejects Peterson's Apology: My Life Was at Risk!

Junior welterweight contender Amir Khan, during a recent appearance on BBC Radio 5 Live, said compulsory drug testing must be introduced in boxing in an attempt to clean up the sport. Khan lost his WBA and IBF belts to Lamont Peterson in December but the Washington fighter has recently failed a random drug test, which canceled their planned May 19th rematch in Las Vegas.

Peterson, who tested positive for synthetic testosterone, recently apologized for the rematch being canceled, but Khan says it will take a lot more than a simple apology to make good on what happened.

"It will take more than an apology for what happened last December, my life was at risk. One punch can change a fighter's life," Khan said.

"The way he kept coming forward after he was put down twice in the first round, the way he was recovering, I knew this was not the same Lamont Peterson I had been watching in videos, this guy was totally different. It was like fighting two people in the ring. I was hurting him and putting him down and he was still coming forward.

"I have fought big punchers like Marcos Maidana and other names out there and he seemed to punch harder, be a lot fitter than them. It just shows that performance enhancing drugs do make a difference and I saw the difference. He should be punished for what he did."

Khan is a bitch for his bullshit after the fight, but Peterson is at fault for all the shit Khan is saying now.

Khan in all honesty has to know he lost that fight. He didn't know what to do in the ring with a guy who ate his punches and kept coming. Funny how people bring up an issue that is totally irrelevent to what happened as a means to discredit Dudes concerns for his own safety. None of us were in the ring so who are we to judge? To discredit his concerns because the impacts are different than Margarito is stupid because that situation has nothing to do with this one. People.have been kiled in the ring by punches, Arguello was never the same after Pryor juiced up against him so to me Khans concerns were valid since HE was the one in the ring and I agree with him fuck a damn apology. To be honest, which you are struggling to do, the first person to bring up an irrelevent issue was you when you brought up Manny Pacquiao and you continue to do with Pryor (who more than likely wasn't using steroids before the fight but drinking something that kept him going in the late rounds and even then Arguello didn't die from their fights). Oscar De La Hoya didn't die against Shane Mosley in their 2nd fight. Roy Jones and Richard Hall didn't kill each other.
And maybe you missed what I was really saying: Khan got cheated but he's not the first and Miguel Cotto is a guy who's life really was in danger and he didn't conduct himself like this.

I was one of them. Everyone shines when they win but you really get to see a person when they lose or things don't go their way and he should learn that this is "Professional boxing" and conduct himself as one.


I hate when cats who don't actually follow the boxing threads jump in one or two and act like they know how people are going to react. Go check some of the threads out.
